A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on reviews from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

Pros:
* Excellent faculty with deep knowledge in their subjects
* Good infrastructure, including modern laboratories, libraries, and classrooms
* Opportunities for self-study and self-learning
* Affiliation with Calcutta University (CU)
* Campus life is relatively calm and peaceful
* Access to scholarships and financial aid for meritorious students

Cons:
* No placements are guaranteed for the B.Sc. honours course
* Limited career prospects immediately after graduation
* Many students pursue higher studies instead of opting for employment
* Infrastructure issues, such as poorly maintained washrooms

Good faculty and infrastructure, and one of the best colleges in Kolkata.
Placements: This is a college for general subject-oriented studies, so they don't have placements as much. But they tried to manage companies to come. Maximum students of this institution want to study more. So they attend many exams like IIT, JAM, GATE, NET, CUET and many more. After clearing this type of exam, they get a chance to study in IITs, NITs, IISERs and many well-known universities.
Infrastructure: Every classroom has multiple fans, lights, ACs, and projectors. There are separate computer labs in every department. Science labs are pretty good. Every classroom has Wi-Fi routers. Canteen food is budget-friendly and also tasty. There are medical rooms, counseling rooms, game rooms, gyms and many other facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They always supported us whenever we needed them, both mentally and academically. Semester exams are really tough; you need to be focused from day one. Although a single paper can't decide the future, you have to study hard for average to good marks.

Everything was good at the college except placements.
Placements: There were not good placements for our course in this college. Only around 10% of students get placements at our college. Some regional companies visit our college for the placements. Around 40% of students get internships in some Pharma companies at our college.
Infrastructure: College has good infrastructure overall. The college provides high-quality facilities. Our course does not require more facilities, but management provides all the required facilities to the students. Library facilities are available for the college students so that they can get books at a minimal cost.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college were good enough. Teachers were giving their best for the students. Teachers were qualified and knowledgeable about our course. Also, the course curriculum of our college was relevant, and it was making students industry-ready. Exams were not very hard or very easy to pass.

A very good choice for Geography.
Placements: There is no placement available in our college. Although there is a placement cell and career counseling cell, it can mostly refer you to any higher education study college, but no placement is available for any course, especially not mine. There are seminars and lectures held, where you might be able to make connections if you're too active.
Infrastructure: The college is pretty good for a government college and is fairly maintained. The Zoology department is fully air-conditioned, and some other departments like Economics, Chemistry, and Geography Computer Lab have AC. There are three buildings: Main, RC, and Merged Scheme. Apart from that, there is also a cottage area for the Urdu, Bengali, Persian, and Sanskrit departments. The old building is also quite peaceful. Wi-Fi is not available. Labs are available for all courses and are satisfactory. The library is good, although not all books are available for my course (Geography). The Geography department has decent classrooms, and the auditorium is also good. Although I am not a resident of the hostel, the hostel is decent, and the food is like every hostel food—normal, nothing special. We have four canteens, all cheap and affordable, and we also have a Nescafe stall, which is overpriced. Sports events are held annually.
Faculty: The teachers in my department are quite knowledgeable, and all of them are highly qualified. The teaching quality varies from professor to professor, but yes, it is good. The course is somewhat relevant. The semester exams are under Calcutta University and have nothing to do with this college, and yes, the pass percentage is pretty high with 1-2 suppliments in a class of 29.
Other: Lady Brabourne College is reputed for having one of the best Geography departments in Kolkata, so I chose this college. The only thing that needs improvement is the washroom and drinking water facilities. The washroom is unbearable and really stinks, while the Aqua Guard is provided but water is not available. An annual program is held, reunions are held, and also the annual fest Kaleidoscope is held. Scholarships are also provided by the college for those who are meritorious and low in income. The campus surrounding is okay.

Dissatisfied, please choose some better college.
Placements: No placements are available in the college for this course. This college is only for degree earning, no future for placement. Rely on MUN for recognition; never expect any opportunity from the college. It is you come, study, score, take the degree, and leave straight away.
Infrastructure: Labs, e-library, modern classrooms, projectors, computers, common room, and gym are available. Hostel food is below average but gut-friendly. Canteen foods are not good to eat. Hostel environment is peaceful with no ragging, and food from outside is not available on the hostel campus.
Faculty: Professors are average; they will help but may insult. Attendance is compulsory. Semester exams are not easy to crack. There is a focus on studying; only 40% is the pass percentage. Students are not friendly, neither are the teachers. Simply focus on your goal to avoid friendships; that's the main thing.

Our college has good teachers, skill-enhancing opportunities, and a good campus.
Placements: It is an excellent college. There is a placement cell. Our college does not provide good placements after an undergraduate course. There are numerous seminars and workshops held throughout the year featuring prominent individuals.
Infrastructure: Our college provides good infrastructure. A library is available. Labs are well-equipped, especially the microbiology lab. There is a main lab, an additional lab, and two very well-equipped research labs. Regular presentations, competitions, and seminars are conducted by both alumni and other prominent individuals. There are separate hostels for UG and PG students. It is just adjacent to the college, so it is very easy to commute. In the first year of the undergraduate program, students are assigned to dormitories with 10 students. In the second year, they get double occupancy rooms. If you're among the top 10 ranks in the hostel during the third year, you'll be assigned a single room. A hearty breakfast is provided, including dhal and a side dish. In the evening, there are snacks and tea, and for dinner, there is another meal available. The hostel fee is affordable. Outings are permitted on Thursdays and Sundays until 8 p.m. and on other days until 6 p.m. If it's a holiday, you need to get permission from your department for an outing.
Faculty: Our teachers are excellent and knowledgeable. They provide such handy notes and PowerPoints that you do not require tuition. While it might differ across departments, I can personally confirm the excellence of the microbiology department at LBC. Its alumni have secured placements in diverse areas such as John Hopkins University, IISC Bangalore, GIM Goa, etc. The college offers numerous chances to improve different skills, including computer certification programs, multimedia and animation through Webel, and a Spanish language course.
Other: There are many clubs for dance, painting, poetry, singing, etc. There are various entertainment programs held at the hostel. The Saraswati Puja held in the hostel is a grand celebration.

Review of Lady Brabourne College.
Placements: We don't get placements from B.Sc. Honours course. As this is a purely Physics-based course. You can get placements if you get a technical degree from other colleges. You can study Masters from here or other colleges. There are so many options available. But only B.Sc. Honours will not get you placed.
Infrastructure: As Lady Brabourne College is a DST-star college, the infrastructure and facilities are greater than most. The lab equipment is modern and up-to-date. There are Wi-Fi available. We have AC and non-AC classrooms. The library is a good source of books for your course. There are 3 canteens here. The food available is great. Only the washrooms are not that great; they are smelly and dirty. Otherwise, this college is very good overall.
Faculty: The teachers here are greatly qualified, and they show the utmost interest in our exam preparation. They are very helpful and overall a great source of knowledge. The semester exam level is above average. Almost 17 to 18 students per 21 students pass each semester.
Other: The campus life is not that great if you look for lively and fun college life. The extracurricular events are not that much available like other colleges. Education-wise, this college is good.
