Government Medical College, Barmer review.
Placements: About all students are placed in junior president jobs, some go for a medical officer exam, and others go for a PG exam. The highest package may range from 12 LPA to 15 LPA, and the average packages are 8 LPA to 10 LPA; the lowest package is between 4 LPA and 6 LPA. The package also varies from state to state.
Infrastructure: The good part of the classrooms is the projector, good mics, nice lighting, which also provides duct AC. We have a library that provides all MBBS course books, and the college also provides a reading room in addition to the library. Hostel is normal not providing AC; however, in a single room, we have 3 persons stay. The quality of the mess food is average, while the canteen is also good. The sports facilities are average.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified, and very knowledgeable; the quality of teaching is very good. Yes, this course is relevant to the curriculum and helps the student in future. Semester exams are not quite tough because the level of exams is normal, and we can pass by studying for 15 days. The passing percentage is 50%, which includes all the theory and practical exams.

Review of Government Medical College, Barmer.
Placements: We are the pioneer batch of our college. Now I am in my final year. There is no passout batch, so there is no placement data. In the medical field, an undergraduate degree has very little value. The main thing required for placements is your postgraduate degree from which college in which specialty. After MBBS, you can apply for jobs in private hospitals, state and central government jobs, the armed forces, and as a teacher in medical colleges. The average salary is Rs. 100000 to 250000 per month. You can earn Rs. 200000 to Rs. 500000 per month by practicing medicine in your private clinics after PG.
Infrastructure: There are all labs with all new instruments. Lecture theaters have well-maintained furniture. There is an air-conditioned library, an air-conditioned reading room, an e-library, and a department library. The anatomy department has a sufficient number of cadavers because of local awareness and the body donation committee. There are separate hostels for girls and boys. Single-seater, 2-seater, and 3-seater rooms are available. Drinking water (RO) and geysers are available in the hostel.
Faculty: There is a lack of staff members. Because of the remote location of the college, nobody is interested in staying here. All teachers are good and humble. They are very cooperative. Some senior professors have good experience in teaching. If you read for a few hours a week, you can easily pass the internal semester exams.

Review of a typical government college.
Placements: Everyone who passes their 4th year gets the opportunity to do their year-long internship at the local government hospital and is given a stipend of 22,000, approximately per month. Once you complete the degree, the job placement is not very hard to get, and the salary is good as well. The average package ranges from 70,000 per month to 1,00,000 per month. So there is huge scope for getting a job after the completion of this course.
Infrastructure: A huge part of the campus is still under construction. The libraries are air conditioned but the air conditioning rarely works and one of the libraries is not accessible 24/7. The classrooms are good with projectors and white boards. They're air-conditioned and work well. Students are not provided Wi-Fi to help with study, which is a drawback but not really a big issue in this 5G internet era. Mess food is good, clean, healthy and hygienic. Sports facilities are not up to par. The college lags behind severely in terms of sports.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and friendly and are well qualified for their jobs. The teaching quality is great in most cases and the faculty-to-student ratio is decent. The course is very relevant and is going to stay relevant forever, as doctors are needed in everyday life. The semester exams are up to par and of medium difficulty if you stay consistent with your studies. The passing percentage is 50%, which is not that easy to achieve.
Other: The reason I chose this course was because the structure, build and workings of the human body have always been of interest to me, so I chose to pursue this course in order to gain knowledge in my field of interest. I wish the course was a bit cheaper, as the cost of medical studies in general is very high and you are not provided any scholarships unless you have some sort of quota. There are several events organized, but they're not very good and are, in fact, average. A freshers party is organized every year to welcome the freshman students and a week-long West with sports and DJ nights is also organized around September, which is cool.

The college has good faculty members and is the best place for clinical practise.
Placements: The top role offered in our course is clinical practice. We have regular clinical postings in various departments and regularly see patients who play a key role in our course for becoming more successful doctors. Clinical practice and regular posting are the strength of our profession.
Infrastructure: The classrooms, library, and labs in our college are good. The hostel in our college is under construction, but the hostel provides us with good food.  The food available in the mess is good quality. There is no canteen on the college campus. There are no sports grounds properly. There are indoor games available in our college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful and knowledgeable. Semester exams are not very easy, but getting passing marks is easy. There are passing marks of 50% in every subject individually in practical and theory exams. Passing the exam is not a difficult task in our profession. There is value in your clinical practice.
Other: I'd like to become a doctor to help people, so I chose this course. Our college is semi-government and still undergoing construction work. Our batch is the first batch of the college, and eligible students get a scholarship. Extracurricular activities in our college are not many, but they're good.

Not the worst choice but t also not the best!
Placements: In our college GOC Barmer, the first batch is still in its internship process, so there is no passout batch. It's a government MBBS college so placement is totally based on your merit and if you want to get a good branch, you will need to go in further exams.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not up to the mark as some places are still under construction and there are total 6 lecture theatres which are fully digital and have AC. There is no Wi-Fi connection in campus. There are well functional labs. There is a fully equipped library with AC and a reading room as well. Hostels are in good condition and as freshers we get triple occupancy rooms and from 3rd year you get single occupancy rooms. Hostel doesn't have AC or Wi-Fi. For sports we have volleyball, football, cricket, badminton. Good mess facility available.
Faculty: As any other new government MBBS college in Rajasthan, we are short of teaching staff but the teaching present are fully qualified to be there. Teachers are helpful to their maximum extent and practical teaching is given importance. Overall there is a lack of teaching staff but the staff that is present is good.
Other: Fests do happen in our college but don't accept too much from it.
