IIT Palakkad offers various scholarships for its BTech programme, targeting students from diverse financial backgrounds. Some of the scholarships include:

• Full Fee Remission: Provided to students with an annual family income below 1 Lacs per annum, granting a full tuition fee waiver of INR 1 Lacs per semester.
• Two-Third Fee Remission: Eligible for students with an annual family income between 1 Lacs and below 5 Lacs per annum, offering a two-thirds tuition fee waiver of approximately INR 66,667 per semester.
• MCM Scholarship: Available for students with an annual family income below 4.5 Lacs per annum, based on their JEE rank. It covers the full tuition fee (INR 1 Lacs per semester) and provides INR 1,000 per month as pocket money for four months in a semester.
• SC/ST Scholarship: Open to students belonging to the SC/ST community with an annual family income below 4.5 lakhs. It includes waiving hostel accommodation and dining charges (approximately INR 27,000 per semester) and providing INR 250 per month as pocket money for four months in a semester.
• PwD Fee Waiver: Reserved for students holding a disability certificate, offering a full tuition fee waiver of INR 1 Lacs per semester.

For admission to the BTech programme at IIT Palakkad, candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 75% in PCM in Class 12. The selection process involves clearing the JEE Main and qualifying for the JEE Advanced, both national-level engineering entrance exams. The JEE Main evaluates candidates' knowledge and aptitude in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, while the JEE Advanced assesses their problem-solving skills. After qualifying in the JEE Advanced, candidates participate in the JoSAA Counselling, conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority.  Admission to BTech course is based on JEE Main, JEE Advanced scores followed by JoSAA Counselling. In order to apply for BTech at IIT Palakkad, students are required to apply via JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application.

Before the JEE Main 2023 registration process, students must keep the following documents and information ready for a smooth application process:

• Valid email-id and mobile number
• Academic details related to the Class 10 and Class 12 qualifying exams
• Scanned copy of category certificate (if applicable)
• Scanned copy of PwD certificate (if applicable)
• Scanned photograph and signature as per the specification mentioned by the NTA

To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Technology programme at the IIT Palakkad, candidates must have passed their Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 13417 and closing rank was 15714. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 20686 and 23260. Admission to BTech in Civil Engineering in IIT Palakkad - Indian Institute of Technology is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

The Round 1 JEE Advanced cutoff 2023 was released on June 30 for IIT Palakkad admission to the BTech, Integrated BTech and BArch courses. For BTech in Civil Engineering, the Round 1 opening rank was 13086, whereas the closing cutoff rank stood at 14330 for the General All India category students. 

For 2022, cut off was 15714 for General category candidates in the All India quota for BTech in Civil Engineering at IIT Palakkad - Indian Institute of Technology. So, considering the previous year's cutoff with 2023, IIT Palakkad witnessed a declining trend for BTech in  Civil Engineering programme. 

The cut off rank in Round 6 for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering is 5162 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Palakkad - Indian Institute of Technology.

The BTech course is offered in five specialisations at IIT Palakkad: Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Data Science Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Data Science is the new addition to the IIT Palakkad BTech programme which was introduced in 2022. The curriculum includes core courses that cover topics such as Mathematics, Probability and Statistics Computational Thinking, Data Management, Modelling and Assessment, and Ethics, providing a strong foundation in these subjects.

BTech at IIT Palakkad is offered under five specialisations namely Civil, Computer Science, Data Science, Mechanical and Electrical. Admission to these courses are entirely dependent on JEE Main exams, and the candidates need a minimum of 75% in their class 12 to be eligible for this programme. Each of the specialisations provided above has a total intake of 40 seats. So the total number of seats for the BTech programme is 200.
