Campus has good infrastructure and food but placements are absolutely bad.
Placements: I would say placements are quite poor here. Only students with the highest CPI get placed or are offered internships. As of placements, one might probably regret joining here. Last year, only 30% of students were placed while some opted for higher studies, whereas others were left without any option.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good, as it’s a newly built college. It’s clean, and the buildings and hostels are kept cool. While there is no air-conditioner facility in the hostels, the classrooms are equipped with air-conditioners. However, the buildings are a bit far from each other, so you may prefer to cycle rather than walk.
Faculty: I would say it’s okay. Faculty members don’t personally care about your grades. However, teachers have at least 7–8 years of experience in teaching and are graduates from IITs or NITs. Curriculum is well-organised. You get a total of 4 months of holidays per year, with 3 months for summer holidays and 1 month for winter holidays.
Other: Total campus strength is 1,200, so it can get crowded in the libraries and canteens. However, campus is expected to expand in the next 5 years, which should alleviate this issue. As for fests and events, the audience turnout is great, and the organization is pretty good. It might be slightly below your expectations, but overall, it’s decent.

The basic idea about IIT Dharwad.
Placements: Till now, there are no placement data of my course as it started in 2022 and this course is very different, as the course starts in the 4th semester. We have to take our major subjects like Maths, Physics, Bio, and Chemistry, as it is a (4+1) year course. You can exit after the 4th year. This course is very relevant for those who are good in research. By taking Math, you can pursue studies in AIML, which has very good scope, and in Physics, there is Quantum AI and Computing, which is key for placements. As it is an IIT, you have an advantage there. The curriculum is very good and tough, so it can blow your mind.
Infrastructure: Talking about our facilities, we have access to 24/7 Wi-Fi and the library. As it is a 3rd-gen IIT, the infrastructure is not completed yet, so it can take 10 years to be fully developed. The food in the mess is average. The canteen is open till 3:00, so you can go there and enjoy. There is no restriction on roaming; you can roam around the campus. The medical facility here is available 24/7. We have a nurse, and the doctors visit daily, but in restricted time.
Faculty: The faculty here is good, as there are professors who have done their Ph.D. from MIT and other foreign institutes. There are timings for meeting the professors, so you can take your doubts there. About the course, we have to take a major in the 4th semester. You can take Math, Physics, Chemistry, or Bio. The curriculum is very good, as in Physics and Math, we have AIML in our program electives, so you can define your career. There are visiting professors from IIT Bombay and Delhi who take our courses. The semester exam is tough, as it is an IIT. The pass percentage depends on the average of the class. There are labs every week, and credits are also there. If you want to pursue a Master's from other IITs, you can do it without qualifying GATE, just by scoring 8 CPI.
Other: We have a tech fest, cultural fest, etc. As there are approximately 350 seats, the crowd is less, so the professors focus more on us.

Not satisfied with the current state but image build-up will take time.
Placements: About 20 percent of the batch is getting placed. As this is a new IIT, it will take time to make an impactful image among recruiters like old IITs. Top recruiting companies are CRED and HCL. In terms of opportunities, you cannot expect much as the reason is the same; it is a new IIT.
Infrastructure: In the Perma campus, all necessary requirements are fulfilled. There are 4 people sharing rooms with other facilities. For sports, only badminton and squash are available, while for other outdoor sports, we have to go to the temporary campus. Wi-Fi facility is okay, not perfect.
Faculty: This part is the same as other IITs. The level is average for the exam. Professors are helpful, and the course curriculum is also relevant. Plagiarism checks are there in every course, and they directly result in failures. Professors are knowledgeable and also have good behaviour.

Campus life at IIT Dharwad.
Placements: Around 75–80% of students were placed; the highest package offered was 55 LPA, which was offcampus. The highest on-campus package offered was 40 LPA, with an average package of around 12–14 LPA. The major recruiting companies were CRED, Google, Intel and Wipro. Many of the remaining students go for higher studies. The placements are pretty much on a decent level and are getting better year after year. As it's a new IIT, it will require some time to get at par with the level of holder IITs in terms of placement and reputation.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure here is amazing. As it's a new IIT, it's hostels are far better than the holder IITs. The hostels are equipped with good Wi-Fi but sometimes there may be temporary network issues. The classrooms here are well furnished and equipped with all the necessities required. Mess food is above average, and there is also a night canteen that remains open till 3:00 am. Our campus's main motto is to make it a " Net Zero Campus," which will be self-sufficient for water and electricity and waste management for which it is termed "GREEN IIT.". The only thing missing on this campus is playgrounds, for which we need to go to the temporary campus, for which buses are scheduled by the institute. The sports that are available in the sports complex are badminton, squash, table tennis, and of course indoor games like carrom, ludo and chess.
Faculty: Teachers here are amazing and highly qualified, with many years of teaching experience in other IITs, and the curriculum here is relevant. But there is a strict attendance policy of 80% mandatory attendance; failure to achieve this results in a DX grade and the student has to repeat this course again. The level of exams here is on a bit tougher side, but can be handled if someone attends classes regularly and attentively.

The college provides excellent infrastructure and faculty.
Placements: Since the college is newly opened There are fewer internships and placements offered. Last year, nearly 50% of students placed in different companies like Google, TCS, etc. The highest package offered in electrical engineering is 54 LPA. The ECE branch was started this year.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was excellent. They give free Wi-Fi. Labs, libraries, and classrooms are excellent with smart instruments. We have an indoor facility with a gym, badminton court, squash court, and table tennis court. We have adjusted for the food here. It is not tasty.
Faculty: They provided us with excellent faculty. They are very helpful to us. Yes, this course curriculum is relevant. The difficulty of the semester exams depends upon the teacher of the subject. The teacher was directly involved with us in tutorial sessions to clear out doubts in the subject.
Other: My rank in advanced made me choose this course in this college. Our college management conducted so many events and fests on campus and outside campus also.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the college .
Placements: 80% The lowest is around 4-5 LPA, and the highest is around 9-10 LPA only. Mercedes-Benz, TATA, IBM 5% in tech companies, core companies don't usually give internships here; only tech companies come here in our college. Project engineer, Research and development.
Infrastructure: Facility and infrastructure at IIT Dharwad is average. Wi-Fi is not good here; labs and classrooms are nice, with an average library. Facilities at the hostel are good. The quality of food at the mess is the worst, but in the canteen, it is nice. Medical facilities are not too good, and sports and games here are not good at all; there are no proper grounds here.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is nice. The course curriculum is absolutely relevant. It makes us ready theory-wise, not industry-wise, properly. Semester exams are not too difficult; some questions are challenging. The passing percentage absolutely is 30-35 percent, but relatively, grading is at 15-20%.
Other: For the IIT tag, labs, and mechanical instruments experience, placements, and internship opportunities, more project-based learning. Some of the events like GC, Parsec (tech fest), AARAMBH (Bgmi), IDPL (cricket). Scholarships are given to students based on the given criterion every semester. Many clubs are here at IIT Dharwad (dance, music, all sports clubs, finance club, etc.).
