The extension of nationwide lockdown, to curb the spread of Coronavirus, has further delayed the conduction of examinations and hence the announcement of CBSE 10th Results and CBSE 12th Results 2020. The Central Board of Secondary Education has ruled out the possibility of cancellation of the delayed CBSE Class 10 and CBSE Class 12 board examinations 2020.
While talking about the same, Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of examinations, CBSE, has said that the CBSE has ruled out the possibility of cancelling the remaining exams. “Deliberations are on to decide the timeline to conduct the remaining exams,” he further said. Taking note on the country being divided into red, orange and green zones basis the severity of the Coronavirus spread, he said that it won’t be feasible for the Board to conduct the exams in phases. He added that the rescheduled examinations will follow the same cycle across India.
“The academic cycle has been disrupted due to the outbreak of Coronavirus followed by the nationwide lockdown. Entrance examinations including NEET, JEE, CLAT, have been deferred and the new college semesters have been delayed as well,” he said. Bhardwaj also said that they are waiting for the situation to improve and will conduct the examinations after making an announcement 10 days prior to the commencement. He added that the board will ensure speedy evaluation as soon as the restrictions are uplifted.
Prior to the spread of COVID-19, due to which eight examinations have been postponed, the Board was not able to conduct the examinations on four days due to violence in North East Delhi district. A very small number of students were not able to appear for the examinations on six days.
Earlier, CBSE had released a notification saying that the board will conduct the examinations for only 29 main subjects which are required for promotion and admissions in higher educational institutions.
