    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Course Curriculum Structure at College of Engineering Perumon

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the course curriculum structure at College of Engineering Perumon:

    * Theory-focused: According to multiple reviewers, the curriculum focuses more on theory than practical applications. This may lead to a lack of hands-on experience and industry-readiness.
    * KTU university curriculum: The college follows the curriculum prescribed by Kerala Technical University (KTU), which is updated every four years.
    * Two-semester system: The academic year is divided into two semesters, with exams held after each semester.
    * Series exams: In addition to semester exams, there are internal exams called "series exams" that assess students' progress throughout the semester.
    * Practical knowledge: While the curriculum may focus on theory, the mechanical lab provides practical knowledge of the subject, with both internal and external lab exams.
    * Not industry-ready: Reviewers mentioned that the curriculum does not prepare students adequately for the industry, making it essential for students to seek additional learning opportunities through workshops, industrial visits, and internships.

Overall, the course curriculum at College of Engineering Perumon seems to prioritize theoretical knowledge over practical applications, although there are efforts to incorporate laboratory work and assessments to evaluate students' progress. However, students and alumni alike agree that the curriculum could benefit from greater emphasis on industry-readiness and practical applications.

Review of College of Engineering, Perumon.
Placements: The average package is INR 3.5 lacs. Recruiting companies are CTS, Infosys, and so on. Only service-based companies would hire. There is a nice environment around the college, and I like the environment. Nature lovers will enjoy the campus. There is also a lake near the campus.
Infrastructure: There is almost good infrastructure. A nice football field, volleyball court, and basketball court are also there. There is a nice campus and a nature-friendly campus with a lot of environmental elements. There is also a lake near to the college. Nice sports and camps are done.
Faculty: Exams are conducted on time. The exam cell is good. Semester exams are based at KTU University. Exams are not so tough. But exams are conducted frequently, which increases student stress while studying. Friendly faculty members are present and teach well based on concepts.
Other: Campus life is not that good to enjoy, but not so bad, along with good friends. Nice campus and friendly teachers are there.

I am satisfied with this college because of good placements, infrastructure, and faculty members.
Placements: Many students get placed in our college. Our college placement rate is high. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, etc. The highest salary package offered is 15 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 10 LPA. Almost 80% of students got internships from our course at Wipro.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is excellent. Wi-Fi facility is available at high speed in our college. Labs are top-notch. The food served in the canteen is good and tasty. Our college provides medical facilities. Hostels are good. Toilets are very clean and tidy. Our college supports students in sports and games.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, friendly, and well-qualified. Our teachers are good. Their teaching quality is good. Semester exams are tough. The course curriculum makes students industry-ready. The pass percentage of our college is 80%.
Other: I opted for this course because it is the best course.

    Everything about Perumon College.
Placements: After the 8th semester, the students need to have 8 or 8.5 CGPA and above for placement. The highest package offered is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Sort, Tata, etc. In Computer Science, role of software developer is the top role offered. Placements are done through a lot of tests and interviews. Percentage of students getting internships is 65%.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available and the college has good lab facilities. All the textbooks and reference books are available in the library. There is currently no college hostel available. But there are rooms and houses available near the college area. The food is okay. A lot of sports and game activities are present in the college.
Faculty: The teachers of the CS department are very helpful and have good knowledge. I was a biology student who didn’t know anything about coding but the faculty helped me. The faculty is good and very helpful. Some of the semester exams are tough while the others are easy. It depends on how much effort you guys put in. If you understand the concepts, it's easy.
Other: Thinking of the future of CS is getting a lot of scope. We can learn more about the tech world which is cool. The college only provides us the basic stuff. It is our responsibility and interest to learn other stuff than the college subjects, to go out of our comfort zone and learn more. College fest is the best ever. Perumon college is known for its fest. It has a big campus area. A lot of events from clubs like IEEE, CSI, IEDC, Tinkerhub, etc. are held. Scholarship is available.

CEP is the second-best college in Kollam. As CEPian, it's a good experience.
Placements: College of engineering Perumon is a college in kollam, Kerala. This college has an average placement cell. Placement cell is active in this college. It provides placement oriented classes for 3rd and 4th year students. Most of the students attending this class are placed in so many big companies with maximum 6LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of this college is below average. It is not that good. Buildings are average. This college has 25 acres of land. But college has no hostel. Only homestays are available here. Homestays have boring food and there are so many other problems in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers in this college are supportive, friendly and qualified. Teaching quality is average. But they are trying to make this college a school. That's the most the worst experience I got from this college. Exams are not a problem here. Series exams are not a problem. Semester exams are quite tough to pass.

Review of College of Engineering Perumon.
Placements: Placements are good. Top IT companies like Infosys and TCS have recruited at our college. As the companies are mainly IT-oriented, students from the computer or IT department have first priority. There are many other small and top companies that offer quite a lot of placement opportunities for every branch.
Infrastructure: The department block is quite old and in poor condition, but it is still better than other blocks. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus, but you need the permission of the authorities to get the password. There is no official college hostel, but there are many private hostels nearby for boys and girls that provide good and hygienic food.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful and well-qualified. They cleared up all our doubts. The curriculum is almost entirely theoretical and provides little practical knowledge. Series exams are quite easy and only need to refer to notes, but we also need to refer to external sources for getting good marks in semester exams.
Other: They conduct good cultural festivals.

Very good college with excellent facilities, faculties, and proper quality of education.
Placements: There is a good percentage of students who got placed in the previous year, and the average package is 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies are UST Global, Infosys, Wipro, and many more. The top roles offered are software engineering and developer. The majority of placements are secured by computer science and electronics and communication engineering students.
Infrastructure: Each department has free wifi and smart classrooms. One thing I dislike is that there are no college hostel facilities. The lab and other infrastructure are very good and spacious. The college canteen is nice and offers good food. Each lab is well-maintained with AC and has a good atmosphere.
Faculty: The faculties are very friendly. They have a good relationship with each student and help everyone solve their problems, manage skills, and provide career guidance. There are two internal exams before the university exam, and we have to maintain good marks for our internals. If we couldn’t achieve good marks, there is an improvement test to attain better marks before the university exam, preparing everyone for the final exams.
Other: I chose B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering because of the wide range of opportunities it offers. This course is very suitable for IT fields, core electronics fields, and telecommunications fields. The college conducts a technical fest each year called Advyka. The fest is very famous, and many students from other colleges participate and enjoy the program.
