There are no fixed CUET passing marks, however, a minimum of 600 marks is considered a good score in CUET to qualify for the admission process. Apart from the class 12th board examination, candidates must score well in CUET exam to get admission into top colleges of India. The role of National Testing Agency (NTA) ends with the declaration of CUET 2024 results. Hence, the CUET passing marks are not decided by NTA. The CUET passing marks are dynamic and are influenced by the difficulty level of the question paper, the university/college applied for a course, and overall performance of the candidate.
Q: How do I select the domain subjects for CUET UG?
Before selecting the test or domain subjects, candidates are advised to visit the official website of university/organaisation they wish to apply for. Candidates must check the courses offered and eligibility test that they should appear in for admission to desired course. The choice of language/domain subject and General test will depend upon the course and university. Candidates will be able to opt for one or more tests as per the requirement of the course and university fro the following sections:

Q: Can I opt for several subjects in section II of CUET to apply for various courses?
Yes, an CUET applicant can opt for one or more combinations of the following:
- Section I: Language Test
- Section II: Domain subject test
- Section III: General Aptitude Test
Candidates will be able to opt up to a maximum of five subjects in order to apply to different applicable courses that require these subjects for being eligible for admissions. Candidates can choose subjects irrresptive of subjects studied in 12th grade under their eligibility conditions for a particular programme.
Q: Does CUET require OBC certificate?
Yes, OBC candidates applying for CUET must upload the OBC-NCL certificate in online CUET application form. The OBC-NCL certificate must be issued in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If candidate fail to upload the OBC-NCL certificate (issued on or after 01 April, 2024) at the time of CUET 2025 registration, then in such case they will have to upload a declaration in lieu of OBC-NCl certificate to that effect.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by Government of India. However, in the case of central universities admission, the reservation criteria of the respective university shall be applicable.

National Testing Agency declared the CUET UG result 2024 at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/. How are CUET Qualifying Marks Determined?
CUET qualifying marks or CUET cut-off is determined by participating universities. Soon after the declaration of results, CUET colleges release the course-wise CUET cutoff or merit list to shortlist candidates based on the score or percentile obtained. For instance, the University of Delhi releases the merit list, BHU releases the course-wise CUET cut off and so forth. Some of the factors that determine the CUET cut off or CUET qualifying marks are:
- Course and Programme: The competition level across CUET courses and universities varies. The cut off can be higher if the seats are less and number of applicants is more.
- Difficulty level of the question paper: CUET cut off is also determined based on the difficulty level of the question paper. To balance the difficulty level across various slots and create fairness CUET normalization process is applied.
- Reservation: If the candidate belongs to a reserved category such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or OBC, the cut off will vary. Cut off for reserved categories are lesser than General category cut off.
