Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   How many students can do A.M.E. at Indira Institute of Aircraft Engineering?

A:

The Indira Institute of Aircraft Engineering (IIAE) is home to 1370 students pursuing various courses in aviation. Among the offerings are B.Sc. Aviation and two specialised tracks in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME): B1.1 + B.Sc. (Aviation) and B2 + B.Sc. (Aviation). Eligibility criteria for these courses include a minimum of 40% in 10+2 or a Diploma in Engineering.

The AME course fees range between INR 3 and 6 lakhs, while for NRI students, it's around USD 20,000 to 25,000. These costs cover a comprehensive curriculum geared towards developing expertise in aircraft maintenance. One of the institute's strengths lies in its affiliations with industry giants like GMR, Indamer, Go Air, and Air India, facilitating robust industry exposure and potential placement opportunities for students. These partnerships often lead to internships, practical training, and employment prospects post-graduation.

Regarding salary prospects, graduates typically land starting packages in the range of 1 to 2 Lacs per year with various airlines. While this might seem moderate at the onset, career progression and experience in the aviation sector often pave the way for higher remunerations and diverse career avenues. With a focus on hands-on learning, industry connections, and a curriculum designed to meet industry demands, IIAE provides a holistic platform for aspiring aviation professionals to kickstart their careers in this dynamic field.

Q:   What is the fee for A.M.E. at Indira Institute of Aircraft Engineering?

A:

The Indira Institute of Aircraft Engineering (IIAE) in Pune provides diverse Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) courses, catering to specific specializations. The fee structure varies based on the chosen courses

. For instance, AME-B2 (AVIONICS) costs Rs 5,00,000, while B.Sc. Aviation is priced at Rs 1,50,000. Combined programs like AME B1.1 + B.Sc. (Aviation) and AME B2 + B.Sc. (Aviation) are available at Rs 5,90,000 each, and others like B1.1 (Aeroplane Turbine-Mechanical) + B.Sc. (Aviation) and B2 (Avionics) + B.Sc. (Aviation) are at Rs 4,50,000 each.

It's essential to note that AME (CAR 147 B) MRO Practical Training, vital for some programs, incurs an additional cost of Rs 1,60,000, not included in the aforementioned fees. Prospective students must carefully consider these variations in fees and additional practical training costs. Understanding these expenses is crucial to making informed decisions aligned with one's academic and career goals.

Q:   Is A.M.E. at Indira Institute of Aircraft Engineering better than Avalon Academy, Pune?

A:

Determining if Indira Institute of Aircraft Engineering (IIAE) is definitively "better" than Avalon Academy for A.M.E. depends on your individual priorities and goals. Both have strong points, but their strengths and weaknesses differ. Here's a comparison to help you decide:

IIAE Strengths:

  • Reputation and Placements: IIAE enjoys a well-established reputation in the industry, with strong placements and alumni networks. It boasts a 98% placement rate in 2023, with top recruiters like Indigo, Emirates, and Air Costa.
  • Infrastructure: IIAE has excellent facilities, including modern workshops, labs, and training aircraft. This hands-on learning environment provides valuable experience.
  • DGCA Approval: IIAE's A.M.E. program is directly approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), ensuring high quality and industry recognition.

Avalon Academy Strengths:

  • Faculty and Individual Attention: Avalon Academy boasts experienced faculty and small class sizes, providing more personalized guidance and attention. This can be beneficial for students who prefer a close-knit learning environment.
  • Cost-effectiveness: Compared to IIAE, Avalon Academy generally has lower tuition fees, making it a more affordable option.
  • Focus on Specific Skills: Avalon Academy offers specialized training programs in areas like Flight Operations and Airport Management, which might appeal to students with specific career aspirations.

Considerations:

  • Specializations: Both offer B1.1 (Aircraft Maintenance) and B2 (Avionics) streams. Compare the curriculum and focus of each specialization before deciding.
  • Location: Consider your preferred location and proximity to potential employers. IIAE and Avalon Academy are both located in Pune, but the specific areas might differ.
  • Admission requirements: Check the eligibility criteria and entrance exams required for each institute.

Ultimately, the "better" option depends on your individual priorities. If you value reputation, placements, and a well-equipped learning environment, IIAE might be a good fit. If you prefer personalized attention, affordability, and specialized skills training, Avalon Academy could be a better choice.

It's recommended to research both institutes thoroughly, including visiting their websites, contacting admissions offices, and talking to current students or alumni. This will help you make an informed decision based on your specific needs and goals.

The cutoff marks for B.Sc at BMS College for Women exhibit variability, contingent upon the chosen specialization. The general cutoff spectrum spans from 70% to 90%, underlining the institution's commitment to selecting candidates who not only meet the basic eligibility standards but also demonstrate a commendable level of academic proficiency specific to their chosen field of study.

This college is the best to learn.
Placements: Placements in our college are very good. The college ensures that everyone gets a job. The college's admin department is really good and cooperative. The placement cell has excellent tie-ups with the recruiters. So the job is assured here. One can easily get a job with a salary of Rs. 10,000 per month and much more depending on their talents.
Infrastructure: There are many classrooms available here, and the campus is under CCTV surveillance. The college has a small garden situated at the entrance. It has parking space of its own. There is a projector in every classroom. Classrooms are equipped with air-conditioners. The college has Learjet 24J Aircraft.
Faculty: The course is of 2 years. The college will provide you with an A.M.E. certificate, but the certificate doesn't make you A.M.E. engineer. You have to clear the DGCA papers which are very tough. You need a total two years after clearance of A.M.E. from your college to become an A.M.E. engineer as 2 years of practical training is mandatory to become an A.M.E. engineer.

A short review on IIAE (AME) Pune.
Placements: The college does not provide the placements. You have to work hard to get a good job in a reputed organisation. Sometimes you have to work unpaid in an organisation to gain experience. Also, you will not get any support from college to find any job in any organisation.
Infrastructure: We have good infrastructure. There are 3-4 classrooms, separate labs for the Avionics systems. Library with various educational and aviation-related books is available in the college. Wi-Fi facility is not available for students. Canteen is not available on the campus. There is a restriction on using our mobile on the college campus.
Faculty: We have good teaching staff as compared to other AME colleges. They have good experience in the aviation field. There are some senior instructors, who have large airforce experience. Chief instructor and other instructors are always ready to help students.
Other: There will be one technical visit every year to the nearby aerodromes.
