One such scholarship is the Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses CS, which is available to OBC category students with 50% and above marks, and whose annual family income is below INR 2.50 lakhs. There are a total of INR 60,000 fresh scholarships available nationally annually for this category. Additionally, scholarships are also provided for students with disabilities, with a requirement of 40% or more disability and an annual parental family income below INR 6 lakhs. A total of INR 17,000 fresh scholarships are available nationally annually for students with disabilities.

Yes, IIT Palakkad offers a two-year MTech programme in six specialisations. These specialisations are Geotechnical Engineering and Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Manufacturing and Materials Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, Data Science, Power Electronics and Power Systems and System-on-Chip Design. To be eligible for the MTech programme at IIT Palakkad candidates need graduation with 60%. The selection of the candidates who are eligible for the MTech programme happens through GATE and COAP Counselling.

To gain entry into IIT Palakkad applicants need to pass the necessary entrance exams like JEE Main and JEE Advanced for BTech or GATE for MTech. Once they qualify they will take part in the JoSAA counseling for BTech or the appropriate counseling for other programs. The total tuition fee of the MTech course at IIT Palakkad is INR 10,000 for the entire two years, although there are other components that might be added to the total tuition fee at the time of admission.
