SRMIST to Host the International Physiotherapy Conference and the SRM International Hand Conclave 2026
The SRM College of Physiotherapy, SRMIST, hosted the International Physiotherapy Conference 2026 (IPC 2026) at its Kattankulathur campus. This is a major event for academics, which will bring together more than 3,000 healthcare experts from all over the world.
The International Physiotherapy Conference and International Hand Conclave 2026 goal is to bring together top physiotherapists, clinicians, researchers, academics, and students from all over the world.
An impressive group of internationally known experts will be at the conference, including:
- Dr. Raja Sabapathy, President of the International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand and Chairman of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Ganga Hospital
- Prof. Sallie Lamb is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Exeter
- Dr. Esther Williamson is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and the University of Exeter
- Dr. Cynthia Swarnalatha, Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and the University of Exeter
- Dr. Asmare Yitayeh Gelaw, Ph.D., is an epidemiologist at the National Centre for Healthy Ageing and an adjunct research fellow at Monash University in Australia.
The main goal of the conference is to improve physiotherapy education and practice around the world through collaboration, new ideas, and high academic standards. The theme focuses on preparing physiotherapists for the future by incorporating sustainability, professional values, and global standards into education and clinical practice.
The International Hand Conclave 2026 will run at the same time as the International Hand Conclave 2026. The theme will be "Re-Hand," which will encourage people to think about, learn about, and imagine new ways to treat upper limb injuries in a healthcare system that is changing quickly.
The event will last for three days and will include:
- Keynote talks by experts from around the world and the US that give you new ideas
- Presentations of scientific papers and panel discussions
- Sessions that focus on new trends in physiotherapy and rehabilitation
- Chances to learn, work together, and network with people from different fields
The conference is meant to be a place for professionals to share ideas and learn from each other. It is expected to draw a wide range of people from around the world, encouraging discussion about the future of physiotherapy education and clinical excellence.
IPC & IHC 2026 will be a major step toward changing how physiotherapy is taught and practised worldwide. It will focus on new ideas, ethics, and global points of view.
