Dissatisfied because of infrastructure, not having good placement.
Placements: In computer engineering, the 2024 batch is getting placement in something like 50 percent. I think the highest package of GECR is 8 Lacs, and the average package is 4 Lacs. In our college, top companies like TCS, Tatvasoft, etc., visit. Not all students are getting internships, so this is not good for this college.
Infrastructure: There is campus Wi-Fi, but it doesn't work everywhere and at all times. Different departments have their own Wi-Fi, but it also doesn't work or disconnects anytime. In the government hostel, there is no mess available at any time, and the canteen in the college has been closed for the last 2 years.
Faculty: Some of the faculty do not provide complete guidelines for us to understand. However, there are some teachers that we prefer. In GECR, teaching quality is average. Our college has mid-sem exams in the middle of the semester, which are not as hard as university exams. There are marks of 30, so we can qualify for 12 marks.
Other: I chose this college because I had a rank of 4800, and I didn't want to take admission in private colleges. I didn't fit in colleges like LD, VGEC, etc. In our course, there are a few teachers, like 2 or 3, whose teaching methods are not sufficient for our understanding, so there is room for improvement. In our college, there are no events like those in private or other colleges, only events like Garba and Urja Spot.

Review of Government Engineering College, Rajkot.
Placements: Placements are a mixed bag. If students are from computer engineering department, then they have good shot at getting placed. Companies like TatvaSoft, Synoverge Technologies, and Acty System visit our campus for recruitment. The average salary package offered is around 3.25 LPA. However, if students are from other departments, like civil engineering, the placement scene is not as rosy.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is decent. We have good Wi-Fi, and the buildings are separate for each department. Hostels are okay, but they are old and requires a bit of paint. We have to manage our own meals. There are all the facilities in the hostel except Wi-Fi and mess.
Faculty: Faculty members are one of the highlights of this college. They are supportive, qualified, and always willing to blend a hand. Classes are regular, and they make sure students are prepared for exams. They are also super helpful when it comes to placements and other activities. Semester exams are not difficult if you have studied well.

Review about GEC Rajkot.
Placements: There is no placement record for BE Robotics and Automation at GEC Rajkot. This is a new branch, and there is less interest among students in this field. Some companies that do offer placements here include TCS, Mahindra, Adani group, and Reliance. The average package for other branches is around 4-5 lakhs per annum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at Government Engineering College, Rajkot is a bit lacking, but the labs are modern and well-equipped. The library is well-stocked, and there are separate study areas for boys and girls. The hostel is satisfactory, but it does not have a mess facility.
Faculty: The teachers at this college are qualified, but they go through the syllabus too fast. The difficulty of the semester exams is average, as they are set by Gujarat Technical University. On the plus side, there is no compulsory 75% attendance requirement.
Other: I chose this branch because of my interest in the field of teaching. I also considered the fact that there is less competition in this field, and that AI, robots, and automated machines are the future requirements, which will lead to a high demand for employees in this field in the next few years. There are many fests and events organized every year in college, such as urjaa, which is a sports event. The government of Gujarat offers scholarships to students who belong to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Other Backward Classes.

About My College: For Helping Out Strangers.
Placements: Around 65 to 70% students were placed. The average package is around 4 Lacs per annum, the highest is 8 Lacs per annum, and the lowest is 1.5 Lacs per annum. Overall, good placement. I like everything about GECR placement. Here there is also a training and placement cell. Faculty help during the placements.
Infrastructure: In my department, I am from computer engineering, so there were many computer labs, network labs, etc. For mechanical, there are separate workshops in which there are a variety of instruments. And for different branches, there are different facilities available.
Faculty: Teachers are really gems. They were very helpful at each and every stage of your career. They always hope for your good, and for that, they gave their best. Course offerings here were computer engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electronics and communication engineering, etc. Courses are up to date as per the latest technology and trends.
Other: Many things need improvement, like the campus. There are no facilities like a garden, gym, mess for hostel, and many other things. I chose this because of the placement, facilities, and faculty.

Honest review for Government Engineering College, Rajkot.
Placements: In our college, 30% of students get placement by the placement cell. In our college, only 3 to 4 students get an 8 Lacs per annum salary, others get 3 Lacs or less salary. Tatva Software is the best company that recruits our students, and most of the students are required in computer engineering or artificial intelligence. Top roles open in our course are software development engineers.
Infrastructure: Our college is not too old, but still, its buildings are weak, even our Computer Department. Wi-Fi, lab, classrooms, and we don't even have a water cooler or water filter. Our government hostel doesn't even have proper facilities. The quality of food is the worst, no one can even eat it. Medical facilities are not good.
Faculty: Most of our teachers are not helpful, but they all are knowledgeable. Their teaching skills are good. Our course curriculum is not relevant because our university gives a six-month curriculum, but our college only has three months of study. Our college has two types of exams, one for the mid-exam and the other for the university-level exam. The mid-exam difficulty is moderate, but the university-level exam is quite difficult. You have to clear all subjects for a passing mark.
Other: I chose a computer field because I always wanted to work with a computer, and I always wanted to build something new. That's why I am in a computer engineering course. Rajkot is best for me. If our system works well, then it can massively improve our skills. We have a tech fest and student fest where students can apply and show their innovation or skills. Our Gujarat state also provides scholarships for study.

Dissatisfied with placement and management.
Placements: 35 out of 150 students in the computer department were placed. There are mainly service-based companies or startups coming for placement, such as Tatvasoft, Sinform, Gateway, Weboccult, etc., which are mainly from Ahmedabad or Rajkot. For other branches, Adani, TATA, and Reliance also come. The highest package in 2024 was 7.5 LPA from the computer, mechanical, and electrical departments, and the average package goes around 2 to 3 LPA. Roughly 40-50% were placed last year.
Infrastructure: Faculty members do not respond that much, except for some faculty members. The Wi-Fi facility is very poor, classrooms are average, and labs are good. But the main problem is the library; they take fees for the library but do not provide the library facility. The hostel does not have a mess, and the canteen is not there. Food facilities in the local area are below average. There is no medical store in this area; you need to travel 4 km for medical needs.
Faculty: The teachers have good knowledge, but they are poor in teaching. They are highly qualified and have good knowledge in their field. Teaching quality is poor. The course curriculum is not that much relevant. Obviously, this course does not make students industry-ready; they need to focus on skills. Semester exams are not that difficult; if you prepare during the reading vacation, you can get very good marks. The passing criteria for semester exams is 23 marks out of 70.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in computer science. I wish to improve placement companies, library facilities, gym facilities, and arrange more events in different fields. The campus crowd is not that much. In the computer department, it is full, but in other departments, many seats are vacant. Scholarships are provided by the Government of India and Gujarat, such as MYSY, Digital Gujarat, and food bills. They are not interested in extracurricular activities. Some faculty members are interested and arrange sports events, but the college does not provide funds for this. Students pay and arrange this.
