Army Institute of Fashion and Design (AIFD) was set-up by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) in 2004. It is located in Kothanur, Bengaluru and is affiliated to Bangalore North University. Currently, it offers BSc and MSc programmes at the UG and PG level, respectively. AIFD was ranked 11 and 13 for Fashion Design by The Week 2020 and India Today 2020, respectively. The institute focuses on offering excellent technical and professional education in the field of Fashion Designing and Apparel Management.
AIFD Admission Process 2021
AIFD admission process usually begins in February, every year. Admission process for both the programmes is online. Some of the quick facts regarding AIFD admission process are mentioned below:Â Â
- AIFD BSc admission is subject to a candidate's performance in an online entrance conducted by the institute
- Admission to the MSc programme is based on an entrance exam conducted by AIFD, followed by a Personal Interview (PI) roundÂ
- 10% seats are resevered for Karnataka Civilians in BSc programme
- 25% of the total seats are reserved for civilians in MSc programme
AIFD BSc Admission 2021
AIFD offers a three-year BSc programme in Fashion and Apparel Design. It has an annual intake of 60 students. AIFD BSc admission is based on an institute-based entrance exam, i.e. CBT. It is of 100 marks and is divided into two parts. Part A comprises 70 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 70 marks and Part B consists of creative work which is of 30 marks. The duration of the test is three hour and has the following components:
- Logic and Analytical Skills Test
- General Awareness Test
- English Language Competency & Comprehension Test

AIFD MSc Admission 2021
The institute offers MSc programme in a single specialisation with a duration of two years. The annual intake of MSc programme is 20. AIFD Application Process 2021

The Online Admission Test (OAT) or AIFD WAT 2025 test will be conducted in April 2025 (10 am - 1 pm). The exam will be administered in a computer-based mode. The result of AIFD WAT 2024 will be declared in May 2025 (tentative).
