On JEE Main Cutoffs

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Absolutely good in teaching and good placement every year.
Placements: Placed students from our college have a percentile above 7.5, but they also have good communication skills and technical skills. I think the highest package in the college was 20 LPA, and the lowest package is 2.5 to 3 LPA. Our college has a good campus. There is no specific criteria for placement in our college, like only students with 9 percentile or above giving the campus tests; all students give the campus tests.
Infrastructure: We have good faculty members in our college. They teach both technical and communication skills. They also share different platforms for students' practice purposes. The college has an infrastructure ground and also a cultural and sports committee. After college time, students use that ground for exercise and playing purposes.
Faculty: Our college gives all knowledge related to industries and placement-related topics. In our college, they give preference to activities like communication, group discussions, and presentations, which are part of activity-based exams. College exam criteria are Mid-semester, ISE activity 1, ISE activity 2, and End-semester.
Other: I think there is nothing that I wish to improve in my college. We have a good campus, placements, good faculty, good teaching staff, and plenty of resources. Placed students from our institution are in good and famous companies like TCS, Capgemini, Accenture, and many more.

Quality Education and Facilities.
Placements: Our college has more placements in our region and the maximum package is up to 12 Lacs, and the minimum is up to 4 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies are Accenture, TCS, CapGemini. Many students get internship opportunities from our college. We can apply for many government exams like Transco, Genco, Discom, and Staff Selection. There are more than 75 students who get placement each year.
Infrastructure: Our college has Wi-Fi, well-organized labs, and classrooms. We also have a big library. The food available in the canteen is also good, and our college is also active in sports and games. Our college has good infrastructure. There are lab sessions for batches, so teachers can focus on particular students and improve their performance in labs and the curriculum.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good, and teachers are well-qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. The curriculum is relevant. If we do studies regularly, then it is easy to pass exams. Teachers are cooperative, and teaching is the best. The curriculum makes students industry-ready. Semester exams include ISE, MSE, and ESE.
Other: Our college's events and organizations are the best. Students get many scholarships, and there are many extracurricular activities to showcase our talent. The college campus is large and eco-friendly.

Satisfy faculty members, but training and placement cells should improve.
Placements: As we are the first batch of AI students in this department, I don't have any idea about the students placed in our course. The highest package was 20 lacs per annum, and the lowest package was around 2 lacs with an average package of 4-5 lacs. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, etc.
Infrastructure: There are 4-5 hostels on the college campus, all of which have very good infrastructure. The food available in all the hostels is average; therefore, hostelers prefer to go outside of the campus for mess. The Sports Complex has excellent sports equipment.
Faculty: All the teaching and non-teaching faculty members are well qualified, knowledgeable, and teach really well. The course curriculum is mostly related to the company's requirements; it helps students be industry-ready. Exams are hard, and I guess the pass percentage is around 80–90.
Other: As an AI student, I want to be ready for the next industrial challenges.

Best Facilities and Infrastructure.
Placements: The 2023-24 batch had 130+ students, and more than 110 students were placed. The placements are good in our college. The best part is that for third-year students, companies are ready to place them. The minimum package is 4 to 6 Lacs, and the highest is near 14 to 17 Lacs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the labs and hostels is the best. There are 5 hostels in our college and more than 100 labs. The best facilities are provided by our college. The best part is that there is one ladies’ hostel, which is very good, and the facilities are the best. For boys, there are also good hostels.
Faculty: The curriculum is the best, and all curriculums are on time. All exams are conducted by our college because it's autonomous. The syllabus is designed by the college itself because it's autonomous. The college designs its own curriculum and also manages all other activities.
Other: There are many extracurricular activities like gatherings and sports.

Overall, the college is excellent.
Placements: Placements begin in the 7th semester. Companies like TATA and INFOSYS visit, offering 20–30 offers per year. The highest packages are around 30 lacs; the average is 8 lacs. About 80% of students get placed. Post-degree, I plan to pursue further studies or explore startup opportunities.
Infrastructure: Campus life is vibrant with festivals like Techfest (January) and Cultfest (March). The library offers extensive books and journals. Classrooms are equipped with modern technology. Sports and extracurriculars include diverse activities. Student-run clubs and portals that enhance engagement and networking are there.
Faculty: The course curriculum is well-structured and comprehensive, covering essential and advanced topics. It stays updated with industry trends, ensuring relevance. However, some areas might benefit from more practical, hands-on experience. The faculty is very friendly with students.
Other: My batch is graduating in 2027, pursuing a B.Tech. in Computer Science. I chose this course for its industry relevance and growth opportunities. The best aspects include a cutting-edge curriculum and a strong faculty. Improvements could be more hands-on projects. Events like Techfest and Cultfest are highlights, with vibrant campus life and good connectivity. Scholarships are available, and extracurriculars are diverse and engaging.

A good choice if you have an average score in the entrance exam.
Placements: More than 20 companies visited our campus, but the selection rate is low. This simply indicates that the placement department is trying its best, but academics are doing badly somewhere. Although this is getting better nowadays, you can prefer this college if you really have the potential to do something.
Infrastructure: Old Boys' Hostels are not good at all, but the new ones are quite good. You can take rooms outside the campus at the same price and with better services. While talking about academic infrastructure, it's getting better day by day, like they are upgrading computer systems and other facilities.
Faculty: Some are supportive, but some are just here for politics. The majority of staff will sometimes discourage you and will not understand you. But some are supportive, who will definitely support you until your placements, so overall it's good in the view of all.
