Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.E. / B.Tech courses at AISSMS College of Engineering?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.E./B.Tech Courses at AISSMS College of Engineering

Based on student reviews and alumni feedback, here's an overview of the effectiveness of the placement cell at AISSMS College of Engineering:

    * Computer Science Branch: Placement cell performance is generally good, with many students getting placed in reputed companies. The highest salary package offered was INR47 LPA, and the lowest was INR3 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Google, and others have recruited students from this branch.

    * Mechanical Branch: While fewer students get placed in core companies, the placement cell tries to bridge the gap by providing training and internships. Students need to have a good score to increase their chances of getting placed.

    * Other Branches: Placement trends vary across branches. While some branches see good placement outcomes, others face challenges. The placement cell's effort is acknowledged, but more needs to be done to improve the situation.

    * Placement Statistics: According to reports, around 85%-90% of students get placed every year. The highest package offered was INR16 LPA, and the lowest was INR4 LPA.

I am not satisfied with faculty members and infrastructure.
Placements: Placements condition in college are worse. Students bring their own internship companies. Only 30% of placements happened in our batch. The highest salary package offered is 4.5 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. There are no top recruiting companies. Most students got GET roles, trainee design engineers, or trainee BIM engineers.
Infrastructure: There are very few facilities, and infrastructure is not so good. Wi-Fi is never working for students. Personal network for phones is also not available, with almost no signal. Canteen food is the worst never eat food from the canteen. There is very little hygiene.
Faculty: Teaching quality is average. They only teach questions and answers that are useful for exams, not for real life. Some teachers are really helpful, but some play politics with students. Only proper and rich students get attention and respect from teachers. The industry uses completely different methods, and curriculum is very different. There are no similarities. Curriculum uses old methods that are not used in the real world. In fact, not even 10% are used in the industry. The industry is very vast, and curriculum is very typical, not reflecting recent industry trends. Semester exams are moderately tough. About 35% is needed for passing.

I am dissatisfied with the faculty. Infrastructure and other facilities are good.
Placements: Around 50% of students in the Civil Engineering course are placed. The highest salary package offered is 7 LPA. The average salary package offered is 2.5 LPA for this course. Companies like Worley, Neilsoft, and other MNCs visited our college to offer placements. Only about 10% of students secured internships for this course.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our college is good. Library is well-stocked with many books. The Civil Engineering department has well-equipped labs and classrooms. Wi-Fi facility is available across the campus. College provides good hostel facilities, with a hygienic mess and canteen. Sports and games facilities are provided in our college.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable, but sometimes they are not helpful. Teaching quality is decent. Course curriculum is relevant and makes students to be industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult, but the teachers help with it. Pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose this college because I secured a scholarship from AICTE. One thing I wish to improve in our course is the teaching staff, as some teachers are really bad. College organizes many fests on campus. Overall, the environment is good.

It is worth for doing Civil engineering in this reputed college.
Placements: In our college, out of 480 students, 300 were placed in the civil engineering branch (Land T, Godrej, Boyce, IRB, etc.). Reputed companies visited for placement in the core branch. 24 students were placed with an average package of 5 LPA and we got an internship in Pune metro. It was also beneficial for every student ready for industry.
Infrastructure: The college has a great campus on the highway, also near a metro station and all types of sports facilities, including Wi-Fi, proper labs with precise instruments, classrooms and well-maintained civil departments that hold all types of instruments. The mess and canteen are also situated on campus with hygienic facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable about industrial requirements but they are not available for teaching. They are busy testing building materials coming from private firms, so it was a tough task to contact them. Curriculum designed for making students easily placed into industries but having tough exams to pass into them.

College life is the best with fascinating environment, infrastructure, and facilities are great
Placements: Approximately 70-80% of students from the Computer Engineering course secure placement through college's placement. The highest package - 10-12 LPA, the lowest package - 3-4 LPA, and the average package - 5-6 LPA. Companies like TCS, Accenture, IBM, and Cognizant recruit students. Internships are not provided up to the mark to students by college, but paid and training courses information is shared. Talking about top roles in computer engineering are Software Developer, Data Analyst, Network Administration, AI/ML Engineer, Cloud Architect, etc.
Infrastructure: The department is well-equipped with modern infrastructure. Campus offers high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity within labs and classrooms. Good computer systems are available in labs. Well-ventilated classrooms with projectors and blackboards ensure interactive learning with students. Library has collection of books (competitive, biography, fictional, all field-related) including e-books. Hostel provides clean and well-maintained rooms with necessary amenities.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, and teaching method is also of good quality. The course curriculum align with industry requirements, covers topics like programming, data structure, networking. Semester exams are not too hard, passing percentage is around 90-95%.
Other: I chose the Computer Engineering course because of my passion for technology and was focused on theoretical knowledge with practical application. Also, opportunities are better in this field. Improvement such as advanced labs should emerge for upcoming technologies. The campus has various technical and non-technical events and also grand fests where students showcase their skills and talents. Campus surrounding is very refreshing and energetic. Scholarships are also applicable for students whose income is low, such as (EBC scholarships).

No, the college is good, but the faculty is not behaving properly to handle the students.
Placements: No one calls from college for placement; they do not have placements more than 2/3 Lakh per annum, so I don't prefer this for placement. We can choose this college for gaining knowledge and search for a job by ourselves. So, I prefer to go to a government college for better placement or to be genuine at the college for education.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi is working in college. There is a major issue with both phone networks and Wi-Fi networks in college. The library is only for reading; we can't even eat something there. It is too strict. No one should talk on phones, and no one should use phones in the library. The classrooms are old models.
Faculty: They don’t teach properly or in-depth, just give an idea about the topic. Most of the students go to tuition for studying, so there is no chance of passing without extra studies. No one can even cheat in the exam; if caught, they are restricted for one year. So, learn hard and score 28/30 marks in the written paper to pass.

It's one of the best colleges after COEP and VIT.
Placements: College isn't good for Civil and Mechanical branch students due to the lack of good placement opportunities. Students only get placement opportunities in the IT sector. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, and other mass-recruiting companies select candidates who know about IT sector programming languages. No Civil and Mechanical core branch students are selected.
Infrastructure: Facilities are at an average level, not as good as other colleges in Pune. However, the campus is very vast for sports events. The library is not maintained well, and hostel facilities are very expensive, not affordable for middle-class students. Also, the college lacks proper mess facilities, unlike NIT, where the canteen food is not hygienic.
Faculty: Faculty members are also not good because everyone is newly recruited and they are on a contract basis, so they are unfamiliar with the syllabus. Additionally, the industrial requirement course curriculum is not good, there are no marks for projects and internships, so it is tough to get passed.
