An honest review about IEM

Placements: Talking about the placement scenario, it has been much to the satisfactory level throughout all the years since the inception of this college. In out batch, TCS was the largest recruiter, taking a total of 414 students in three different verticals namely EIS, IT and ITIS. Overall, talking about exclusively IEM students, nearly 100% placement record was achieved, with a few grabbing attractive PPOs through their internships. Besides TCS, mass recruiters and IT giants like Capgemini, Tech Mahindra...

Satisfied with the memories made in the college but dissatisfied with the college itself.

Placements: The placements for my batch were good and were done in an organised manner. A lot of reputed MNCs came in for the recruitment. 99% of the students were placed in my batch. The highest salary package went by something around 8 LPA by ARW and the lowest salary package went by around 2.9 LPA by Tech Mahindra. The companies visiting the campus were: TCS, Tech Mahindra, ARW, Ericsson, Capgemini, Abzooba and NRI Fintech. About 20% of the students got internships from a college source.

A good college for people looking for a secured job.

Placements: Placement record of the college is excellent. The average salary offered is 3.5 lakh. Placement percentage is around 99%. Companies visiting our college included NRI Fintech, Fusion Chart, TCS, CTS, Wipro, Infosys, Azooba, ARW, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra and many others offering the position of a software engineer. A group of some good students are sent to IITs for internship every year for some research papers.

First private engineering college in West Bengal with very good acadamic and placement record

Placements: Placements are really good. Fusion Charts, Infosys, CTS, Tech mahindra, Voltas, Blue Star, Aircon, Sevcon and Paharpur Cooling Tower are the companies till now that came for recruit. This is the 1st batch of mechanical. So, as for the scenario, placement is quiet good. For the next upcoming batches, I expect a very good placement session.

Good placement and the best private college in West Bengal.

Placements: For the first time this year, some companies came for recruiting electrical engineering students. Out of 65 students, only 23 students got placed in cognizant.

The college is situated in Salt Lake Sector V, Kolkata. Location wise, the college is absolutely fine. It is accessible from each and every area of Kolkata. Not a difficulty while accessing. The infrastructure is not so good in comparison to other premier institutions but there is very tight discipline. The fees is affordable and the college has a reputed name in Kolkata. Infrastructure of the college is not up to the mark and facilities provided by the college are not sufficient.

FACULTY- Most of the faculty members for the core branch subjects are very experienced and possess degrees from IIT's. All the faculties give attention to student’s doubts but are very strict at the same time. Lectures delivered are very good. DISCIPLINE -IEM is famous in the region for its strict rules and regulations. College uniform to worn for all the 4 years. You cannot be late for more than 5 minutes. No chance of bunking classes. And everyone has to attend the morning assembly. Placem...

It is definitely one of the best private engineering colleges in the state of West Bengal, with particular focus on the streams of ECE, CSE & IT. The faculty is pretty good, and the lab facilities are quite decent. The management courses (BBA & MBA) offered have also been rising steadily over the years in terms of popularity. The college has an exceptional record when it comes to placements for students. Several dream companies come for campusing every year, and some students get offers as high ...

It is a great experience to be here. You get to learn many things. The atmosphere is very nice and there is a lot of focus given on projects which helps you in making a good Engineer. Further it’s the best private college in the region and you don’t need to worry about your placement at all.

The institute doesn’t feel like a college. Faculty is good, infrastructure is poor and placements are average. Campus politics is absolutely nil, therefore no problem with respect to violence or tension within the institute. There is no hostel facility available therefore we can’t really experience the so-called campus life that everyone boasts about. Facilities like football field or a basketball field are lacking. Indoor facilities are starting to develop much due to the active initiative of t...

Institute of engineering and management is a nice college under West Bengal University of Technology where education is the first priority. Compared to other colleges it has a small campus which is expanding but in regards with educations it is ranked amongst the best colleges. Teachers are helpful and environment is good. Apart from studies there are several activities going on around the campus in which students can take part. Various companies visit the campus of our college during the placem...

IEM is a good school in matters of academics and placements. But it has its own share of problems. Since 2013, the intake of ECE has increased. Due to lack of infrastructure the labs are full of students. Doing practical’s have become difficult. The environment here is kind of depressing as you are kept under strict discipline which is actually unusual for college students. So college life is quite dull. The bright side is placements. Though we have ECE core companies visiting us, only 10% of t...

I completed my grads from IEM in CS and we had good, renowned and dedicated faculty. The whole curriculum is designed to provide flexibility to students to choose among interdisciplinary subjects as per one’s personal interests and choices. The campus is in the IT hub of the city so there are many companies which come for placements in the college. The campus provides support for extra and co-curricular activities also. Overall it’s a good experience to be one of the best engineering colleges of...

The college sits in the middle of Kolkata’s IT hub, sector 5, salt lake. It is relatively new in the space of providing professional courses. And this has worked to its advantage. It boasts of faculty who are relatively experienced in both corporate and educational fields. The academic curriculum is holistic and proved to be a very enriching experience for me.

Well if you are looking for some college and canteen groups this is definitely the wrong place. Discipline is the main focus of the college. But yes there are college fests and lot of fun. The best part comes when talking about placements. Indeed it is 100% moreover last year the highest pay package offered was 15.5Lakhs per annum (higher than lots of NITs). However the average lies between 3-4 L ac per annum. The education system and quality of teaching is however just up to the mark.

Well to say about the college. You won’t strive for a job. You will get one at least. Bad is that you will be forced to be disciplined. Any in disciplinary act will be punished. Parents will be called up to meet the faculty member and for a college guy or girl parents going college to talk about his/her ward is a bit awkward. Then you have to wear uniforms every day. You need to do go to assembly every day. If you get late you are not allowed to enter college premise. It has no big campus like o...

You will miss your college life here as it is just like a school. But the campus is good, so are labs but attendance is mandatory and the timings and treatment towards students is not so good. Some teachers are quite good while others are average. But due to its brand name, it is popular. The college lacks facilities like canteen and sports ground and the sports facilities are not good either. But the college is trying to improve on such matters.
