Worth the Investment?

After analyzing the reviews and feedback from current students and alumni, we've identified key strengths and weaknesses to help you decide whether a Bachelor's degree from D.A.V. (PG) College, Dehradun is worth the investment.

Pros:
* Low Fee Structure: With a fee of INR25,000, this college offers an affordable option for students.
* Good Infrastructure: The college has modern classrooms, libraries, and laboratories, making it suitable for learning.
* Helpful Teachers: Students praise the faculty for their dedication, knowledge, and willingness to assist.
* Campus Life: Students enjoy various extracurricular activities, including sports, cultural events, and debates.

Cons:
* Limited Placement Opportunities: As a government college, placements are limited, and many students do not receive job offers through the college.

* Course Curriculum: A few students feel that the curriculum could be improved to make graduates more industry-ready.
* Limited Internship Opportunities: Currently, the college does not offer internships, which might limit practical exposure.

DAV is a good college because it's a government college and it's very cheap.
Placements: Almost 80% of students are doing jobs. The highest package is 10 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS and Toshiba, etc. Most students do internships according to their skills. Most of the students want to do business or get a government job; that's why they take admission to DAV.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good, and they always help us learn about the course. The classrooms are good, and the library is pretty decent. Sports in college are very helpful for those who want to play more. Most students want to play on the national team, and this college provides you with the opportunity to take part at the national level.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful; they always help us. Their teaching quality is very good; we understand everything that they teach us. Sometimes the exams are very hard, but our teachers teach us so well that we know how to write answers and how to describe everything asked in the question.
Other: I chose B.Com because I want to do business and do a job in banking sector.

The worst college I've ever seen in my life with dirty classes and poor faculty members.
Placements: They don't have campus placement; you need to find a job on your own. This college is only known for politics. This college is only good for those students who want to pursue something else. If you want to get campus placement, no company has been invited by our college authority to give you a chance at direct placement.
Infrastructure: Dirty classes they just have big basketball court, a big building for classes and dirty, filthy washrooms. They are not well organized, and they don't have digital board, which they said they have. And other people on other website are provided with the wrong information.
Faculty: I don't find any faculty knowledgeable; they just share their childhood stories and don't teach properly. And if any faculty member is knowledgeable, then classes will not be held on time. Faculty is only helpful for non-educational purposes, like if you lost your ID card and you want a new one.
Other: The worst college I've ever seen in my life.

According to the fees charged for the year, the college and the infrastructure is satisfying.
Placements: No one gets a job or placement from then college, but the students can apply for jobs themselves. The average package offered in B.Com is around 25 to 30 thousand per month. The top role offered is that of accountant in any field from this course. There are 50% chances that you will get an internship.
Infrastructure: Hostel facility is not available. In my department, the infrastructure is good which had smart classes available for a few days when I took admission. A library is also available but nowadays it is under construction. A canteen is available but only fast food is provided there.
Faculty: The faculty in my department is very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is also good but only 3 classes are held nowadays. The passing percentage is 33%. Semester exams are not difficult, internal exams are easy but the external exams are difficult.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in accounts and the best thing about this course is that it teaches us how to do business.

A good college to pursue a degree.
Placements: Placement is not good in our college. Students should apply themselves to companies, as no companies come for campus placement. Our college only provides internships for law students to learn and develop skills under reputed law firms. If anybody just wants to pursue the degree, they can take admission.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very poor. Old classrooms and labs are present. This college is run by the state government, so poor quality of infrastructure is provided. No Wi-Fi facility is available. A big library is provided for students. Better facilities are provided for sports athletes.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and knowledgeable; they help students secure better placements in big firms. The course curriculum is good and competitive. Semester exams are very difficult. To achieve a good percentage, students should study extensively throughout the semester. The passing criteria are 40 percent in each semester.

College does not provide many useful courses but is useful for personality development.
Placements: The placement percentage at my college is very low. Only 2–3 percent of students got placement in my course. Most of the recruiting companies are local. They are mostly from the IT and medicine manufacturing fields. The internship percentage is also very low. It is around 4–5% only. The top roles offered in my course are supervisors, Assistants and some managers.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi on campus, but the service is not consistent. Science labs are in good condition. The old classrooms were not good but they have built new buildings for study and those are full of modern facilities. The college library is good too. Unfortunately, there is no hostel facility on campus. The medical office is not in good condition. The college organizes sports events every 2 or 3 months.
Faculty: The faculty is good and helpful. Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. In most of the courses, the teaching quality is good. Most of the courses in college are not industry-familiar. Semester exams in college are moderate and the passing percentage is about 80 to 85.
Other: I chose this field because of my relevant background from school. This is a useful course for a career in the educational field. There should be more practical classes in the course. The crowd on campus is very enjoyable. Events are organized by the student union at regular intervals. Connectivity to college is smooth and good. Sometimes you may face a rush on the roads.

Our college is a good college.
Placements: Our college does not provide any placements or such things, but it is a very good college for preparation. All the students attend college for preparation for any government exam, but so far, no placements have been provided by our college. Overall, our college is good.
Infrastructure: The old library is currently being renovated, and the labs are also good. The building is old, but new buildings are being constructed. The sports facilities are good, and the college also provides NCC for students pursuing a career in the army as their source of income. Our college is a good college.
Faculty: The college staff is nice, and the teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also good, but due to political elections, classes are being held late. The semester papers are moderately to hard, but overall, our college is good.
Other: B.Sc. is a very good course for preparation for any exam; it provides us with the space to prepare for our exams.
