Amrita School of Engineering Bengaluru provides Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. These scholarships are based on economic need, merit, equal opportunity, and also affirmative actions for socially backward groups. The scholarship policy does not discriminate against students or even scholars based on gender, gender preference, caste, age, faith, or even disability. Below is the summary of the criteria that play a crucial role in making the scholarship decisions:
- Socially Backward Communities
The university is greatly committed to affirmative actions for backward groups such as OBC, SC/ST, and other such groups that are approved by the Government of India. A certain percentage of such groups will always be receiving scholarships each year.
- Merit
Top students in any of the schools are eligible for this scholarship consideration. To avail of and become eligible for the merit scholarship benefit, students must provide proof of academic and scholarly accomplishments. The percentile of students receiving this scholarship depends upon the school and area of specialisation.
- Special Disadvantaged Groups
The Special Disadvantaged groups include women, those with disabilities, and others. These groups are not treated with any discrimination and are afforded an equal opportunity for scholarship.
Scholarship Application Process
The students must contact the departmental office and submit the filled-out application form. The department will provide several students with a list of scholarship scheme options available for them. The students are responsible for submitting all the necessary documentation based on these scholarship schemes. Such documentation includes government-approved proofs for members of Backward communities, proof of merit, recommendation letters for merit scholarships, and any other necessary documentation for special disadvantaged groups.
