Placement, campus life, research and growth - IIT Gandhinagar.
Placements: In 2024, IIT Gandhinagar placement has seen a recession. About 164 students have registered for the placements, of whom 125 students successfully secured a job. The average package was Rs 18.20 LPA overall. The average package of BTech CSE students was around 22.73 LPA, while MTech CSE students secured an average package of 21.05 LPA. Still, it is better than last year, in which 398 students registered, of whom 163 were placed, making an average package of 19.60 LPA. This year, one of the 4th year electrical engineering students got an offer of 48 LPA.
Infrastructure: One of the best thing I liked the most about IIT Gandhinagar is its sports facilities. If you are a sportsperson, you should definitely opt this. It has a sports complex which has indoor playing facilities for volleyball, badminton, basketball, and table tennis. Also, 2 indoor swimming pools are also available 24/7 except for Monday, which is the cleaning day. The Gym here is very large and fits with AC. Talking of outdoor games: it has 2 big grounds for cricket with big lights, which are typically in stadiums; it also has a big ground for football around which an athletic track was drawn. Net practice for cricket and tennis is also available. Coming to the hostel: All room have AC, which is centrally controlled. One downside for freshmen is that you have to adjust in a 4 sharing, which is built for 3. 4th year students get a single sharing room. All the bathrooms are properly cleaned every day. It has support for both cold and hot water to bathe with. The lights are automated. Each floor in the hostel have a fridge, one water cooler, one microwave and an induction cooker. They also provide laundry facilities twice a week. Mess food are nearly nice for veggies ( as Gujaratis prefer veg more) and you have to pay an amount of $60 for eating nonveg (but egg are free). Inside the campus canteens, Amul shop, general grocery, stationary and sports shops are available. library is best as long as you not opt for story books. All classrooms are connected with ac, 2/3 projectors. Labs are very well maintained and have great facilities. You can go anytime and 3d print a part you want to. Inter-Hotel movement is allowed and there is also no restriction for going out of campus in the night. The college provide bus facility to go out of campus to nearby by market. The unlimited wi-fi is available all places on campus, giving an average speed of 700mbps mbps on the phone and 250mbps mbps on the laptop. Of course you can connect laptop with ethernet to get higher speed. We have a students lounge inside the campus which has games like football, chess, etc. The unique thing I discovered here is the skywalk. Most of the hostels and mess are connected with an overhead bridge.
Faculty: I am joined in the ICDT branch. Of course, after the breakthrough in AI, it will flourish in the future. Also, there is going to be new industries setting up in Gujarat. The curriculum includes VLSE Design, Microelectronics, Physics of Transistors, Asynchronous Circuit Design, Analog CMOS IC Design, IC Design Lab, Nanoscale Device Engineering, Microfabrication and Semiconductor Process, Machine Learning, Memory Device Technologies and Applications.
Other: I choose this course because it is already available in IITH and gained a much more demand in 2-3 years. I also think that similar will happen hear also. The course does not contain more electronics topics, it mighty added for the future batch. Coming to event IIT Gandhinagar is not performing that much good. The Ganesh Chaturthi was held in a smaller way. Not much decoration and not much sounds and stuff like that. I thought that there will be garba nights during Navratri but as soon as holiday announced most of the students gone home. Our cultural fest is going to be held in march or so. Other clubs are also organize their fest from November onwards. But you get lot of extracurricular activities to do. Too much project to keep you engaged. You will be making car models, prepare the design of your own product and making that and lot more. This provides a great platform to show your design and innovative skill.

The college infrastructure is very good. I am disappointed by the overall placement.
Placements: Our college has a good placement ratio. This year, its placement was 76.02%, with the college average package being 19.02 LPA. Note the difference in college average package and branch average package; both are different. From my course, 98.9% was placement ratio, and internships are available in Samsung, Microsoft, etc.
Infrastructure: We have good speed of Wi-Fi around 100 MB/s, with fully furnished labs. The classroom and library are amazing. The library also has a kids' zone and full ACs. It's like a wow! It has a very wide collection of books and resources and even contains CDs. We have various shops inside the campus.
Faculty: We have a different curriculum from all the IITs, which makes our IIT unique. Teachers are very knowledgeable, and if you go to them, they are always ready to help. The curriculum will guarantee you will be industry-ready. The semester exams are at a moderate level, and the pass percentage varies with each subject.

Great exposure with next level learnings.
Placements: The placements are excellent and the college has maintained a record of 100% placement results. The average package offered was somewhere around 19 Lacs. The top recruiters were IT companies like Infosys, Oracle, Accenture, Rakuten, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good with the Wi-Fi available across the campus. The laboratories are very advanced and the campus has different laboratories as per various discipline options available. The library is well stocked with the latest resources along with the classrooms being modern.
Faculty: The faculty members are very well-experienced and qualified. They are enriched with good industry exposure and are scholars from good Universities. The curriculum is nicely crafted wherein it is made to be rigorous and industry-oriented and focuses on both theoretical and practical aspects.

IIT Gandhinagar short review.
Placements: Placement here is decent. Not very big companies tend to come here for placements. The main reason for that might be the fact that the computer science branch has been recently introduced here, but definitely it will significantly improve over time as more cs branches such as AI have been introduced here.
Infrastructure: It has the best hostel facilities. If you opt for the newly built hostels, they will provide you with triple, double, and single(mostly in final and pre-final year). Each floor has a kitchen with an induction microwave and a fridge. Bathrooms are like for 5-7 people. There is a bathroom mostly all the hostels have bathroom of both ends of the corridor except for the old hostels, which only have 2 bathrooms on each floor, but they are big ones. Coming towards the labs for my course, they are also good. They almost have all the machinery which is also accessible to all the students. So far as projects are concerned, they tend to reimburse the material that has been consumed in that.
Faculty: Exams here are quite tough as the professor here tries to check your understanding of the topic; therefore, if your basic understanding of the topic is not clear, you will not be able to score well in exams. We follow a 2-examination system followed by multiple quizzes during the semester. Also, there are some assignments which are also part of grading. Grading is totally dependent on the professor, and no one can comment on that. Mostly, the professor follows relative grading compared to absolute grading.
Other: There is very less crowd and campus life here because the intake here is very low. The last year intake was just 400 in BTech and the total strength of students would just be around 2500, which is just 2 years of strength of some bigger IITs. Due to which there is not very diverse culture here. But as the new hostels are being made, intake would also increase.

IIT Gandhinagar: Pros and cons.
Placements: I am enrolled in B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering and the placements were quite good. Almost all the students who were interested in placements got placed. The average package was around 25 LPA for CSE. The top recruiting companies that visited our campus were Graviton, Texas Instruments, Zomato, etc. Talking about internships, around 70% of the CSE students got summer internships in various companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of IIT Gandhinagar is very good and world-class. The hostel and academic buildings have outstanding architecture. High-speed wifi is available all the time. The library is also there where students can go and study; almost all varieties of books are available there. Computer labs are also available for students to use every time.
Faculty: The professors here are highly qualified and have quite vast knowledge of their subjects. Students are encouraged to take research projects under the professors, which is quite helpful for the students who want to make their career in academia. The course curriculum is very relevant and latest. There are two exams per semester, i.e., midterm and endterm exams.
Other: The institute offers great facilities for sport. Students are encouraged to take one sport along with their studies.

Review of B.Tech in Electronics from the IIT, Gandhinagar.
Placements: All the students of this branch of engineering were getting placements opportunities at the IITGN. The average package offered at this college was 4–7 LPA. The top recruiting companies were TCS, Philips, Infosys, Wipro, Tata Motors, etc. Most of the students were also getting internship opportunities at this college.
Infrastructure: This college had very good infrastructure for our course. The college had labs for our course with all the required equipment. Wi-Fi, library, sports, canteen, etc. facilities were also available on the college campus for the students. The hostel facility was also available for the students. The food in the hostel mess was good to eat. The quality of the rooms in the hostel was also good.
Faculty: Our college had highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers for our course. All the teachers were giving proper practical and theoretical knowledge to the students. The course curriculum of the IITGN was relevant and made the students industry-ready. Exams were not that easy to pass at this college.
