    * the highest package offered is around INR8 Lacs per annum
    * Other branches, such as Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering, have fewer placement opportunities

I am becoming unstoppable day by day. All credit goes to GCEK.
Placements: This year, 70 to 75% of students in CSE got placed. The highest was around 8 LPA and the lowest was around 2 LPA. Many companies visited for Placement Drives, and the Placement percentage for CSE was the highest. Placement this year was good, but almost all the seniors complained regarding the comparatively average salary. TCS, Wipro, Accenture, and many more visited for Placement Drive. Many were recruited as Developers, Programmers, Coding Supervisors, and Business Analysts.
Infrastructure: We have fully functioning labs and a well-stocked library with all the necessary books. The hostel is relatively old, but there is nothing to complain about. There is a common room where you can watch TV and enjoy a lot of amusements. The mess food is good, but I don't like it. There is one mini-hospital in the Institute campus. I am not much into sports, but if you are a sports enthusiast, you will definitely enjoy it here.
Faculty: I love all the facilities, especially the Math, Physics, Chem, and Eng faculty members. They are subject experts with 5–25 years of experience. The course curriculum is outdated, but I am preparing for Government Exams, so it does not have a very severe impact on me. Sem-exams are a bit harder, but you can score well if you are serious. I have a friend who is very stylish and looks like a hero but failed in an exam.
Other: With my rank, I was only getting CSE in this college (government), so I didn't have any option to switch to other colleges. NSP and FFE are the scholarships you can opt for. We enjoy the Cultural Fest. A lot of local and Bollywood singers/celebrities come to perform at the fest. There is a lot of scope for extracurriculars. If you have the talent and dedication, you can be a rockstar in the college.

Every day feels brand new here.
Placements: Government College of Engineering, Kalahandi boasts a decent placement percentage, with around 70–75% of students getting placed in recent years. The College's Training and Placement Cell works diligently to bring in a variety of companies, offering roles that range from core engineering positions to software development. The placement scenario at GCEK has been improving steadily. Some of the top recruiters include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, and L&T. The average package varies between 3.5 and 4.5 LPA, with the highest packages reaching up to 8 LPA for exceptional candidates. The placement cell's efforts in organizing pre-placement talks, mock interviews, and aptitude training have been instrumental in enhancing students' employability.
Infrastructure: Hostel Facility The hostel facilities are satisfactory, with separate hostels for boys and girls. Rooms are fairly spacious and well-maintained, though they could use modernization. Basic amenities such as clean water, electricity, and laundry services are provided. There is a common room with a TV and indoor games, fostering a sense of community among students. Wi-Fi connectivity across the campus is quite good. The hostels, academic buildings, and even the library have reliable Internet access, which is crucial for research and staying connected. There are occasional downtimes, but they are typically resolved quickly. Sports and Extracurricular Sports and extracurricular activities are well-supported at GCEK. The campus has facilities for cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. Annual Sportsmeets and inter-college tournaments are highlights, providing students with ample opportunities to showcase their talents. Additionally, various clubs and societies cater to interests like Robotics, cultural activities, and entrepreneurship. Canteen and Gender Ratio The Canteen at GCEK serves a variety of meals and snacks, though the menu could use more diversity. The quality of food is average, but it's hygienic and affordable. The gender ratio on campus is skewed towards male, with about 70% male and 30% female students. This imbalance can be felt in certain activities and groups, but overall, the campus environment is inclusive and supportive.
Faculty: The faculty at GCEK is one of its strong points. Professors are knowledgeable and approachable, with many holding advanced degrees from prestigious institutions. The teaching methods are a blend of traditional lectures and modern, interactive sessions. Regular workshops and guest lectures from industry experts further enhance the learning experience. Semester exams are difficult, but not that difficult. You can easily score by studying 5 days prior to exams.
Other: I was a bit fascinated by CSE for its dominance, importance, and lucrative salary opportunities. In recent years, GCEK has made significant strides. The College has been recognized for its research contribution in the fields of renewable energy and sustainable engineering practices. Several student projects have received accolades at the national level competitions, and the College has established partnerships with industries for collaborative projects and internships. So, considering it, I choose the course and the college in the hope of better. Talking about Fests: One of the most anticipated events is the annual cultural fest, "Kala Fest", which draws participation from colleges across the state. It's a blend of music, dance, drama, and literary events, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere on campus. Students eagerly look forward to this fest, as it offers a break from academic rigors and a platform to showcase their talents.

Civil in GCEK means welcoming unemployment without invitation.
Placements: Though GCEK is relatively new, it has made significant progress in providing placement opportunities for Civil Engineering students. The Training and Placement Cell actively builds connections with top companies. While the placement rate is growing, companies such as TCS and Wipro have hired from GCEK. But talking about civil, the placement percentage is negligible. As of now, L&T does not visit the campus, but in the future, there is a huge probability that they may visit. All the students who managed to grab a decent salary were off-campus placements. The highest in civil was 6 LPA. Don't ask about the lowest because there are tons of unemployed who are still struggling to earn a living.
Infrastructure: GCEK features advanced infrastructure that supports a rich learning environment. The Civil Engineering laboratories are well-equipped with the latest instruments, allowing students to engage in practical learning. From surveying tools to structural analysis software, the facilities ensure that students are well-prepared for industry challenges. The classrooms, equipped with smart boards, foster an interactive learning experience. Wi-Fi has lower bandwidth and every couple of weeks, the Wi-Fi connection gets interrupted. Sports facilities and a sports complex are luxuries that an average GCEKian dreams of every night.
Faculty: In my opinion, faculty members are helpful, but not qualified enough. There is always a probability that they will deliver their 100%, but they are lazy enough not to do so. The course curriculum is century-old, and semester exams are super easy unless you open the book just an hour prior to the exam.
Other: I chose this course because this was the best visible option considering my JEE rank and academic intelligence. SEE if you ask me about improvement, I reckon you have to do an A to Z change to make it an engineering turncoat. Fest, campus life is like 404 oops server error. I got a scholarship from the government, you too can get one if you are eligible to do so.

When all other options ** consider this.
Placements: Placement opportunities at GCEK are modest, with an average placement rate of around 20-30%. Notable recruiters include TCS, Wipro, Teach Mahindra, and Infosys. The highest reported salary package is between 14-18 Lacs per annum, but most students secure average packages ranging from 2-5 Lacs per annum. Due to the limited number of companies visiting the campus, many students seek off-campus placements. This year not a single got any PPO or paid internship from reputed Firm.
Infrastructure: GCEK's infrastructure has seen significant improvement over the years. The campus boasts modern classrooms with smart boards, well-equipped laboratories, and essential facilities. Additionally, the college offers separate hostels for boys and girls, a well-stocked library, and sports facilities. The campus is well-maintained, clean, and features amenities like an elevator in academic buildings and multiple parking slots. You can play sports, but the experience is **. The college, despite being an old college, still lacks many of the important amenities.
Faculty: The faculty at GCEK is well-regarded, with many professors holding PhDs and possessing substantial experience in their fields. The teaching approach focuses on current trends and research, ensuring that students receive relevant and comprehensive education. The course curriculum is outdated; sem exams are comparatively easier. But still, every sem 10 to 20 percent of students find it difficult to pass.
Other: Based on my JEE rank, this was the most suitable course. On top of that, It was just 15 km from my hometown, so I chose it. If I were the VC, I would have changed the curriculum fast, then the hostel facilities, and the sport facilities. The most fascinating aspect of a college is its fest and campus life, but here, everything **.

It is the best college in Odisha.
Placements: Many companies, like Tata, Vedanta, Wipro, Jindal, etc., offer placements. CSE gets more placements as compared to other branches. EE students get placements from Tata Power. The mechanical branch also offers many companies. Civil has no placements.
Infrastructure: There are two boys' hostels and one ladies' hostel. APJHR and VHR are the boys' hostels. APJHR is the oldest hostel. Its condition is poor, but VHR is the new hostel. In VHR, elevators are also available. They serve the best food.
Faculty: All faculty members are friendly but very strict in the exam hall. In our EE branch, all faculty members are great. They always support all students. Anyone can contact them at any time and in any situation.
Other: I chose EE because many people are choosing this branch.

    This college is average, 50-50.
Placements: This college is remotely placed in the interior zone of Odisha, so not many companies visit the institute for placement, Only in CSE there is an average to good placement you can expect or else in all other branches getting placement is like winning a war. The highest placement this year was 19 LPA and the lowest was 2 LPA. In mechanical, no one got any paid internship. The top roles offered to students from mech are Tyre supervisors, Mechanical engineers, Factor machines supervisors etc.
Infrastructure: Hostel food is the most annoying part of this college. Classrooms are there but not fitted with AC, and FYI you don't need an AC here it's already cool and in winter it's freezing. The library is clean and a vast collection of books are available there. You can sit there comfortably and read whatever you want. Very limited medical facilities are available there, and the same applies to sports and games.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are typical government employees and don't put in much effort. Some teachers are brilliant and helpful while some are completely the opposite. The course curriculum is okay. But It has a negligible role in making students industry-ready. I don't know about others but I find it very difficult to pass the exams, this semester almost 20 students failed in different subjects from my branch.
Other: My father has a motor vehicle automobile shop so I took this course to further enhance my knowledge and to make our family business better and expanding. There is a lot to improve. Hostel food, sports facilities, drinking water facilities, and course curriculum are the obvious and most visible issues that need immediate improvement. Regarding Fest, I have a negative opinion. But college surroundings are healing and soothing. Situated at the foot of the Eastern Ghat mountains range this college has the most vibrant and comfortable climate around the year.
