Institute of Environment Education and Research (BVIEER) was established in 1994 in Pune, Maharashtra. BVIEER offers PG and PhD courses in Environment Education. It is a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University). To instill pro-environmental attitude among students, the Institute organises periodic field visits to natural resource areas such as National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries. It has implemented various programs with strategies for Protected Area Management.
The Institute has been appointed as the Resource Agency for Maharashtra for the National Green Corps Program of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India since 2002. It reaches out to 8,850 schools across the state.
BVIEER Highlights
