You need to know about GLIM.

Overall a decent college for MBA.

Placements: Placements are decent in Great Lakes. Average package is around 10 lac. Almost every student gets placed in campus recruitment and their salary range is 6 lac to 18 lac. From big giant corporations like Mckinsey & Co. , JP Morgan etc. To new successful startups, all sorts of industries visits for the campus placements. Best for students who want to go in I-T sector. Internship companies scenario is also commendable as same companies visit for internships.

MBA with good placements and excellent campus experience is no longer a dream.

Placements: More than 100 students out of 120 getting placed for interns before the month of January is something really noteworthy. Marking the roll of fifth batch, marquee corporate like Amazon have considered my batch students for interns and subsequent PPO's. The placement scenario for my seniors is even more better with only a handful yet to be placed.

The curriculum is huge, but placements are low.

Placements: Until now, only Deloitte has visited the college as a mass recruiter, and it hired 56 students from PGPM branch. Other than this, there are minor recruiters like Honeywell, where one candidate was selected. A company named Virtusa has offered 6 PPOs, and HSBC has hired six candidates. Placements are not as per the expectations considering the curriculum. It is a good option for TCS sabbaticals as they can join back TCS after PGPM. But, it is not good for those who join this college after resigni...

The placements, faculty and campus are great in Great Lakes.

Placements: We have good placements record with each year passing. Our senior batches had almost 100% placement. Every year, the new recruiters visit the campus for internships as well as placements. Current PGDM batch had 100% internship placement. The students were placed in good companies who are ready to make PPO offers as well.

Good infra with average to good faculty and placements.

Placements: Placements are much better for our batch as compared to our seniors. Quite a lot of opportunities if captured properly by the students. The placement team works till the very end to get everyone placed. Great learnings in internships for PGDM. Huge batch size of 600 is always placed.

A decent, tier 2 college, a bit biased towards Tamilians.

Placements: The placements for PGDM course are decent, few big companies and 1-2 FMCG come every year. The average CTC is around 7-8 LPA. The placements committee is a bit biased for Tamilians. From this year, one more rule is implemented, that you can't reject PPO.

An honest review of Great Lakes PGPM.

Placements: There are 100% placements here. The highest package offered is approximately 50 lakhs/annum and the average package offered is 10+ lakhs/annum. Post the cream companies like Deloitte and ZS, most of the companies that came to the campus were based in Chennai. The placements are good, but the placement director is unapproachable as he has an attitude problem and is hated by most. Switching to a different stream would be extremely difficult here.

Known for PGPM, the professors used to be top notch from around the world and thus knowledge imparted was of high quality. The placement team gives the facilities of placement but doesn’t give a real picture at the time of admissions. The placements are limited only to IT companies. There is limited focus on practical knowledge. Strategy courses are good. The college has a plush green campus but the fees is too high in terms of the returns.

Great infrastructure but it comes with a cost.

Placements: Since it is a one-year course, there is no internship. The placement period starts after the 3rd semester. Some companies come before the placement period like Deloitte, CBC etc, but the median package offered is a little less. The roles offered will be mainly based on your previous experience.

Great Lakes was one of the earliest colleges to come up with this innovative 1-year fast track MBA program on the lines of Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. It is 10 years old now and it has come a long way from its humble beginnings. It has 50% international faculty members who are very good. The in-house faculty is average. At a fee of rupees 17 lakhs, it is not an ideal value-for-money course as the average campus placement CTC hovers around rupees 10 lakhs per annum. It has a beautiful...

It has a superb infrastructure and excellent faculty. Recreational facilities are provided, but the college can work to make it better. Internet speed is awesome, classrooms are well designed, the library has ample books on management, but the educational database subscriptions should be expanded for more enhanced learning. The faculty is the best. The placements are poor and the college needs to work hard. Overall, I would like to recommend this college to juniors from a learning perspective, ...
