IISER Mohali BS-MS Eligibility & Highlights 2024
IISER BS-MS is a (dual degree) course and it is a flagship programme offered for five years in four specialisations. IISER BS MS Admission to is through three channels- KVPY, SCB and JEE Advanced. Additionally, the institute also accepts the IISER aptitude test for admission to BS-MS courses. Candidates can apply through more than one channel. Admission to the course is usually done in June-July each year.
Eligibility: Candidates must have completed Class 12 or equivalent level exam with Science stream from any board recognised by the Council of Boards School Education in India (COBSE) with at least 60% aggregate or equivalent (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD) to apply for BS-MS (dual degree) programme. Additionally, aspirants must be an Indian national or PIO or OCI to apply for admission.
IISER BS-MS courses are available in four specialisations i.e., BS MS in Biological Science, BS MS Physical Sciences, BS MS in Mathematical Science and BS MS in Chemical Science. The total seat intake for these courses is 244. The institute also provides 6-8 weeks of research programme, within the duration of the course.
Note: The above seat intake is tentative. A maximum of 25% of the seats will be allocated through KVPY and JEE Advanced channels. The remaining seats will be filled through the SCB channel based on the merit in the IISER Aptitude Test. Unfilled seats from KVPY and JEE channels, if any, will also be added to the SCB channel for allotment.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana scholars admitted to IISERs will draw fellowships as per KVPY norms. In addition, the Department of Science and Technology provides a limited number of INSPIRE scholarships of INR 5000/- per month to candidates admitted through JEE and SCB channels, upon fulfilling the criteria set by DST.
