The Union HRD Minister asked all the states to start the evaluation process of Board exam answer sheets and facilitate CBSE to evaluate answer sheets of the students in their respective States. According to the reports, Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' along with Minister of State for HRD, Sanjay Dhotre interacted with Education Ministers and Education Secretaries of all the States through video conferencing today i.e. April 28.

Education Ministers of 22 States and secretaries from 14 States and Union Territories attended the conference. Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy Anita Karwal and senior officials of the Ministry were also present in the meeting.

During the meeting, various issues related to the education sectors were discussed. The lockdown imposed due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus resulted in the closure of academic institutions, postponement of exams and delay in results.

While addressing the meeting, the HRD Minister expressed that the prevailing emergency situation in India due to the spread of the deadly virus COVID-19 is unfortunate, but it is time to act wisely and turn the situation into an opportunity by doing new experiments to ensure safety and academic welfare of students.

The decision to begin the evaluation process of the board exam answer sheets along with CBSE suggests that the students don't have to wait longer for the results.

The Union Minister also stated that the efforts generated by the central government, various state governments as well as the education bodies must be focused towards the 33 crore students of the country, who must not face any difficulty and can continue their education. In order to facilitate quality education to the students during these difficult times, the government needs to strengthen the online education platforms.
