B.Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering - Batch of 2016

The worst Management and Faculty.
Placements: Placements were very poor, only few companies came to hire for Call Centre and Tech Support. The Dept. Of Training and Placement is of no use. Also if you get selected in any company College will charge 3 months salary in advance and then only will hand over the offer letter. I myself had to pay 40k just to get my completion certificate. Around 10% of students from CSE and etc. Dept. Will be placed in some Call Centre. No prominent company visits and most of the companies are FAKE. They will hire and never give offer letter. The highest package offered was 2.4lpa in 2016 which the college boasts of 6lpa (fake). No internships programme from the college, even the projects are fake. Yes there is a useless placement cell whose job is just to extract money from students in name of fake placements.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very poor, Labs don't have proper equipment, library has few books, no medical facility inside college campus. The hostel room is very small and 3 students has to live in it. Inconsistent Wi-Fi. While admission management promises for 2 beds in a room but after admission they will force 3students in a room. No caretaker, the waste is dump in hostels backyard and burnt. The hostel food ***, even after eating hostel's chicken you will vomit. The Hostel food actually ***. The worst food. Illness and weakness are must if anyone stays in hostel. I faced many issues during my tenure, got typhoid twice and urine infection once. Washrooms will never be cleaned unless you shout on management.
Faculty: The teachers are their past students who have little or zero knowledge of the subject. Anyone will teach anything. Few knowledgeable teachers, who will just come and go. No industry exposure, poor quality of teaching. The teachers can't even talk in English. Even the Holds will talk in Hindi or Odiya. I had to do programming course from an outside institute. The college will placement training but that is also of no news. As the teachers are their jobless past students.
Other: 1 annual function called UTOPIA. In which all students will drink and shout.

This is not an engineering college.
Placements: There are no placements from this college. This college says that there are 100% placements from my college, but here in this college, only teachers get placed. There is 0% placement. 30% study environment is present due to some good faculty members. Management of this college is too bad. Labs are too outdated.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. There is Wi-Fi facility. Labs are outdated. Classrooms are too old, but some classes are good. There is a small library also. No medical facility is present, but one ambulance is always available. Coming to sports, jo khelna hei khelo, but apna paisa laga ke khelo. The food quality is too bad. I would rate food: 2/10, hostel room: 6/10, labs: 3/10, class: 5/10.
Faculty: The faculty are good and knowledgeable, but they are too arrogant, and they don't even know how to treat engineers. Some faculty members are helpful. The teaching quality is good. Simple teaching methods are used. The student to faculty ratio is 60:1. There are no industrial visits. B.Tech course from this college is not useful.
Other: There are scholarships and events. Fests are conducted. The campus crowd is too much. There is nice connectivity. Extracurricular activities are not present.

KIST. A perfect place for studying BTech.
Placements: A good placement support was given to students and about 60% candidates were placed in this batch. Candidates were mostly placed in the IT sector and the telecom sector along with a few electrical and mechanical. More than 10 companies came for placements and out of those, a few came to be fake but those which were real had taken candidates for placements.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure wise, its one of the best colleges in Bhubaneswar. They have a good classroom for studies, full AC labs, Wi-Fi enabled campus, WiFi library and much more. Maintenance is simply perfect. Again, hostel facilities are very good along with the meals provided in the hostel. They have a very good sports culture inside the campus and outside it. Every time, a medical van is ready for any type of medical emergencies. It's the perfect campus for study.
Faculty: The course is totally decided by BPUT. In the meanwhile, the syllabus is good but not so practical oriented. BPUT has not fixed a proper syllabus. But faculty members of KIST are really good. All the faculty members are highly qualified with good experience in teaching. They have been hired as per govt norms. Most likely, faculty members are good but because of BPUT, the syllabus is not good.

Terrible in placements, although, considerable in terms of infrastructure and knowledge to learn.
Placements: The college hardly has any placements. Our batch had 1 or 2 placements which were in a BPO and rest were fake. I myself was placed in a fake company through my college campus for which I waited for 6 long months and at last, it proved to be fake. I would suggest people do B.Tech here just for a certificate and never expect proper placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is considerably good here. Optimum classes and labs are there, although many labs machines are not in proper working condition. It has a 6 acres of land, own hostel and satisfactory grounds for playing. Infrastructure wise, it provides proper facilities for hostels and other aspects.
Faculty: It has a ratio of 4:10 senior to fresher faculty members. The students passing out as B.Tech graduates are appointed as teachers, so you can expect their qualification and knowledge which they can share. The faculty used to teach manually through the white boards. Electronic i.e. projector mode of teaching is still not available in the college. Students to faculty ratio is 60:1. Talking of industry exposure, that's laughable. I faced a scenario where the principal did not allow me to go for RSP industrial training. I was into AE&I and in India, the scope for electronics is very less or null. Hence I had to switch to IT sector (as everyone knows IT has a huge scope), take courses and get my first job.
Other: I would suggest students to go for colleges like Silicon, CV Raman, GITA, GITM, OEC, ABIT and not spend such amount on B.Tech in colleges like mine. As students take admission for placements and if that is not provided, what's the use of such expensive degree certificate?

Other: I would suggest every admission seeker,if u want to take admission in engg clges of Bhubaneswar then plz at least eliminate this college..Not a single fucking thing is good about this clg..ppl in management are dickheads..They are biggest asshole I have ever seen in my life..I remember my clg just coz of my friends and few loving teachers who are no more associated wid clg. COLLEGE DIRECTOR IS CRIMINAL,he was in jail since I was in 3rd year and I have no idea whether he is in or out...
