Over all good college, but the placements are less for Science students .
Placements: As I am studying B.Sc. cbz apart from Chemistry we don't have much placement here, but majority of people opt for higher studies. Usually the people who passed in the all 2nd PU BOARD exams are eligible for admission. The salary package starts from 15000-30000 initially. The major companies I have seen is wistron, honda, telecell etc. Usually the students who go on Chemistry field are eligible for most of the companies but the students who go with botany and zoology have compatibly less scope (based on degree) but have high scope in diet and dairy.
Infrastructure: Labs and classes are good, library is not up to the mark because its just have a limited sources and the taking and returning procedures are very tough according to me. Wi-Fi facilities are nill. There is hostel near by the college itself, but I am native of kolar so I don't need to try that. But as per my friends suggestion food facilities are not good. There is no canteen and mess right there in the college, medical facilities are quit not good. But when we come to sports and games Our college tops the rank as they won lot of matches over talk and district games even it is indoor or outdoor.
Faculty: Teachers are well trained with experience. As compared to other colleges our college get the good marks and gold medals ever year that the credit goes to our lectures. Teaching quality is also up to the mark. As we are studying cbz it's totally based on teaching field or else for research field. Even before covid there was field visit ever year, we are the last batch who went for field visit I think. In our college limited courses are available among them I feel like cbz is easy if the student is interested in Biology and if the student regularly attain the classes need not read for the exam at all. If not can refer the notes 45 is the passing percent for every students, that is 21 out of 70 marks. We have 3years, 6 semesters and 8 papers for each subject.
Other: As I am interested in Biology and not only that I found tough in mathematics I preferred cbz over pcm. I joined in 2019 for B.Sc. . cbz Chemistry botany, zoology) the best thing about the course is easy, for you future studies not only the opted subjects you can go with other fields too like foodtech, food Science and nutrition, forensic etc. I will suggest to change the temperory faculty members I don't feel that they are good enough to each for B.Sc. . students where as the permanent faculty members are awesome except some. All the fest are celebrating here including food fest and ethnics day. Gcwk is the high population college which is about 4000-6000 students. Campus surrounding is vast with open auditorium and garden. Not only this the unique feature about our college is gym and study hall. And recently started compitative exam coaching. Extracurricular activities depends on students interests like NCC, NSS. Camps etc. Scholarship are available for st and sc students in college itself where as the other students should apply by there interest.
