Highlights of the NEET Postcard Size Photograph

NTA has provided the details for the format and dimensions of the NEET postcard-size photo to be uploaded on the NEET 2024 application form. The following table brings the details regarding the NEET postcard size photographs.

Q:   What is the NEET admit card 2025 release date?

A:

The NEET 2025 admit card is likely to be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), in the first week of May 2024, approximately three to four days before the exam date. Although the date of the exam has not been announced yet, it is likely that NEET 2025 will be held in the first week of May 2025. Accordingly, the NEET admit card 2025 will be released either in the fourth week of April 2025 or the first week of May 2025. 

Prior to the release of the NEET admit card, NTA releases the advance intimation of exam city slip. The document mentions the city of the NEET exam centre allotted to candidates. Generally, NTA does not release the NEET admit card release date in advance. Candidates will have to log in to the NEET website with the registration credentials to download the admit card of NEET 2025. 

Q:   What is the format of NEET admit card?

A:

The NEET admit card or hall ticket is released online in PDF format. Upon logging in to the official website of NEET 2024 with the registration credentials, candidates will have to click on the tab indicating NEET 2024 admit card download and the document will open in PDF format. To access the file of NEET admit card, candidates must have downloaded Acrobat Reader or similar software on their computer system. Candidates will have to save the document in PDF format and take multiple printouts before the exam day.  They must save and preserve both the hardcopy and the softcopy of the NEET 2024 admit card till the admission process is over. 

Q:   What are the information required to download the NEET admit card?

A:

The NEET admit card had to be downloaded online from the official website of the NEET 2024. The details or the information to be entered are given below:

  • NEET 2024 application number
  • Date of Birth
  • Security Code or Captcha

In case candidates forget the credentials or the NEET 2024 application number or password, they will have to click on the Forgot Application Number or Forgot Password tab and retrieve the details.

Guidelines Regarding Postcard Size Photo for NEET

NTA has also stated some other guidelines regarding post card size photos for NEET. Let us take a look at the details here.

  • Candidates’ faces should be clearly visible including 80 per cent of candidates’ faces and ears

  • The photograph should not be more than six months old

  • Candidates should not click the photograph wearing caps, sunglasses, or spectacles unless they wear them regularly

  • The photograph should be taken on or after January 1, 2024

  • The background of the photograph should be plain white

  • Polaroid and Computer-generated photos are not acceptable

  • The photograph need not be attested, however, the candidate’s name and date of taking the photo must appear below the image

  • Candidates may note that if the photographs uploaded are found to be fabricated i.e. de-shaped or seem to be hand-made or computer-made, the application of the candidate will be rejected and the same would be considered as using Unfair Means and the candidate would be dealt with accordingly.

  • If someone else’s photographs have been uploaded, the candidature shall be cancelled and the case will be considered an Unfair Means Case. Criminal action as per the laws of the land shall also be initiated.

  • The same Passport size and postcard size photographs are to be used for uploading with the online application Form and for pasting on the Attendance Sheet at the Examination Centre / Counselling / Admission. Candidates are reminded to keep 6 to 8 passport size and 4 to 6 postcard size (4”X6”) colour photographs with white backgrounds.

Instructions for Filling NEET 2024 Application Form

Candidates need to fill the NEET 2024 application form by following the steps given below:

  • Visit the NEET 2024 website – neet.ntaonline.in

  • Click on the New Registration link

  • Enter the mandatory information including the personal and communication details

  • Select the password, and security question and submit

  • Proceed to the application form and fill up the sections such as personal details, contact details, educational details, select question paper medium and NEET 2024 exam centre city

  • Upload documents in the suggested size and format

  • Pay the application fee

  • Download and print the application confirmation

The NEET 2024 application process started on February 9. The last date to apply for the exam was extended from March 9 to March 16, 2024. The NEET 2024 exam will be conducted on May 5 in 568 cities across India and abroad.

Q:   What is the process to download NEET OMR sheets?

A:

Along with the provisional NEET answer keys, NTA releases the NEET OMR sheets of the test takers. Candidates will be able to download those from the official website of NEET. Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to download the NEET OMR sheet:

  1. Visit the official website of NEET, which is exams.nta.ac.in/NEET
  2. Click on the link indicating NEET OMR sheet download
  3. Enter the login credentials
  4. Click on ‘OMR Challenge’ tab
  5. Click on ‘Click here to view your OMR Answer Sheet’
  6. Check the scanned image of the answer sheet uploaded by NTA
  7. Download and save the NEET OMR sheet for future reference

After downloading the NEET OMR sheets, candidates must check carefully whether it is in the same condition as the one they had submitted. In case there is any discrepancy, they can submit challenges or objections. In case there is no discrepancy, they can calculate their estimated scores by tallying their responses with the NEET provisional answer keys. 

Q:   What is the specification of the photograph that needs to be pasted on the admit card of NEET 2024?

A:

Candidates have to paste their postcard-size photograph of 4"x6" dimension on the NEET 2024 admit card before reaching the exam centre. The photograph should be the same as that uploaded during the NEET 2024 application process. The photograph should be clearly visible and legible and fulfills the guidelines given by NTA. The photograph has to be pasted properly on the admit card so that it does not drop off from the document. The photograph should follow the parameters given below:

  • The photograph should not be older than January 2024
  • Candidates should not be wearing caps or sunglasses or face mask
  • Both ears should be clearly visible
  • The photograph should have been taken against a white background
  • Candidates will have to sign on the photograph on the left side NTA states that it is mandatory to paste the photograph on the admit card, otherwise it would lead to disqualification.

Q:   Will NTA send the NEET 2024 admit card via post?

A:

No, NTA did not send the NEET 2024 admit card by post and candidates have to download it online from the official website. Students who will appear for NEET must download the admit card in an online mode as and when it was released and not delay it till last moment. Candidates are advised to take multiple printouts and check the details printed on the NEET admit card 2024 carefully. In case a candidate lacks a proper internet connection, then he or she can visit a nearby Common Service Centre or CSC or take the help of teachers or peers to download and print the admit card of NEET 2024.

Q:   How can I get a duplicate NEET admit card in case I lose it?

A:

Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of NTA. The admit card can be downloaded any number of times before the examination day. Candidates are advised to save a soft copy for future reference. Also, NTA will email a copy of the admit card to your registered email Id, you can download it from the email. NTA will also upload the NEET 2024 admit card at the DigiLocker and Sandes App and candidates will be able to download the important documents from there as well.

Q:   Will NTA announce the NEET admit card release date in advance?

A:

Generally, NTA does not release the NEET admit card release date in advance. The NEET 2024 admit card was released three days before the exam day. NTA releases the advance intimation to exam city slip first, followed by which, the admit card is released. The year 2021 was an exception wherein NTA had announced the NEET admit card release date in advance. However, even if the exam authorities does not announce the date, candidates should keep a check on the official website of the exam to know as and when the NEET 2024 admit card is released.

You cannot get admission into MBBS course at any Medical College without clearing the NEET Entrance Exam. Even for admission in Private Medical Colleges you need atleast 150 marks out of 720 in NEET. However you can join MBBS directly if you go abroad.
