Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Q:   Is Engineering College Nowgong good for B.E. / B.Tech?

A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is Engineering College Nowgong (NEC) good for B.E./B.Tech?

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure: The college has a new building with modern amenities, and the campus is planned to expand with additional facilities.
* Knowledgeable faculty: Many faculty members are well-qualified and experienced, having pursued education from reputed institutions like IITs and NITs.
* Low fees: Compared to other colleges, NEC has relatively low fees, making it an affordable option for students.
* Scholarship opportunities: The college offers scholarships sponsored by the Madhya Pradesh government, providing financial assistance to deserving students.
* Hands-on learning: Students have access to good libraries, labs, and equipment, allowing for hands-on learning and experimentation.
* Good network connectivity: Internet connectivity is available, supporting online resources and communication.

Cons:

* Limited placements: At present, the college does not have a dedicated placement cell, and students may struggle to secure jobs after graduation.
* Lack of focus on practical skills: Some students feel that the curriculum focuses too heavily on theoretical knowledge, leaving gaps in practical skill-building.
* Shortage of faculty: Due to the recent establishment of the college, there might be a shortage of permanent faculty members, leading to issues with subject coverage.
* Poor sports facilities: While sports events are organized, the facilities themselves leave much to be desired.
* Unclear hostel situation: Although a hostel exists, its allocation and living conditions remain unclear.
* Canteen and medical facility absence: The college lacks a canteen and medical facilities, posing challenges for students' basic needs.

Recommendation:
While NEC shows promise with its modern infrastructure and knowledgeable faculty, the college's limitations regarding placements, practical skills, and overall facilities may deter some students. Potential students should weigh these factors before deciding whether NEC is the right choice for their B.E./B.Tech pursuits.

Review of Engineering College Nowgong.
Placements: There were no placements in this college. I would not recommend students to join this college. We could apply for off-campus placements, but there was no opportunity in this college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good. There was a small library in this college. Separate hostels were available for both boys and girls. Sports were conducted in this college. The food served in the mess was very good. Medical facilities were provided.
Faculty: Teachers were average. Workshops were not conducted in this college. Teachers did not provide practical knowledge to students.
Other: Our college had two branches such as civil and mechanical. Fests were not conducted in this college.

Review of Engineering College Nowgong.
Placements: There were no proper placements opportunity at NEC. Principal and faculty members do not care about the students, neither they invite any company for the placements. Therefore, there were no prior placements opportunity at Government Engineering College Nowgong. Everything was for the namesake.
Infrastructure: In this college, students had to stay in someone else's building. Students continued there for more than 3 years then students were shifted to the new building. However, the building was new, but no new course for the academic development of students. Hostel or mess was not provided in this college.
Faculty: Faculty members were brilliant. They know how to handle the students and teach effectively. For learning, this college is the best place but do not seek any placements opportunity because there are none.

I am not satisfied because of its faculty members and infrastructure.
Placements: The placements facility is not available right now. They never try to invite companies into their campus. Around 60% of students get internships from civil engineering courses.
Infrastructure: The quality of facilities in the hostel, quality of food available in the mess is average. The sports facilities are also good. The quality of the main building of this college is not good, and washrooms are not properly worked every time, and there is always a problem in the supply system of water.
Faculty: Faculty members are average, and they are only noticed on toppers. One more thing about faculty members is that sometimes there is a shortage of faculty members, and they are dependent on private faculty members which are not knowledgeable. The semester exam is not difficult to pass the semester exam, and the pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I opted for this course, because of my interest in civil engineering. The best thing about civil engineering is everything, and students understand practically and also see that things in our daily lives. If laboratories are available in this college then I can better understand our course which means there are no laboratories provided.

If you have any financial problems to afford a top college, then you can choose this college.
Placements: This college has been established very recently, and it got its own new building last year. So, you can't expect much from this college. Till 2020, there were no placements, but it will also start very soon. Till 2020, only 2 branches were offered in the college, civil and mechanical. Soon, some new branches will also be introduced. Internships are mandatory as RGPV curriculum.
Infrastructure: Our college got its new building in 2020, the infrastructure is amazing, but it is quite far from the main city place. The library has a lot of books, and all the books are in new condition. Till 2020, there was no Wi-Fi. The classrooms are excellent, well-equipped with smart projectors. As it is a government college, there is no problem with funds. So, things will become amazing very soon. There is only one hostel. In the coming years, some more hostels will be developed. Since students were not allotted the hostel till 2020, the mess condition is unknown till now. For the past years, this college didn't have its own campus, so various factors like Wi-Fi and medical facilities are unknown. Games and sports events are organised in the college.
Faculty: All the faculty members are well qualified since it is a government college. All the professors have joined by clearing a state-level exam, and most of them are from prestigious IITs and NITs. Their knowledge is rewardable, but sometimes, they don't take their classes. The curriculum is as per the norms of RGPV.
Other: At my time, the mechanical branch was considered to be a top branch. As per my JEE rank, I got this college. The best thing about this college is its fee structure, so you can do whatever you want to do, and there will be no burden on your parents as well. You can explore your passion at comparatively lower risks. The teaching can be improved a little bit by increasing the number of faculty members. There is a lack of faculty members because it is a newly established college. Till 2020, there was no campus, but even then, some sports events and mini fests were conducted by the college, and they were quite amazing. As it is a government college, there are a lot of scholarships, and you can try and find a suitable scholarship for you. Its fee is also very less, no need to worry about it.

Good infrastructure and facility and decent placement.
Placements: Here in college percentage of students getting placed is about 60% and average salary is 2.5 lakhs and top recruiting companies TCS, Infosys but you cannot depend only on campus placement you have to make efforts to get a good job. So you have to prepare yourself for off campus as well.
Infrastructure: Here in college a good network connectivity is available good labs infrastructure is good, library is good and most important all the machines that are used for mechanical engineering also present. I can't tell about hostel because I don't live in hostel but medical facility are very good, sports facilities are also good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable they are highly qualified they have done their qualification from best university of India and they can help you making project, guide you through your research and provide you great knowledge. You can ask anything to them about your curriculum and the researcher as well if you are interested in doing research in mechanical.
Other: I choose mechanical because my thinking is that mechanical is the branch which has a lot of diversity and I can make my career in different field. And course curriculum be improved and updated especially and I think research oriented material should be added in syllabus. Here in my college post facility is decent there is not much crowd and a student can avail scholarship and extra curricular activities enter good internet connectivity.

If only government college is the option and the score is below average, this is the best option.
Placements: There is no placement facility in the college as it is a new college. So I can't say much about it. There's a placement cell. Since my 1st year in college, students are informed that this year there'll be placement. But I'm in the final year now. My degree is almost about to complete, and still, there are no placements.
Infrastructure: As of now, the infrastructure of the college is quite good as the building was shifted to a newly constructed campus last year. The campus is huge, but it's mostly mud, grass, and lake. There are primarily 2 buildings. One is for the civil branch and one for the mechanical. There's no parking facility. We have to park bikes in the mud. There is no canteen. But there are shops a bit outside the main campus, where there are basics snacks available.
Faculty: Permanent faculty members are very good. They are very informative and also very qualified. On the other hand, guest faculty lacks those qualities, which is a shame as it ruins college to a huge extent. No one wants to attend guest faculty classes while also wanting to attend permanent faculty classes which make the decision to attend the class or not very complicated.
Other: The scope for civil engineering is ever-growing. I had an interest in the construction field. But there are no extracurricular activities, fests and events.

Hello Ritika, Your score is too low to get admission in any good colleges, however, there are many colleges that will offer admission on your marks but they are simply worthless, so figure out what went wrong and prepare well for next year. All the best.
