IIT Tirupati offers a two-year M.Tech programme across various specialisations. Admission to this programme is subject to a valid GATE score followed by COAP Counselling. The specialisations available under MTech include Civil & Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Electrical Engineering. These specialisations are also offered across multiple sub-specialisations under these streams. IIT Graduates and GATE qualified candidates can apply for any of the MTech specialisations.

The answer is both yes and no. It is possible to get admission at IIT Tirupati without GATE, but in other courses than MTech. A student can enter into IIT Tirupati via JEE Advanced or IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test) for BTech and MSc. So, if the dream is just to enter into IITs, there are various courses one can pursue except for MTech.
