Satisfied because of faculty, dissatisfied due to lack of games enrollment.
Placements: I am Sachin Rawat. I am pursuing BCA in Data Science at Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University in Dehradun. I am a BCA student, and in my college, the placement for the BCA course is better than for other courses on our campus. While other courses have placements around 70% to 80%, the BCA course placement is about 90%. While recruiting, there may be some who did not receive placements, but they can also be taught on our campus by the administration.
Infrastructure: We have many computer labs on our campus. The campus has a special faculty line that is recruited and recommended by the college. They are highly educated, and some of them are very friendly in nature and help us remain calm.
Faculty: The faculty helps us a lot with our studies and other activities. Personally, I have been helped by some of our faculty in our classes, while other teachers just ignore us or say, "You are not in our class, go get someone from your class faculty."
Other: Our college campus is very great but lacks extracurricular activities and is mainly focused on studying.

My DBUU life. The college is decent and not brilliant.
Placements: We have a strength of 25 students. The highest package was around 40 lacs, and the average is 3.5 lacs. Top hiring companies are Accenture, Vivo, Infosys, Deloitte, Nestle, Cognizant, TCS, etc. No one got an internship from our class. Data scientist is the main job for us.
Infrastructure: The faculty is knowledgeable and experienced in their respective fields. However, the infrastructure has some issues, especially during the rainy season when the roofs of the buildings leak. The Wi-Fi connection is unreliable, and the labs do not function properly. On a positive note, the hostel accommodations are decent.
Faculty: Our teachers are very helpful and well-qualified. They are brilliant and have very good knowledge. The teaching quality is good, but some of them do not teach properly. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant. It will make students better, but I am not sure about industry preparation.
Other: I chose this course because it is trending. This course is quite good, and the fee is affordable for me. I think this course is good. I do not have any suggestions. Yes, the college organizes a fest called Pinak and a fresher's party for freshers.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the management of the college.
Placements: Until now, no one has been placed because this year is final for us. Now our batch will get the placement opportunity. The highest package must be around 30 lakhs, and the lowest package must be around 2.5 lakhs or 3 lakhs. Deloitte and other companies visit our campus for placements.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi on campus but it's not accessible to students due to the poor network. The classrooms of freshmen are maintained but the classrooms after the first year are so bad. There are fans, which sometimes don't work properly, and our class does not have any projectors, which is a must for a BCA course. Medical facilities are provided to students if they need them. Sports meet takes place every year in the college, which includes various games both indoors and outdoors.
Faculty: The way some teachers teach is not helpful, as teachers focus only on theoretical knowledge. The course curriculum is relevant as it includes various relevant subjects related to the course, but it is not sufficient to make students industry-ready. The exam level is mediocre; the passing marks for a subject are 30 out of 100 for externals and 17 out of 50 for internals.
Other: The fee structure of this college is better than that of other colleges. If the course focuses more on practical knowledge, that would be helpful.

My college environment is very nice; there is no city noise.
Placements: I am in the BCA course, which has 4 sections with a total of over 300 students. Currently, only 2 companies come for placements in our college. The college provides internships to students for a better career, and the placement cell also helps.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our course is very good, with well-maintained classrooms. Our teachers support us with any queries. The hostel infrastructure is good, but the mess food is not great. The hostel rooms are categorized based on our budget.
Faculty: The faculty is very supportive. They provide all the information about our course and other things. The exams are conducted by our teachers, who also provide us with notices and PDF notes for learning. With these notes, we can do our best in exams.
Other: Our college provides scholarships to students for their future and organizes events for students.

The college life of DBUU students.
Placements: The placement record of our college is not so good. Companies visit, but in lesser numbers. The placement record the college shows is not real. They show that they place 80% of students, but in reality, only 45% of students get placed, with an average package of 2.5 lacs to 3 lacs. The top recruiting company is TCS.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite good. The campus area is not so big; it's around 40 acres. The facilities were also not good. The Wi-Fi in the college is not working, and the labs were not well-designed. The chairs were not good. The quality they provided was not sufficient, but the canteen area is good, though the sitting area is small.
Faculty: The teachers of our course were very qualified and highly knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also good. You can go to their cabins whenever you have any doubt related to any topic. The course curriculum is relevant. In the first semester, they teach programming languages like C and C++, and in every semester, they teach programming languages.
Other: I chose this course, BCA with data science, because of its demand in the market. Currently, I wish that they would teach in a practical way. They send us to internships after every three months, but only then can we understand how the real corporate world works.

Q:   Is Dev Bhoomi Institute of Technology, Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions as good as UPES Dehradun for B.Tech?

A:
  • Let us compare both the colleges one by one:
  1. The Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions is one of the best colleges in Uttarakhand with good infrastructure and well qualified teachers. It offers a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme that lasts four years and is full-time. Specialization options include computer Science and engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and civil engineering. It also offers an MBA programme that lasts two years and is full-time. Specialization options include finance, agribusiness, and business analytics.
  • The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) in Dehradun, India, is a well-known institution focusing on programs related to energy and allied sectors. Although I don't have access to real-time data, historically, UPES has had a good track record in terms of placements, particularly in industries related to oil and gas, energy, power, infrastructure, and allied sectors.
  • For MBA placements at UPES Dehradun, the university has a dedicated placement cell that works closely with students to facilitate recruitment opportunities. They invite a variety of companies from different sectors for campus placements.
  • Some of the prominent recruiters for MBA students at UPES include:

    1. Oil and Gas Companies: Companies like ONGC, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Schlumberger, ExxonMobil, Shell, and others have shown interest in recruiting MBA graduates specializing in energy management or related fields.

    2. Energy Sector: Companies operating in renewable energy, power generation, and energy management sectors, such as Suzlon, Tata Power, Adani Power, and others, may also recruit MBA graduates from UPES.

  • Now let us come to the conclusion that both the colleges are good and both are located in Uttarakhand.
  • UPES is very expensive in terms of fee structure in comparison to Devbhoomi Group of Institutions.
