A:

The B.Tech placements at Indore Institute of Science and Technology (IIST) are generally considered good, with placement rates typically exceeding 80% for most programs.

Strengths:

  • High Placement Rates: As mentioned,  most B.Tech programs at IIST achieve placement rates above 80%,  with some branches like CSE exceeding 90%. This indicates strong industry connections and employability potential for graduates.
  • Reputed Companies: IIST attracts several renowned companies for campus placements,  including IT giants like Infosys,  TCS,  Wipro,  Cognizant,  and Accenture,  along with core engineering firms like Bosch,  Tata Motors,  and Mahindra & Mahindra.
  • Average Salary Packages: While salary packages can vary depending on the company and branch,  the average package for B.Tech graduates at IIST typically ranges between 4.5 LPA and 5.5 LPA,  which is considered decent for fresh graduates in Indore.
  • Career Support Services: The institute provides career guidance and placement assistance to students through workshops,  mock interviews,  resume writing sessions,  and industry interaction events.

Potential Drawbacks:

  • Competition for Top Companies: Popular branches like CSE and ECE might see intense competition for placements with top companies,  requiring strong academic performance and technical skills to stand out.
  • Limited Diversity in Job Profiles: Although several companies visit the campus,  placement opportunities might be concentrated in the IT sector,  with fewer options in specific core engineering domains.
  • Salary Packages Compared to Top Colleges: While the average salary packages are satisfactory,  they might not be as high as those offered by premier engineering colleges across India.

The B.Tech placements at IIST are positive, offering decent job opportunities for graduates. However, it's essential to consider individual programme statistics, competition levels, and desired career paths to make a well-informed decision. Remember, placement success also depends on individual efforts, academic performance, and skill development beyond academics.

Our college has good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Placements for our seniors are not that good. Only one or two of them got the highest salary package. The highest salary package offered by Cisco is 24 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA. Internships are not provided by the institute.
Infrastructure: The quality of the hostel and canteen is very good. The campus is big and comfortable for us. There are multiple sports and games. In the library, most of the books are old. Wi-Fi is slow. The lab facilities are also good, and classrooms are big.
Faculty: There are some teachers who teach us very well. Some of them are not good. They are freshers. The attendance criteria is also important. Semester exams are not so difficult, but we have to focus on other skills.
Other: I want to become a software engineer, so I chose this course. The best thing is that there is a SIG at our college, so we learn extra programming skills through it. It helps us with placement sessions.

If we talk about studies, it’s the best, and the faculties are also very cooperative and helpful.
Placements: The average package is 3-4 LPA. The placement rate is not that bad; people get placed with good packages, and if you have skills, you’ll definitely get placed. Internships are also available, but only for students with skills. For a student who just has a high CGPA but no skills, opportunities may be limited.
Infrastructure: Our college has quite good infrastructure, with all the labs and Wi-Fi available, but it's just for work purposes, and not everyone can access it. We have two auditoriums and seminar halls, along with a great mess and canteen that are quite good.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and highly qualified; some of them are from IITs. They provide great knowledge in a very easy way. The college offers skill improvement groups (SIG), project work, and personality development programs (PDP) to help students become industry-ready and reduce nervousness during personal interviews.

Satisfied with the college and facilities.
Placements: Students are eligible for placements from their 7th semester. Many companies such as Wipro, Infosys, BYJU's, Capgemini, Cognizant and many more visited the campus and hired students from IIST. The highest package offered was 12 Lacs per annum, and the average package was 3 to 4 Lacs per annum. The college has a CDC (career development cell), and they provide training to students to be industry-ready.
Infrastructure: The campus is lush green, and it is well cleaned. The college has a big library with semester books. The classrooms are quite good and comfortable. The college infrastructure is well maintained, and there are 2 auditoriums in the college. Wi-Fi is available. The hostel has satisfactory food and facilities. There are various clubs in the college, like sports club, music club, AI club, aeromodelling club, dance club, photography club and many more. You can join any club according to your interest.
Faculty: The faculty-student ratio is 1:70. The teachers are well qualified and experienced, and some of them have done their PhDs. The college is affiliated with RGPV University. So, the course curriculum and syllabus structure are provided by RGPV. We have 2 semesters a year, and each semester, we have 2 MSTs (mid-semester tests). At the end of each semester, we have our end-semester examinations, which is quite easy if you have prepared enough for that.
Other: I chose B.Tech in information technology because it is considered to be a skill-oriented course in which we get the job based upon our skills. Depending upon the interest, one can hone their skills by learning new technologies. Every year, an annual festival called Dazzle is held on the IIST campus. The college organizes many events. Seniors are also helpful. Our DG sir also interacts with us for feedback and motivates us to do better in every aspect of our life.

Infrastructure: I have just visited campus at the time of admission the classes were well built and they have recently renovated canteen. The library has tons of books and they have a facility for E-library also and have a very large ground with many outdoor activities.
Faculty: Faculty members are very great especially one sir he is very kind and the college also took the initiative to run SIG's (on topics like C/C+, web development, Java, etc.). As of now, I haven't visited college I have only attended online classes so that's it teachers are very supportive.

Students also asked

Q:   Can I get admission in Indore Institute of Science and Technology for B.Tech with 60% in Class 12th?

A:

Getting admission into Indore Institute of Science and Technology (IIST) for B.Tech with a 60% score in Class 12th might be quite challenging, but not entirely impossible. Here's why:

Admission Requirements:

  • IIST primarily considers JEE Main scores for B.Tech admissions. While they don't officially release minimum Class 12th percentage requirements, a score of 60% might be perceived as borderline or insufficient for securing a seat, especially in popular branches like CSE or ECE.
  • The institute utilizes a dynamic cutoff system based on several factors,  including the number of applicants, seat availability, JEE Main scores across applicants, and reservation policies. These factors influence the actual cutoff percentages, which can vary year by year.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Q:   Does Indore Institute of Science and Technology accept JEE score?

A:

Yes, Indore Institute of Science and Technology accepts JEE scores for admission to its B.Tech program. The cutoff for JEE main 2023 for the general category is between 50013 and 654327 rank. The admission process is conducted in two stages. The initial step is the filtering of students based on the B.Tech eligibility criteria 2023.

Q:   Which is the top course of Indore Institute of Science and Technology?

A:

Indore Institute of Science and Technology (IIST) offers various courses in engineering and management. However, some of the popular courses offered by IIST are:
Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Chemical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Information Technology.
