Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

* Infrastructure: The college has a good infrastructure, with modern classrooms, laboratories, and recreational facilities. However, some students noted that the hostel building was basic and lacked amenities.
* Faculty: The faculty members are generally well-qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. However, a few students expressed disappointment with the teaching quality and the lack of industry exposure.
* Course Curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant, and students praised the hands-on experience and practical knowledge gained. However, some students felt that the curriculum could be updated to reflect current industry trends.
* Extracurricular Activities: The college offers various extracurricular activities, including cultural festivals and sports events. However, some students felt that these activities could be improved.
* Scholarship Opportunities: The college offers scholarships to deserving students, particularly from reserved categories.
* Campus Life: The college campus is situated in a peaceful environment, making it ideal for studying. However, some students noted that the surrounding area lacked amenities and entertainment options.
* Alumni Network: Alumni reviews were mixed, with some praising the network and others expressing disappointment with the lack of connections.

In conclusion, while SVIT has its strengths, such as modern infrastructure and a relevant course curriculum, it faces challenges in terms of placement scenarios, faculty quality, and extracurricular activities. B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2023

My Experience and reality of SVIT, Nashik.
Placements: The college's placement scenario in 2023 was notably low, with only four companies conducting on-campus hiring, offering an average salary of $15,000. JSW and Praz emerged as the top hiring companies, with most students securing jobs through off-campus drives. The primary role offered was that of a maintenance engineer. The college's Training and Placement (T&P) cell needs to comprehend the mental stress faced by students due to the job scarcity.
Infrastructure: The college boasts good infrastructure; our department has been allocated a separate CAD/CAM lab. Hostel services are available round the clock. Sports facilities include a basketball court, table tennis area, badminton court, and a cricket and football ground. The college organizes departmental-level competitions annually. The library remains open 24 hours, except on Sundays.
Faculty: The teachers are both helpful and qualified, with most having cleared the GATE exam and possessing years of teaching experience. They excel in knowledge. The course includes practical sessions on designing tools like CAD/CAM and CATIA, focusing on emerging industry skills. While exams are challenging, around 80% of our class manages to pass.
Other: My brother, a senior at this college, influenced my parents to enroll me here. However, there are several areas that require improvement. All fests and activities are organized annually in January and February.

It has good placements in 2019–20 and average facilities but is suitable for fees.
Placements: College gives very rare opportunities for placements to our batchmates. Only 2 or 3 average companies come into college, and they have only a 1.5 LPA salary package for students after placements. Students can try off-campus drives.
Infrastructure: The mess is average. Only a few items are good, and others are very bad in taste. The canteen is average. Only a few items are available in the canteen. There are good facilities for sports. Classrooms are clean and fresh in nature. The library is good but sometimes has a loose internet connection.
Faculty: It is good while facing semester exams. The pass percentage is 70% to 80%. Semester exams are good because of the 2 or 3 practice exams conducted by the college. They provide a question set for the final exam. So students are not confused while facing an exam and that's why the pass percentage is good.
Other: There are no extracurricular activities other than teaching. Surrounding nature is fine in the rainy and winter seasons, but very bad in the summer. It is easy to reach here.

Not much satisfied with placements, but the course and infrastructure are good.
Placements: The placements are not much good. We have to go for off-campus placements. We need to work on our own for placements. Some faculty members are good and can help us and provide better guidance. But no placement assistance is provided like in other colleges in the same district. One will regret joining here if they are looking for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The campus environment is very good. Wi-Fi is available. Mess facilities are available only in the hostel. The canteen is not in good condition.
Faculty: All the faculty are good. They make students eligible to work for a better future in the industry. The college is not much good for placements.
Other: Overall, it is good for students with less marks in the entrance exams. It provides you with a degree.

One of the best engineering college in Nashik.
Placements: From my batch, 8-10 students were placed in different companies. For Mechanical, the highest Package offered - 5 LPA (IT Company) the lowest Package offered - 3.2 LPA (JSW) Top Recruiting companies were: 1) JSW (Jindal Saw Limited Nashik) 2) KSB Pumps Pune 3) Technoforge (visits every year) 4) Technoforce 5) Praz Industries 6) Some IT Companies also visit for hiring mechanical engineers. 7) Other small scale agricultural and pharmeceutical having MOU with SVIT also visit. As such, for our batch, there wasn't any internship provided by college but right now they are providing mandatory internships to Final year students so as to improve their practical exposure to industrial processes and equipments. Top Roles offered were: 1) Graduate Engineer Trainee 2) Production Engineer 3) Junior Design Engineer .
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is also one of the strength of this college since its location is very peaceful and away from crows with a Mountain View Hostel separately for boys and girls. There is seperate departmental building for mechanical students equipped with all labs (FM, SOM, TOM, DOM, MQC, HT, CAD CAM Labs) required. There is also a seminar hall separately for departmental activities, Presentations, and Guest Lectures for mechanical Students only. The hostel and mess facilities are also very good. It is cleaned and maintained on daily basis. The food served is also of good quality and menu keeps on changing everyday depending on students requirement. The food facilities are free for Staff and students other than hostelite can also have at an affordable cost. There are medical facilities also available for students of hostel 24 X 7. Talking about the sport facilities, college has Indoor Basketball Court with maple wood flooring where almost all regional level competitions take place and students of other reputed colleges come to play. Also, there is football ground, Table tennis court, Badminton court, cricket ground where every year competitions are conducted at departmental level and regional levels in our college itself. This gives students to develop their sports skills along with the academic studies. College promotes and provides immense opportunities to students for their overall development.
Faculty: Definitely the professors teaching here are post graduates and teaching from many years. They are sufficiently qualified and knowledgeable. Specially, for the mechanical students, they need not worry regarding the quality of teaching in SVIT as far as University Level Exams are concerned. But if you are targeting for GATE ESE level Exams, you need to definitely rely on coaching institutes since they are exam specific and it is obviously not possible for any college (except IITs and NITs) to complete each and every subject for competitive exams in such a short period of time. One thing I want to highlight is that the university syllabus is little bit outdated and there is requirement to bridge this gab by continuously providing industry level exposure and training to students by identifying their career goals or targeting the relevant skills or technologies used in top MNCs (Multinational Companies) or OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), thereby, training the students accordingly. This will strengthen their portfolio or resume and make them stand away from crowd in today competitive scenario. One advise I want to give to students is to actively participate in all activities or opportunities offered by your college so as to improve your personality and develop your skills which will make you employable after completing your graduation.
Other: I selected this course as a consequence of my keen interest in Machines and their working along with automotive technologies. This is also very important for you to choose your goal and plan your life after 4 years of graduation before enrolling in these cources since avoiding this may harm your career in different aspects. To improve the effectiveness of this course, I would suggest that students apply the knowledge gained in order to solve real life problems right at this stage of your career afterall this is what engineering is all about. Colleges should make compulsory for students to do at least 2 projects each semester in order to inculcate innovation in them. This will improve their way of dealing with industrial problems well before they get into it. Evey year College level and department level events are organised so as to allow students to improve their skills and showcase them. The college is located away from city and so it is a peaceful place without any pollution providing safe environment to students. As far as connectivity is concerned, it is not of much concern since there are shops inside the college premises providing all daily use stuff. Campus is surrounded by mountains so as to give it a beautiful look. There is Scholarship for different categories such as SC/ST, OBS, etc. For SC/ST categories, the fees was as low as 36000 per year in 2017. Now, it might have increased little bit.
