Is B.E./B.Tech at Golaghat Engineering College a Good Choice?

While Golaghat Engineering College has its pros and cons, here's what current and former students have to say:

    Pros:

    * Great Faculty: Most students agree that the faculty is excellent, knowledgeable, and supportive.
    * Practical Learning: The college offers hands-on learning opportunities, making it easier for students to grasp complex concepts.
    * Campus Life: The campus is well-maintained, with amenities like Wi-Fi, RO purification, and modern infrastructure.
    * Placement Opportunities: Although limited, some reputed companies like Byju's and Cognizant have recruited students from the college.

    Cons:

    * Low Teacher-Student Ratio: This can lead to inadequate attention and guidance for individual students.
    * Lack of Industry Connections: While some companies visit the campus, more efforts could be made to establish stronger industry connections for better placement opportunities.
    * Hostel Maintenance Issues: Some students reported issues with hostel maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep.

    Conclusion:
Golaghat Engineering College has potential, especially considering its relatively young age. With a great faculty, decent placement record, and modern infrastructure, it may be worth considering for those looking for a B.E./B.Tech program. However, addressing the concerns around low teacher-student ratios, industry connections, and hostel maintenance would help improve the overall experience.

    Review of Golaghat Engineering College.
Placements: Around 70% of students get placed in our course. There are various companies that come to offer on-campus placements, but the best companies with better salary packages need to visit our college. Students get internships at many top companies.
Infrastructure: College and hostel buildings are very satisfying. Wi-Fi is available in the classrooms. Laboratories and the library are in good condition. A little improvement should be needed in the library. The hostel mess and canteen food are very good. The mess fee is a little high.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and never ignore helping students. They teach each topic with a great concept. Semester exams are a little difficult, but teachers make them easy for students.
Other: I chose this course as engineering was my dream from childhood. The best thing about our course is that students can practically experience some amazing facts.

It is a good college with a good environment and quality studies.
Placements: Placements are not much here. But students are very talented. In the future year, the number of placements will increase. Many companies are interested in coming to the campus placements. In recent years, companies like Byjus, Cognizant, etc., have visited our college for placements.
Infrastructure: Our college provides facilities like academic building, an administrative building, hostels for both girls and boys, Wi-Fi, RO purification, lab for every branch, medical facilities, canteen, indoor and outdoor games facilities, good quality of food, library, computer rooms, etc.
Faculty: Regular intervals of exams, class tests, etc., are conducted here. Teachers teaching quality is good. They are very friendly and helpful. They clear all doubts and give regular notes of every subject. Semester exams happen every 6 months. About 8-semester exams are conducted in 4 years.

Good infrastructure with great faculty, however, the administration should take more responsibility.
Placements: No recruitment drive was organized this year. However, there was recruitment (campus placement) for our first batch, but no recruitment was done for the last batch and our batch. The administration should focus on the campus recruitment process and try to bring at least one or two companies minimum.
Infrastructure: Good academic building and clean campus. Two hostels are there, but hostels lack proper maintenance. The laboratories require upgradation and new equipment. The campus needs benches to sit. The campus requires maintenance for hygiene and requires dustbins.
Faculty: Faculty is great and well-qualified. However, the teacher-to-student ratio is very low. So, faculty numbers should be increased for the smooth functioning of the college. However, the exam procedure is simple and efficient. Every semester has one or two mid-term tests, assignments, and attendance of 75% is mandatory on the basis of which internal marks are given.

It is an excellent college with good faculty members.
Placements: Our college was established in 2018. Our college is new, so a few students get campus placements. The first batch to get campus placements is 2018-2022. In the future, it will be one of the top engineering colleges in India.
Infrastructure: There are three branches in our college, i.e., B.Tech. in Civil Engineering, B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering and B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering. Our college provides one boys' hostel and one girls' hostel. The college building is new and clean.
Faculty: There are many faculty members in our college. All faculty members are qualified from IIT, NIT, BHU, TU, etc. The pass percentage in our college is 45 %. The education level in Golaghat Engineering College is average. Regular class tests are conducted, which help students to focus in studies.

It has a good environment, friendly teachers, beautiful infrastructure, etc.
Placements: The college is new, so placements are few here. Recently we approached one company named Cognizant, which wants to hire employees from our college. Only 10-15 students got selected in the college out of 90. I am sure the number will change because of quality and innovative students in the future.
Infrastructure: The college has labs for different branches, a lift, a library, computer room, playground, guest house, staff quarter, workshops, solar power, etc. It has different hostels for both boys and girls. It also provides medical facilities, a canteen, a water purification system, multiple bathrooms, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members teaching quality is too good and very friendly. It makes students feel comfortable and ready to take pressure in any situation. They guide students for their competitive exams or interviews. The pass mark is 30 out of 70 in theory and 12 out of 50 in practical.
Other: I am a student of this college, and for me, it is the best college. It is a new college. It is now developing day by day, so I can say that this college will be the best for B.Tech courses.

    Golaghat Engineering College.
Placements: The first batch has been successfully placed with the highest package of 9 LPA and an average of 3.5 LPA. Students secured prestigious internships at top companies such as Oil India, ONGC, IOCL, NRL, and BCPL, marking significant achievements for our institution.
Infrastructure: Our college is one of the top government institutions in Assam, known for its excellent infrastructure. The computer lab is fully equipped and up to date, running the latest version of Windows, ensuring students have access to modern technology and resources for their academic growth.
Faculty: Our faculty consists of highly educated professionals who are not only experts in their fields but also approachable and friendly. They are dedicated to providing quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. Our Training and Placement Officer, along with the coordinator, plays a crucial role in shaping the careers of our students. They are dedicated, approachable, and committed to providing excellent guidance, connecting students with top recruiters, and organizing valuable training sessions to prepare them for successful placements.
Other: The clubs are inactive. There should be active clubs to ensure everyone’s capabilities and to help students identify in which fields they are skilled.
