Q:   How to get admission in a M.Tech course at IIT Jodhpur?

A: 

The selection is based on GATE scores followed by COAP Counselling. Candidates shortlisted are invited for written exam or interview round for final selections. Aspirants shall complete the GATE application process  (gate.iitk.ac.in) within the due date to be eligible for admission as there is no other provision for admission. With a valid COAP score, students may have to apply on IITJ website as well.

Q:   Is it worth doing MTech from IIT Jodhpur?

A: 

IITJ is ranked 30 among top Engineering institutes as per the NIRF 2022 rankings. The institute has a good placements record. The median package offered to MTech CSE and M.Tech AI students were INR 14 LPA and INR 14.5 LPA, respectively. Some of the top companies that participated in the IIT Jodhpur placements drive were Accenture, Adobe, Amazon, IBM, TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc.

Q:   Is any financial assistance given to M.Tech programme students at IIT Jodhpur?

A: 

 Candidates with a BE, BTech, BS, or BDes degree and a GATE or GPAT qualification are eligible for financial aid worth INR 12,400 per month. Even if they do not pass the GATE exam, IIT BTech graduates with a CGPA of 8 or higher are eligible for assistantships. Sponsored category students cannot get an IITJ assistantship, nevertheless. This data is as per past years' records and hence may vary.

Q:   How can I get admission to the BSc plus M.Tech dual degree programme at IIT Jodhpur?

A: 

A BS student at IIT Jodhpur who have opted for specific specialisation with CGPA of six or more at the end of the seventh semester and who fulfil the minimum credit requirements established by the institute are allowed to switch to the BS plus M.Tech dual degree programme in the chosen specialisation at the beginning of the eighth semester.

    Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

    A: 

    Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.
