Army Institute of Fashion and Design Scholarships and Funding
The eligibility conditions for Education Scholarship Scheme for Army Personnel (ESSA)is as follows:
a) Serving Army personnel children not attained 25 years of age at the time of completion of class/course from class IX to PG level of education studying in Govt/Recognised Private Educational Institutions.
b) Wards of Retired Army Personnel, Territorial Army personnel (TA) and deceased Army personnel are not eligible
Method of Selection:
Cut off percentages/ grades for various classes and categories are given below:
Class IX-X Officers- A1/91 JCOs- A2/81 OR- B1/71
Class XI-XII Officers- 90 JCOs- 87 OR- 72
Graduation Officers- 75 JCOs- 75 OR- 60
PG/ Professional Courses Officers- 75 JCOs- 75 OR- 60
All children above cut off percentages of marks would be awarded scholarship
Rates of Scholarships:
The rates of scholarships, based on the level of education for all categories are as under:
Class IX - XII Rs. 1500/- per annum
Graduation Rs. 2500/- per annum
Professional/ PG Courses Rs. 6000 per annum
Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme (PMSS)
Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme was introduced from the Academic year 2006-07 to encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards of Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard personnel and their widows (below officer rank only).
A total number of 5500 students will be selected equally for boys & girls (ie. 2750 each)
Students Eligible for Scholarship
a) Students should have scored 60% and above in Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) i.e 10+2 / Diploma / Graduation.
b) Students studying in 2nd and subsequent years are not eligible
c) Students who are Dependent Wards / Widows of Ex-Servicemen & Ex-Coast Guard personnel who died in harness / disabled due to causes attributable to military service/ coast guard service, irrespective of the rank
d) Dependent wards of Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard personnel and their widows (below officer rank only)
e) Wards of Civilians including Para-Military Personnel are not eligible.
Candidates can apply for the scholarship at www.ksb.gov.in
Selection Procedure
The applications will be shortlisted based on the category of Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard (as given in Para 7 below) and percentage of marks obtained in MEQ. Merit List of selected students will be uploaded on KSB Website www.ksb.gov.in
Minimum Marks in MEQ should be 60%
One to five years as the duration of the course approved by the concerned Regulatory Body subject to clearing exams every year in first attempt. Scholarship will be stopped in case of failure or re-appearance in any subject during the course
Amount of scholarship:
Rs. 2000/month for boys
Rs. 2250/month for girls

IIFT Bangalore BSc college comparison is based on total tuition fees charged and the seat intake in comparison to BSc programme offered at Army Institute of Fashion and Design. IIFT Bangalore BSc fees is INR 6.60 Lacs while Army Institute of Fashion and Design charges INR 6.12 lakh.

The Online Admission Test (OAT) or AIFD WAT 2025 test will be conducted in April 2025 (10 am - 1 pm). The exam will be administered in a computer-based mode. The result of AIFD WAT 2024 will be declared in May 2025 (tentative).
On the day of the exam, the candidate needs to report at the exam centre

There are three sections in the exam: Reasoning, General Awareness and English Competency. The candidate must prepare for the exam as per the official syllabus only. It is because questions in the exam will be asked from the syllabus updated on the admission portal.
