A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Here's what we found:

* Placement: Placements are not impressive, especially for students from departments other than B.Tech CSE. Few students get placed, and even those with good grades may struggle to find jobs.

The college infrastructure is good, the staff is very helpful, Wi-Fi hostel is not good.
Placements: Above 70 percent of students were placed in my course. The highest package was 11 LPA. Whereas the lowest package was 1.5 LPA however 5 LPA is the average package offered in my course. Top companies like TCS, and Wipro approached us. About 50 percent of students got internships from my course and were mostly interned in Solitaire Infosys. Software engineering, software analytics.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi quality is not that good. However, the laboratory is above average, the classrooms are good, and the library is very nice and fully air-conditioned. The quality of food is average, and sports activities are good. Security services on campus are great and overall college is above average.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and very helpful. Yes, this course is curriculum relevant. It helps in making students ready for industries. Examinations are not that hard for those who prepare well enough. Nearly 33% are required for passing the semester.

Overall, it is a good college.
Placements: Placements are good here. If you want to get admission in Punjab, then opt for our college. Otherwise, I suggest you to opt for other colleges. But one problem is good companies don't visit this college for placements and starting salary packages offered are also very low. The main problem is here the placement cell.
Infrastructure: Our college has a good infrastructure, and the hostel fee is very low compared to other colleges. Wi-Fi facility is good if none of the students hacks or every day the speed of the Wi-Fi gets weak due to hacking. The library is good and spacious, but the problem is it is not open for 24 hours. It is available only during college hours, and after 5:00 pm, it will be closed.
Faculty: Faculty members in our course are very supportive, and every teacher is qualified and knowledgeable. In our course, there are very less students, i.e., only 25 students so that teachers can clear doubts easily. But the main problem is the syllabus is almost 12 years old and is not updated.
Other: In this college, you can explore yourself and develop your skills.

Good infrastructure and facilities with average packages.
Placements: Placements are not that good at our college. Almost 30% of students got placed this year in my course. The highest package was 10 LPA, the medium was 4 LPA, and the lowest was around 1.5 LPA. Recruiting companies were Thinknext, Infotech, Infosys, etc., which provided mass recruitment. No on-campus internship is available here; students join different internships by searching off-campus. Many students sit for IELTS and move to foreign countries. A number of students went to Canada after taking this exam.
Infrastructure: I somehow like the infrastructure of this college; it's pretty good among the third-tier colleges. It has Wi-Fi in the library, labs and even the hostel. The IT department is so good here; we have a disciplined and supportive HOD who helps with our placements, internships and academics. I have to say the hostel and mess facilities are very good here. The quality of the food is superb and healthy but it is a bit oily. Medical facilities are also good; they will always be available in any emergency. Sports facilities are above average; anyone can play the games they like. We have a variety of game facilities here.
Faculty: Teachers and faculty members are Ph.D. holders and have a good knowledge of curriculum. Some teachers might have good knowledge of the subject but have low delivery quality; others are nice. This course is very relevant and will make students industry-ready in different IT sector companies through its projects and training. Semesters aren't that difficult and can be passed with good CGPA with being little bit serious in studies, PTU provides key notes to help the students but it does a bit hard checking. The passing percentage is 40% or above.
Other: I chose this course because I have a pretty strong interest in coding and software technologies. The best thing about this course is that students are free to invest their time in any internship or project without worrying about attendance criteria, as our HOD is very supportive and helps students so much. But in other courses, 75% attendance is needed. Students get scholarships on the basis of their marks during admission. Fest, events, and extracurricular activities are okay. Overall, it is a good college if anyone is looking for a third-tier college (and doesn't have any chance in good colleges), provided he/she is a self-made and hardworking student.

I am dissatisfied because of the placements of the year 2019.
Placements: Placements in our college are so bad. None of the students got placed from the 2019 batch. Students apply and try for the placements outside the campus. Our college does not provide an internship at our time. Our college does not provide training for placements.
Infrastructure: The campus is quite average. The campus is spread over 5 acres, which includes two-tower building, two hostels, two playgrounds, cafe and stationery. Food served in the hostel mess was not good. Our college provides three air-conditioned computer labs. There is one library which contains many books of study.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were cooperative. They always try to resolve the student's confusion about particular subjects and topics. Sometimes some teachers do not reply in a good tone. Some teachers are also doing partiality among the Punjab students and the other state students, which is not good for the student's career. They are good and helpful.
Other: As a student, I think that to study in this college does not give you the value for money. The campus crowd is not good. Students who study here are not knowledgeable and kind.

If you have financial problem or want a degree from Govt Engineering college, then come here.
Placements: 20% students got placed in campus placement. Most of the seniors are trying for off-campus placement. No big MNC companies come here. Companies like Infosys, TCS, and Infotech come here. Also, a huge number of students are trying to clear exams like GATE, CAT, and IELTS for higher studies. Recently, the highest package is 14 LPA and the lowest is 1.2 LPA.
Infrastructure: The labs are quite neat and clean. Also, the library is nice. We have plenty of books there. So we don't need to buy extra books. There is air conditioning in both labs and libraries .Class rooms are non-ac, but clean. Hostel life is total fun. No raging and drug culture here. The whole hostel is covered in WiFi. We get vegetarian foods here and the quality of the foods is also great.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good.We don't have that much of pressure. All the teachers are very friendly and helpful. My course Btech in IT is quite curriculum-relevant; I learnt a lot here. Semester exam is unpredictable; the results are in hand of IKGPTU (University); sometimes it felt like getting lesser marks.
Other: Actually, I am passionate about information technology, so I took this course. But at last, I want to say that the college is quite boring. Nothing much to do here. No place to visit nearby. Don't have any fest. Clubs are not that active . We have sports here also but not that much competitive and once you have a backlog, your scholarship is gone until you clear it.
