Review of JIS College of Engineering.

Placements: The placements are good. Faculty members are very supportive as they not only support us but also help us to find off-campus placements. Nearly about 90% of students got placed at that time. Good companies had come, and they offered good packages. The top recruiting companies are CTS, Wipro etc. The college had also organized different internships for students, and they had also arranged different sessions like soft skill training, giving opportunities to attend different seminars and conference...

I am satisfied with our faculty members but not with the college system.

Placements: Around 23% of the students get placed with an average salary package of 2.5 LPA. The highest salary package was offered by Jaro group, but none of our students got selected. The lowest salary offered was Rs. 78,000 per month. But college is working hard for the placements, hope that the percentage may increase.

None of the companies visits the college for placements.

Placements: Almost 50% of the students got placed from our college. The lowest salary package offered was 1.80 LPA. The highest salary package offered was 6 LPA. Top roles offered are programmer analyst and trainee. Top recruiting companies are Cognizant, Capgemini, ITC, and IBS. None of the students got an internship at our college.

Join JISCE if you have no other option. It is not worth your parents money and your future.

Placements: The placements in civil engineering or for that matter in any of the core branches is next to negligible. No core companies visited the college for placements. There were a couple of pool campus placements at one of the other branches of the college. Out of the approximate 120-130 students in the department, roughly 15-20 students got placed in a couple of companies. The rest of the students had to layout on their path. The internship was another area of concern as reputed companies don't acknow...

Don't get an admission in this college, you will not learn anything.

Placements: Don't judge the college by its construction, it is completely empty in other aspects. On an average 20-30 students out of 700-800 students are hired every year. So now it is up to you whether you want to take admission or not. The training and placement department is one of the worst departments. They just want rob people by promising about placements.

Disappointed with this college, only the campus is good and nothing else.

Placements: The placements in the college are not good. One of my seniors got placed in Wipro with a package of 2 lakhs per annum. The highest package offered in the college is 5 LPA.

No value for money, bad infrastructure and campus life.

Placements: 3-4 core companies came to the college, all other companies were IT related. They provided jobs in Bangalore, Noida and only for 8k-10k per month salary was offered. The college provides some basic guidance and training for placement interviews and general aptitude, but to select students. They provide no facility for the internship. It's all up to the student.

The pros and cons of JIS.

Placements: The placement of mechanical department is not as good as compared to departments such as computer science and IT which have good placements, because there are not many mechanical engineering based companies in Kolkata. So the recruitment is very less but service-based companies like TCS recruit us in large numbers.

Not good enough for bright student, poor faculty and poor education system. Very bad condition of laboratories. Quality of placement is not good enough. Overall, it is not a good college. But the building of the campus is very impressive. So not choosing this college will be a great idea. Still if you don't get admission in any college, then try it.

I joined JIS college of engineering in 2009.My one friend was pursuing B.Tech from same college on that time, he recommended me because my AIEEE was not good. So I applied through WBJEE. Faculty of this college is good but placement is very bad. After joining the college in Computer science branch my friend said in this college Computer faculty is very good. But placement is not good. Before 2008 placement was also good but day by day placement is going worse. So I will commend to don't join thi...

After 6 months, I realized that significant amount of money which I've spent on the college had totally went in vain because it was not that kind of institution in which I wanted to study. I had selected this college after seeing its placement records on its website but the information was totally wrong. 2008 was the last year when good placement was held at this college. Since 2008 had a decent placement record that is why I have decided to study there but it was one of the worst decision of my...

It was used to be a college under West Bengal University of Technology. Now, it has become a deemed university. Infrastructure is good but labs are not having good facility. Faculty members are of less than average quality. Placements are not up to the mark. People don't take admission in this college. So, most of the seats remain vacant, which are then filled through management quotas. Fest of the college is for the management staffs as all the money given by us for the fest go in the pockets o...

At that time no such infrastructure has been provided to the students. Also hostel facility was not available. Faculty were not that standard. Also mechanical workshop was very poor. All equipments were not available in the laboratories. Some faculties were very good and they look after the students like guardian. College canteen was very poor.Distance between hostel and college was 5 km.

Don't take admission into the JIS Group.

Placements: Mindtree employs a full-stack developer and software engineer. And other students don't get jobs in campus placement. Very few companies came and didn't take many students. And they asked us to go 50 km ahead of our college for placement in the morning.

In this college, faculty members are the best but not management.

Placements: The college has good placements. The highest salary package offered is 7 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. Around 50-6-% of students got internships from this course. TCS, Capgemini, and many more companies visit our campus to recruit students.

It only cares for money.

Placements: Our college provides about 0-1% of placements. The salary package is not provided for students. You get a free internship here. Top recruiting companies do not visit our college for placements. Students did not get a placement here. It is the worst.

I suggest others not to opt for this college.

Placements: It is the worst engineering college. Our college only wants more money from us. Due to pandemic, many parents have lost their job. Other institutions like AOT has reduced some tuition fees and exam fees. I suggest everyone not to take admission here. They are totally fraud. Our college authorities force students to do good reviews. Accounts and high authorities of JISCE are ruthless as they make plans only to make money from you but not for your better placements.
