Campus placements are not offered in our department as the college is new, However, we hope that the number of placements will increase as the college gets some reputation.

This is my honest review of my college, Coochbehar Government Engineering College.
Placements: The placement rate of our college is a maximum of 80 to 90%. While the majority of students secure jobs, the quality of placement can vary significantly across branches. The college attracts plenty of companies for recruitment annually, including Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Wipro, etc. The average package offered is around 6 to 7 LPA, while the highest package has gone up to 15 LPA. Most offers are in the range of 3 to 5 LPA. 90% of students got internships from our college, and the companies are Amazon, Google, Wipro, PayPal, etc.
Infrastructure: The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including well-maintained laboratories, a first-rate library, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The classrooms are modern and spacious. The hostel serves regular meals, including lunch and dinner, while the food is hygienic. Students feel the need for more variety.
Faculty: Faculty members are generally approachable and supportive, offering guidance for projects, internships, and career advice. The engineering curriculum is designed to provide a theoretical foundation and practical skills. Course subjects are completed with electives, which make the students industry-ready. While the exam schedule is well-structured, the pressure can be intense due to overlapping dates for projects, assignments, and tests.
Other: I chose the Electronics and Communication department because it is a very interesting department due to my love for integrated theoretical concepts and practical applications in areas like telecommunications, embedded systems, and robotics. Graduates can pursue careers in sectors like telecommunications, semiconductor industries, automation, or higher studies in specialized fields like VLSI or IoT.

My college is good for study at low cost, which makes it good.
Placements: Minimum 65 percent of students were placed every year. The highest package is 48 Lacs per annum, the lowest package is 6 Lacs per annum, and the average package is 18 Lacs per annum. L&T, Cognizant, Adani, IBM, Flipkart recruit our college students. 58 percent of students got internships from my course. They got internships in IBM, Flipkart, Indian Railway, PWD. Automotive engineer, Robotics engineer, Manufacturing engineer, Maintenance engineer were offered in my course.
Infrastructure: Yes, we have free Wi-Fi connection for every student. Our classrooms are very advanced and clean. There are projectors, computers, and AC in our classrooms. Our hostel is very clean, especially our B.Ed rooms. The food quality in the hostel is average. Dal, rice, chicken, or vegetables are served as our daily food in the canteen. We get snacks, tea, coffee, and bread at very low cost. There are primary medical facilities, and we have a huge playground in our college. We also have many active clubs for sports like football, cricket, volleyball, etc.
Faculty: Our teachers at CGEC are a mixed bag. Some are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, making complex subjects easier to understand. They're always willing to help and clear doubts. The curriculum at CGEC is a decent blend of theoretical and practical knowledge. Core engineering subjects are well-covered.

CGEC review by 2024 batch (CSE).
Placements: The college is very poor if you consider on-campus placement. In 2024, not a single company visited our campus. But many students get placed off-campus. The highest package in our batch was 9 LPA, and the average was 3-4 LPA. 10-15 students got off-campus placement out of 62 students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was not so good because it's a new college. An efficient amount of classrooms are there. There is only one library, but there are no relevant books in that. The canteen is present on campus but has been close since 2-3 years.
Faculty: Faculty is average. The course curriculum is outdated and needs improvement according to recent technology. There are 4 CA exams in which you can score easily and a final semester exam. You can easily get good marks in these semester exams if you study well for 7 days before the exam.

I had an incredible experience at Coochbehar Government Engineering College.
Placements: 90% students were placed in our college. The highest package offered in our college was 10 LPA. The lowest package offered in our college was 4 LPA, and the average package offered in our college was 5 to 7 LPA. There were many types of companies recruiting in our college, i.e., L&T, Lumex, Jai Balaji, etc. A maximum of 95% students got internships from our college, and they got internships in IISCON, Internshala, etc. The top roles offered in our college were field engineer, maintenance, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure in our department are excellent, and there are Wi-Fi, workshops, labs, and a library also available. The hostel facilities are good, and the food is excellent in the hostel mess and canteen. There are many facilities in our college, like sports (i.e., cricket, football, volleyball, etc.). Medical fitness is also available.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable, and they are well-qualified. The teachers' teaching quality is excellent. Yes, this course curriculum is relevant. There is also a lot of scope for the industry. The semester exams in our college are nothing much. The percentage to pass in our college is 60%.
Other: Because of the very bright future, this course is very helpful for our life. I wish it were better about my course's faculty members. Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarship, extracurricular activities, etc.

The college is not very bad but it will be very good if some needs are met.
Placements: Placement here is very bad, placement is very less, few people got placement. Their average package is 4 LPA. No internship is given by the college, everyone does an internship on their own. Everyone from our department works in IT, many with off-campus jobs.
Infrastructure: In this college, we have very few faculty in the electronics and communication department, but there are many lab materials and there is an AC system in the labs. The classroom is clean enough and the class has a fan and light. Hostel is for the fourth year only.
Faculty: Our faculty in this department is very less, and the academic faculty in the college is less, the faculty is very lazy. The teachers of our department are very helpful and prepare well for the semester. They are very serious about class. Some classes are conducted by guest faculty members for less faculty members.
Other: I got admission in this course because I had a distinct interest in the engineering department. Besides, through this department, electrical and computer Science courses are also available.

Average faculty members, Placements are below average, lacking improvements.
Placements: Placements vary every year. Like 20-30% of Core branches (including mine: EE) get placed on-campus, and the rest of the Non-Core branches get around 40-45% from on-campus placements. Top recruiting companies for Core are L&T, TEECL, offering Graduate Engineer Trainee roles. The highest package in Core is around 6-7 LPA, and the lowest is around 3 LPA. Most students in Core go for training from every Core branch; rarely do they go for internships in companies like TATA Power. The top role in my course is only: GET (Graduate Engineer Trainee).
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi throughout the whole campus. Labs are average, and classrooms are well-equipped with infrastructure (like projectors, boards). A digital library is available, and there's much space in the library building. Hostels for girls are available from the first year, but for boys, they are available from the 4th year only. The canteen has not been open for the last 3 years due to internal issues. Hostel mess food is average, and no medical facilities are available. There are 2 big open grounds for sports and gaming.
Faculty: Most skilled teachers are in Non-Core branches (ECE, CSE). All of the faculty members either have Ph.D. degrees or graduated from IITs or NITs. Teaching varies from teacher to teacher. The course curriculum is relevant, but it depends on the job role you are looking for, and yes, it does not make students industry-ready. You have to work for yourself; don't rely on the college teachers. Semester exams are managed by the university board: MAKAUT. The difficulty level is 3.5/5. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose Electrical because I wanted to study it from childhood, and the best thing about Electrical is that one has to study most of the engineering subjects, so one can be prepared to switch between core and non-core easily. To improve my course, they should add more practical classes and a proper PC setup for core software testing. Events are like: Saraswati Puja, Annual Tech cum cultural fest - Esperenza, Freshers welcome - Croeso, etc. The campus crowd is minimal, being near a village. Connectivity with the main road is good, and the surroundings look beautiful being on the bank of the Torsha River. Scholarships like OASIS, SVMCM are available if you're eligible. Extracurricular activities are generally done by the clubs of the college (like music, quiz, sports, etc. clubs) and units like NSS, where both teachers and students contribute.
