| B.F.Sc. | Candidate should have passed the qualifying examination (12th standard), Senior Secondary Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination within scope and standard found to be equivalent to the Senior Secondary Examination of a recognized Indian Board / University with at least three subjects out of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Agriculture/Inter-Agriculture as core courses, from a recognized Institute/ University. Candidate must secure the mentioned marks in aggregate. (Mentioned marks of OBC is for OBC- NCL, 50% is required for UPS, EWS categories and 40% is required for Third Gender, PwBD categories. Candidate already appeared in the qualifying examination enumerated above, can also apply on evidence basis. NOTE: Candidate(s) who appears in subject(s) different than the one which s(he) passed in 12th standard will not be considered for admission. Candidate having a compartment/supplementary in any of the subjects will not be eligible. |

Our course curriculum is very good.
Placements: After completing the course, students can become fisheries sub-inspectors, deputy inspectors, tutors, and farm managers. Companies visit our college to recruit students.
Infrastructure: We have very good labs. The infrastructure of our college is very good. The hostel is very good. All facilities are good.
Faculty: All teachers are helpful. The teaching quality is good. The course is a bit lengthy. We have 11 subjects per semester. We have practicals in every subject.
Other: There are around 46 students in our course. I chose this course because I have an idea of entrepreneurship. After this course, we can open our fish farms. Our college provides presentation-based study.

Faculty is good, course is new, and the saturation in the course is limited.
Placements: About 50% of our students are graduated from the university. The salary offered is Rs.30000 per month for the students who are assigned as contractual professors in the university. Private companies also recruit students. I don't know about the percentage of students who got internships at farms. Ornamental fish manager and assistant marine biologist are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is new and excellent with the smart monitors in every classroom. Wi-Fi is available on campus and in the hostel. The library is excellent and almost every study material regarding fisheries science is available. The hostel is excellent and new for both girls and boys. Both non-vegetarian and vegetarian food varieties are available. The canteen isn't present on campus. Medical facilities are limited as there aren't many students. Sports activities aren't present too.
Faculty: Faculty members at our university are highly reputed, new, and helpful. Almost every faculty member has done a Ph.D. in different fields of fisheries and some are highly knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. Some teachers give more focus on practical work which is a plus point. The curriculum is as per ICAR regulated. It also gives you knowledge regarding entrepreneurship opportunities in the fisheries sector. Internal exams of the semester are average. External papers of semesters are settled by ICAR which are a bit tough. The pass percentage is almost 70%.
Other: The university is located in a hilly area so there are no cafeterias and restaurants.

Absolutely satisfied and will have bright future there.
Placements: Bachelor in fisheries was introduced at SKUAST recently, 10 or 12 years ago. So, there is not much knowledge about placements. Internship is offered to all of its students with a stipend of Rs. 3,000 per month. However, placement is a little bit issue as there are very few companies, which know about this recently introduced fisheries college.
Infrastructure: SKUAST has the state of art infrastructure. The fisheries faculty got a separate campus at Rangil, which was inaugurated in 2016. The campus is having sufficient playing area, but lack places for indoor games. Campus is equipped with Wi-Fi, labs with the latest and highly sophisticated equipments.
Faculty: The teachers at SKUAST are highly professional with a tremendous amount of knowledge in the respective field. Recently in 2018, a scientist from SKUAST developed a drug for prostate cancer. Thus it is the level of knowledge. Faculty of fisheries are country's first, and it is the only coldwater fisheries research institute.
