Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Really good faculty and best campus life.
Placements: Better placement than previous year this year in our college more mechanical student placed instead of CS first time ever. Top recruiting companies is Bosch, Mahindra and Altos at average package of 2.8LPA. Armstrong automation hire 20 student as a intern at 15k stipend. Top role offered is Graduate engineer Trainee.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is the best; there is a strict dress code for both students and faculty, and Wi-Fi is available at the 3rd floor library with a variety of books. Our college does not have a hostel, so I stayed in an outside room with me and three other shared rooms with all the essential facilities, healthy mess food and a breakfast salad meal. Sports events are held once a semester.
Faculty: Faculty is very helpful. If we do not understand any concept during the exam period, we can message or call them to clear our doubts. The course curriculum is hard; our university is Savitribai Phule University. Regular exams are held by teachers in each chapter only for practice. Semester exams are difficult but with college-given notes, they become a little easier to clear. Pass percentage is 70% in the 3rd year.
Other: I chose this course because previously I took an external course in mechanics.

I am satisfied with this college because of its faculty members and placements.
Placements: The placement percentage of our college is 80%. The placement cell helps to connect students to the company. Many high-rated and top-class companies come to recruit students from various fields. Our college plays a major role in helping students to get recruited by various top-rated companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college provides us with all facilities. Laboratories are well-maintained. They conduct sports events. The hostel facility is not available in our college. Students have to live in rental rooms outside.
Faculty: Our faculty members are helpful. They help us in all possible ways. They help students if they face any issues related to academics and personal. They complete the syllabus on time. They give some time for their self-studies too. Exams are conducted before the main university exam to know how much students are prepared for their upcoming exams.

Highly recommend. Guru Gobind Singh College provides a great curriculum, academics, and environment.
Placements: The total number of students for the course is approximately 75. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is around 1 LPA - 2 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Mahindra, Siemens, etc. Many students get placed in companies through college placements every year.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very well-maintained. They are in a very good condition. Each department is provided with Wi-Fi. The library is very beneficial for students. The quality of food provided in the canteen is very good. The focus on sports is less.
Faculty: Teachers here are well-qualified and have good teaching skills. I didn't agree with the point that the degree or whatever teachers teach students will make them ready for the industry. Semester exams are held very strictly. The basic passing criteria for each subject is a minimum of 40 marks.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in automobiles and machines. The best thing about the course is that students get to learn about every small thing about automobiles. According to me, this course is perfect. Events held are very enthusiastic. Many events are conducted by the particular departments. The event named MESA is held by the mechanical branch.

The college needs improvements as soon as poosible.
Placements: Merely 30-40% of the pass students in a batch got placed. The highest salary package offered was 2 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was 1 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Technoshell Nashik and Armstrong Automation Nashik. The top roles offered were marketing and quality assurance.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is more than adequate for every student's needs, and Wi-Fi is available on each floor. Our library is well-equipped. The labs are decent. The quality of food served is average in the hostel, and the medical facilities are excellent with the prompt response. Sports equipment is \available for all kinds of sports.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified in their respective subjects. The teaching quality is excellent. The course curriculum is focused more on theoretical knowledge rather than practical due to which students have to acquire extra skills to be industry-ready. The semester exams are moderately difficult. The passing percentage is above 90%.

Our college has average infrastructure and facilities, but negligible placements.
Placements: Out of more than 140 students in our class, maybe 1 or 2 got placed through the college campus, which is less than 1%. The highest salary package offered was of 3.5 LPA. Top recruiters are Bosch and Siemens. Top role offered here is as a junior engineer.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college building is pretty average. Wi-Fi connection is slow, and labs have limited equipment /or instruments. Classrooms are very basic with computers and there is a projector only in seminar halls. The library has some course-related books but there, not many books for general reading. Journals and newsletters are also in limited numbers. The college canteen has basic dishes on the menu, but the taste is good. I'm not aware of medical facilities but they do have a basketball court and small ground to play. College doesn't provide hostel facilities. We have to look for rooms if we want to live near campus.
Faculty: Teachers here are good. But due to the pandemic, the teaching quality has decreased drastically. Though the curriculum has covered many important topics, I do think it needs revision. Students are not industry-ready because they have less practical knowledge. Exams are pretty fine most time. Sometimes it does get difficult though.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering because I always wanted to be one. I hope that we can gain more practical knowledge.
