Department of Law, Panjab University Admission 2024: Registrations, Dates, Eligibility & Fees

Studies in Panjab University are at par with the leading Educational Institutes in our country. It was even the highest ranked Indian Institute for a while according to a survey by Times Higher education. Should have passed FA/F.Sc./ A level or equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% marks. Should have passed the Law Admission Test (LAT) with 50% passing marks and with a validity date for admission. Must have appeared in the PU Admission Test conducted by Punjab University. To be eligible for the three-year PU LLB course, a candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 45% aggregate marks or 40% marks for SC/ST candidates.

The seat intake for PU LLB Punjab University is 480 seats for year 2024. And the mode of application is through online. The entrance test and counselling is done offline only. And to apply for entrance test the application fees is 2175 rupees. The test can be written in three languages English, Hindi and Punjabi. Candidates should complete the registration process before filling the application form. Candidates will have to enter name, email id and mobile number along with details to complete the registration process. Once the registration process is complete, candidates can proceed further to fill the application form entering their personal details, academic details, communication details.

The admissions at Department of Law, Punjab University are based on the merit of the candidate. The cut-off marks are different for different castes like 36.4 for General, 34.9 for SC, 38.5 for ST and 38.1 for other Backward castes. The minimum cut off scores for PU LLB 2023 entrance exam is 20 out of 100 for General/ OBC category, and 15 out of 100 marks for SC/ ST/ PwD categories. Merit is calculated taking 50% of the class +2 percentage including weightages and 50% of the UGLAW Entrance Test marks. Having secured minimum 45% marks in aggregate for general category and 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST category.

The Selection Process is done through both Merit and Entrance Examination basis. The minimum 50% marks is required in PU UGLAW Entrance examination to get admission here. The exam is taken for 100 questions which taken in 2 hours and total of 400 marks. Must mention their language choice in the OMR sheet. Since every wrong answer carries a negative marking of -0.25. Merit is calculated taking 50% of the class +2 percentage including weightages and 50% of the UGLAW Entrance test marks.  You can, in private colleges you can get admission very easily. The Fee for PGLAW Entrance Test is 2100/- rupees and  1050/- rupees for SC/ST/PwD.

Yes, Most of the students will get placed during campus placements. Students are eligible for campus placements from 3-2 semester. The highest package was 5400000 and the lowest package was 400000 and average package was 700000. Many top companies like Flipkart, Microsoft, Amazon, Visa, IBM visits our campus for recruitment.

Infrastructure: Laboratories, classrooms and labs are well maintained. They provide all the facilities in the classrooms like projectors, speakers, mini library, etc. Hostel facilities are good coming to mess students get bored of food items but taste is good and they prepare in a hygienic way.

Faculty: Faculty members are qualified and are graduates in any of the field. As it is a mandatory rule given by Jntuh. And they are student friendly. Exams are bit difficult as we are into B.Tech. Pass percentage of our section 89%. Faculty also helps students in research work, project expo etc.
