Absolutely recommending this college for studying Journalism and Mass communication.
Placements: Averagely 20 of 50 students get good placement. They provide good direction and suggest various programs and internships. But the students must be good in their studies and must get good grades to get such opportunities. They arrange many counciling programs too.
Infrastructure: The hostel fee is pretty affordable; they have a different study room for the hostelers. The senior students are also very helpful, and their is an anti-ragging program. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Many students say that the hostel food is also pretty good, and every week they arrange fests.
Faculty: The teachers of this college are very helpful and lively. The guide students promptly. Also, especially our JMC department organises various interactive programs and competitions like photography competitions, poster-making competitions, and short film-making competitions. This not only enhances our skills but also makes us knowledgeable about these things, which might help us in the future.
Other: I chose this course to study specifically in this college because this is the best department of journalism and mass communication after Ashutosh College. Everything is really good, but the college official staff is very slow at their job, so it takes much time to do anything official here.

Good, but could be better.
Placements: There is no placement as such for Bachelor's in English (Hons). The course rate was fixed for everyone, the only available options were for the elective subjects- that too, the choices were limited. There was a minor confusion in the beginning about electives, but it was eventually sorted out.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi was available. Library was too, but it was sort of limited. I've not really stayed in the hostel, so I don't know about that. The classrooms could be GREATLY improved. If we could get virtual boards/screens for our everyday classes, that would be amazing.
Faculty: The teachers were amazing. They took good care of the students, and attended to our needs whenever required. They were really helpful. The course curriculum was nice, bit I wish there were more options we could choose from. The exams were good and levelled up- that was a good part.

Review of Acharya Prafulla Chandra College.
Placements: Our college provides placements in different sectors like industries, labs, etc. Around 20-30% of students got placed in our college. Many practical-based roles are offered to students.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi does not work well. All labs are decent. Our old classrooms are not good, but the new classrooms are good. The library has many course-related books with good seating arrangements. The food served in the canteen is average. Sports and games are not good in condition.
Faculty: Our college follows the CBCS curriculum. Our faculty members are helpful and well-qualified.

It charges a high fee even if it is a government college.
Placements: Placements are not certain. Our college provides you with opportunities to opt for different career options by conducting various seminars. Career counselling sessions are conducted often.
Infrastructure: The library is small but has a good collection of books. Some classrooms are also small. Jio Wi-Fi is provided throughout the college, but the network is not good. The hostel is available only for OBC students. The canteen is small, but the price is reasonable.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and helpful. The course curriculum is relevant and up-to-date with the latest requirements. Exams are difficult. As the college comes under WBSU, the course curriculum is set to a standard with various other colleges under the same university.
Other: Campus life is good and peaceful. It provides an optimal environment for studying. There is no ragging on campus, but the fee is high.

M.Sc. in Microbiology - Batch of 2022

Our college is good but placements are below average.
Placements: Around one student got placement in Diamond beverage, coca-cola as a microbiologist. The salary package is Rs.20,000 per month. One student got an internship opportunity in fssai Kolkata. So, placement is poor. One has to try hard on own for the job.
Infrastructure: Labs and classrooms are well-equipped. Wi-Fi is available. Library is full of quality books. Hostel and campus are safe and well-cultured. Food quality is average. Medical facilities and sports facilities are available. It has a basketball court, football ground, and swimming pool. Campus area is eye soothing.
Faculty: Professors are very much qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. They are always friendly and empathetic to students. Syllabus was finished on time. This course is mainly note-dependent. Notes were immensely helpful. The course curriculum is student-friendly, but students have to take extra preparation for industries. Semester exams were moderate but one has to cover the whole syllabus thoroughly to get above-average marks.
Other: I chose this course mainly due to my love for Biology and Chemistry. The best thing about this course is it has openings in food as well as pharma industry. If the time for the summer project could be increased it would be great. College fests are always special and we enjoy them greatly. Campus area is beautiful and safe. There is no ragging. Scholarships are available. There are various cultural activities and quizzes was organised.

Infrastructure: Hostel did not have many facilities. The library was available in our college. The girls' hostel was near the college. The canteen, sports, and big ground were available. Facilities provided in our college were average.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful to understand questions during exams. They were qualified to teach students and made them understand easily. Semester exams were quite simple. The pass percentage was 60%. Our college was very strict during exams.
