Our college provides helpful faculty members and nice atmosphere.
Placements: Placement cell rarely provides information about recruiting companies. None of the students were placed. The top recruiting company was Cognizant.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel in the college. Psychology classrooms and labs are good. Library facilities are not good because the librarian is not helpful. Wi-Fi connection in the library is very good. Canteen is fine and the food quality is good. There is a games room.
Faculty: The pass percentage is 33% and it's under CU. Semester exams were tough. The course curriculum is relevant but doesn't make students industry-ready. Teachers are helpful, knowledgeable, and qualified.
Other: Events and fests were fun. There are no extracurricular activities except annual sports day or annual programs.

This is college of heritage, and a royal place.
Placements: It is the best college under Calcutta University (NIRF 2021 ranked 77th college) and has a good placement record. The college has its placement cell. The CRS of the departments is added in groups from the very first year of their college to let them know all ongoing recruitments from the college as well.
Infrastructure: The old buildings of the campus give you the vintage feeling- the royal Kolkata feels. The classrooms have long windows and long-hanging fans which one finds in some old movies. The college has two libraries filled with books on different subjects. All the science departments are having their separate labs, and the campus has Wi-Fi as well. The canteen food is affordable and too good for everyone.
Faculty: My knowledge is too little to judge the respected professors. All I can say is the college has highly educated professors who are not only handling the academics but also various co-curricular in the college. Professors are approachable and solve the doubts without making you feel guilty about not understanding a topic at once. The exams level is quite higher, and the college always wants to hold its dignity of having studious pupils with success.
Other: I chose this course because I want to know more about human tendencies at their various emotions. I want more people to open up about mental health.

The best government college for women in India with great heritage and culture.
Placements: There are several students who got placement from our college from the companies like TCS, cognizant which visit our college for recruitment but most of the students are really not interested in placements after B.Sc. or M.Sc. as all of them opt for higher studies and do research. Those who get placement are offered around 4-5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. The classrooms are quite clean and well managed. The library is parted in two ways, first is Science Library and second is the Arts or Humanistic Library. Both are quite large and there are several books regarding all subjects and department. The library has a very calm environment. There is a canteen in our college where we get good quality food with cheap price, and the premises is very clean and well managed. The facility of home delivery (only for students of PG or Mess near college) is available. The college has a renowned reputation for executing extracurricular activities including sports, creative writing, photography, and other cultural activities. There are many clubs regarding these activities which encourage students to participate and enhance their skills. The College Fest "ALAP", an intercollege competition is organized every year. Besides that, department based cultural programmes ( fresher's welcome inauguration, teachers day, farewell inauguration), and some other cultural activities (Rabindra Jayanti etc. ) are slso celebrated. In short, our college is full of culture, education and heritage.
Faculty: In the department of psychology, there are 4 highly qualified and well knowledgeable professors, who always help us to enhance our knowledge and perform better than we do. They give us many ppts, docx and PDFs as study materials which are very helpful. The practical classes are also taken with great care and they always try to teach us as their best. The class discussions and lectures are always very informative. Sometimes for the study purpose, they used to show us some movies regarding one appropriate topic which helps us to understand the topic very well. They always conduct the doubt clearance sessions after covering the syllabus. Mentoring classes are held to guide us.
Other: I chose the B.Sc. course of psychology because I always wanted to know more about this subject and if you ask, 'why Bethune College? '. Then I would like to say that I was very much affectionate about this college since childhood for the reputation, culture and the heritage of this college. This is the first women's college in India where many famous ancient women studied and made their future such as Kadambini Ganguli, Chandramukhi Basu and many more. But all the colleges have some flaws, our college also have some too, but those are very little so that it never put an impact. But as adviced, I want to say that the college students are not allowed to use the lift facility in the college. I think it should be given then the students can get a lot of benefits, especially for the disabled students. There are many scholarship schemes available for students such as SVCSM, NSP, OASIS etc. Students who are eligible always can apply for those scholarship schemes. The college always helps us regarding the scholarship purpose.

The college is average and slightly overhyped.
Placements: Most students went for higher studies either in or out of Kolkata. None of the students opted for placements. The average salary offered to a few students was around Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,00 per month. I don't have much idea about the top recruiting companies. But most of the IT companies hired students who are capable of speaking and understanding English and who are proficient at communicating through phone calls. Most students do not take up these jobs and look for a better job with a higher salary, or they go for higher studies. None of the students got any internships. One can personally take up a paid internship, and the college had nothing to do with it. Most students intern in a hospital or counselling centre.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Bethune is bad since it is an old college, but it is renovated from time to time. Wi-Fi facilities weren't available when I was studying. However, labs, classrooms and libraries were available, all of which were built later on to accommodate the growing student population and to provide them with as many facilities as possible. But, none of those was very well-maintained, and as a result, they were shabby. There's no hostel facility in Bethune, but everything else is available here. However, the quality of the facilities isn't up to the mark. Canteen food is slightly below average but not bad. Medical facilities were below average. Sports and games were given much importance, but the space available wasn't up to the mark.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were cooperative, more than helpful, but they had immense knowledge in the subject. The problem is that they hardly take classes, but when they conduct classes, they are usually exciting. The course curriculum is more theory-based, and the practicals were not updated at that time. I feel the course curriculum suffices one's academic requirements, not necessarily making students industry-ready.
Other: The course was chosen out of interest, even before the pros and cons of the institution. Psychology is an immensely interesting subject, and yet one needs to have the aptitude to be able to be persistent while pursuing this course. I would focus more on practicals and exposures since the subject is an applied science, rather than sticking to the books. Events and fests are almost organised in our college. The campus crowd is mixed, and I have hardly noticed any bias based on caste, class or socio-economic background. The campus surrounding is filled with eateries. Extracurricular activities are encouraged, but the opportunities provided were average. The scholarship was given once based on the socio-economic background, but I haven't heard about it during my three years.

A reputed college with great facilities.
Placements: I'm not much aware of the placement opportunities but have heard a lot of good reviews from the previous students. It's one of the most reputed colleges in Kolkata. Most of the toppers of Calcutta University are from Bethune. Hence, the place is good for the students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good if we ignore the washroom facility. The classrooms are good. The library is quite large with a great number of books for each of the subjects. The college has a good reputation for organising extra co-curricular activities including sports and games. The college fest named Alaap is organised every year. The college also makes sure to encourage the students to take part in the fest of other colleges too. If you visit the college, you'll find many trees on the entire campus.
Faculty: The psychology department has only 4 teachers, which is not a good thing since it offers a postgraduate course in psychology. But the teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They try to cover the syllabus with this less number of faculty. The classes are conducted well. Many films are shown regarding the subject, which might help the students to understand the subject. Many discussions are held every day.
