IIIT Ranchi was established in 2016 by the MoE, the Government of India, and the Government of Jharkhand along with the industry partners TCS, TTL, and CCL in a Public Private Partnership. Indian Institute of Information Technology Ranchi is given the status of the Institute of National Importance under the Act of Parliament.
