- The course is one year full-time residential program
- This course is being conducted jointly by 3 premier institutes of India viz. IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras
- A diploma will be awarded jointly by IIMC, IITK and IITM which is titled "Post Graduate Diploma in Management for Executives in Manufacturing (PGDM for Executives in Manufacturing)” and this is equivalent to other PGDM offered by all premier institutes in India
- 7 weeks of internship in industry along with 1 week of industry visit in Japan for studying Best Manufacturing Practices under the aegis of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
- The course has been designed by these institutes in consultation with industry, CII, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Department Of Industrial Policy and Promotion: GoI and Ministry of HRD, GoI
- 36 weeks of classroom study, which includes lectures, case studies, tutorials, lab sessions, videos, individual and team assignments, guest lecture from Japanese faculty, industry experts and business leaders, totalling to 1057 interaction hours

IIT Madras Post Doctoral course Review.
Placements: 80% of the students got placed in our batch. The highest package was INR 50 lpa, and the minimum package was INR 20 lpa. The average package was INR 25 lpa. The recruiting companies are all the big ones, like Maruti Suzuki, Tata, etc. The internship season was also good and 50% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are top-notch. The Wi-Fi is fast. The labs have everything someone would need to conduct research. The library is vast and has thousands of books. The classrooms are big and vibrant. The sports field is very big and has everything.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified. They teach very high-level stuff. The curriculum is relevant to industry standards. The semester exams are tough and you need to study hard in order to ace them. A lot of competition is there in order to top.
