Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Is BBM/BMS at Keshav Mahavidyalaya worth the investment?

A:
{Source: BBM/BMS students & alumni}

BBM/BMS at Keshav Mahavidyalaya: Worth the Investment?

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary:

* Placement: Placements are decent, with an average salary package of INR4-5 LPA. Top recruiters include startups and small companies, with occasional visits from bigger names like D.E. Shaw, Wipro, and Deloitte. Around 20% of students get placed, with some receiving higher offers (up to INR12 lakh).
* Course Curriculum: The course is considered relevant, with a focus on practical exposure. While the curriculum may seem outdated, it's still effective in preparing students for the industry.
* Teaching Staff: Faculty members are generally helpful, knowledgeable, and well-qualified. Some teachers excel in their roles, while others might require improvement.
* Infrastructure: Facilities are average, with limited resources (e.g., poor lighting in classrooms). However, there's a dedicated BMS lab, and the library is relatively good.
* Hostel: Unfortunately, there's no hostel facility for male students.
* Internship Cell: The internship cell is somewhat inactive, requiring students to seek opportunities independently.
* Student Life: Student life is average, with limited extracurricular activities and fewer cultural events compared to other colleges.

Considering these factors, whether BBM/BMS at Keshav Mahavidyalaya is "worth the investment" largely depends on individual expectations and priorities.

* For those seeking strong connections and networking opportunities within the industry, this college might offer adequate prospects.
* Those looking for cutting-edge infrastructure and modern amenities might find the facilities underwhelming.
* Students who value academic rigor and theoretical foundations might appreciate the emphasis on practical exposure in the course curriculum.

Ultimately, potential students should weigh these pros and cons carefully before deciding whether this college aligns with their goals and preferences.

Keshav Mahavidyalaya (DU) .
Placements: There is no placement after Electronics Hons. (3 Years UG course). Non-tech Internship companies come it's all on students whether they want to do that not. There is no any direct placement after this course. Placements in this department is done after Post Graduation in some designing labs. Some of the companies are NXP, MosChip, etc.
Infrastructure: There is only a girl hostel in the campus but there is no any hostel facility available for boys. Canteen area is average and canteen needs to be upgraded as it seems dark in canteen when you will enter there. There should be a separate counter for billing and food items. Classrooms are very good all equipped with projectors. Library of the college is also in a large are as it also provides a reading hall but numbers of books are less.
Faculty: Professors are very helpful and always assist in our work. Although there are very number of faculty members in Electronics Department but are very cooperative and helpful. As in India, there is no any semiconductor fabrication lab so one can't get into semiconductor industry just after pursuing 3 years UG course.
Other: The subjects which are in 3 years UG course are outdated. As this is a subject related to technical world so subject should also be related to newer technologies and devices. As I joined this college during Covid-19 pandemic so there was no any tech fest during online classes but it happened in my last which was too much amusing. Although it is not a very popular college in DU but cultural fest was very fine and enjoyable.

Review of Keshav Mahavidyalaya, University of Delhi.
Placements: There are no placements in DU in this course, but if you come to this college, you will get a good education. In our senior batch, no one got placed. Some of them are working as SDE, and they got placed off campus. There are some internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. Our campus is lush green. There are 6 lecture halls and sufficient classrooms. There are 2 labs in our course, a library with a lot of books and a reading room. There is only one girls' hostel, and the mess food is not too good. There is a small canteen with a capacity of 60-80 people. Sports and games are active.
Faculty: We have very good and knowledgeable teachers. Their teaching quality is good, and some teachers studied at foreign universities. This course is not so easy, and you have to study well. Teachers teach in a beautiful manner, so you can learn things easily. You should do practicals by yourself.

This college is worth the visit.
Placements: Not many placements are there. Further details can be seen on the college website. As I am doing electronics, there are not many opportunities for salary packages. Seniors help us a lot but due to online sessions, we are not prepared well enough for the exams.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are all right but other facilities like labs and library are below average. There is only a girls hostel about which I don't know much. Other facilities like canteen and sports room are not very good either.
Faculty: Faculty members are quite good, very helpful and decent. Our course is full of practical classes, so we get quite an experience. Exams are very difficult from my point of view. All I can say is that faculty is much more deserving. Lab assistants are also helpful.
Other: The food and water facilities are very bad. Sports facilities can also be improved.

My overall experience till now is good.
Placements: Placement cell of our college is not good. Our seniors did not get placements from the placement cell. In case they provide placements, those are not much effective. You can get good internship opportunities along with your college study and learn a lot.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is average. Sometimes it is not available even in the labs. Laptops should be upgraded because they hang while working on them. Labs are average. You will find all the instruments in them and there is no shortage of instruments. You can gain better knowledge but you have to compromise with the classrooms’ infra. I have gained a lot of knowledge and good experience.
Faculty: Faculty is well experienced and supportive in nature. They clear our doubts whenever we need them. They provide a lot knowledge irrespective of their curriculum. All the teachers are well-qualified and even gold medalist in their field.
Other: Infra is average.

I am absolutely satisfied because of placements.
Placements: Almost 65% of students are placed in various fields like robotics, embedded systems, programming, etc. The highest salary package offered is 10 LPA to 20 LPA, the average is 6 LPA to 10 LPA, and the lowest is 2 LPA to 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies for electronics are Videocon, LG, Samsung, and Bharat Electronics and Communication. Students are trying to reach foreign countries with their skills. Almost 55% of students get internships at companies like Green Line World and Identium Tech Solutions. Our course offers roles such as R&D, software engineer, software analyst, electronic design engineer, desktop support engineer, etc. Some students also initiate self-employment.
Infrastructure: Our college has average facilities. Wi-Fi does not work properly. It is improving. The environment is good for labs. Laptops and all instruments are available. The facilities for drinking water are not good. The quality of the food in the canteen and medical facilities are not good. Sports are also not available. Students are interested in playing but don't get a chance.
Faculty: Teachers are always ready to help, whether it is online or offline. They have a good method of teaching. They are highly qualified and polite. Lab sessions are conducted regularly. Lab assistants also help students perform practicals. This course has too much demand, which helps students work on the basis of their skills. Electrical and electronic engineers work at the forefront of practical technology, improving the devices and systems we use every day. The level of the exams is average. All the questions come from the syllabus. Teachers prepare us well. They also make us practice for practical exams. Almost 85% of students pass the examinations.
Other: I chose this course because I like electronics and I am good at it. It is easy to explain and it is a practical-based course. I want this course to have more visual representation and more group activities. Events are good. Very few students also get the benefit of a scholarship.
