It is a great and affordable college.

Faculty: Faculty members are probably the best among the medical colleges in this state. They are very helpful in clearing our doubts. During clinical postings, they provide an overview of the case and the relevant history before moving on to the diagnosis and management section.

It is the best college in West Bengal.

Faculty: Teachers here are extremely helpful, qualified, and have a strong-hold on their respective subjects. They ensure that students can understand the concepts and they also organize small group discussions. MBBS course is a professional course and besides theory students also get exposure to the clinical part ensuring that students become skillful doctors. Semester exams are hectic with 3 internal exams and final university exams, also small exams are conducted every week, called items, which ensure...

It is the 1st medical college in India as well as Eastern Asia.

Faculty: There are 19 subjects in the MBBS course. Faculty members are competent enough to teach us. Semester exams are very much difficult to score. Pass marks, i.e., 50% of marks seem to be difficult, which is very uncommon for school going boys or girls. MB exams are easier than semester exams. There are 9 semesters and 4 MS in the entire curriculum.

Everything is very good. I suggest not to think about placements.

Faculty: Teachers and professors are quite educated. Teaching quality is very good and much modernised. If you want to join here as a student, you can gain a lot of knowledge in 5.5 years.

This college is really great.

Faculty: Teachers are very wise. This college is considered as the best medical college in west Bengal. So it's expected that the teachers have that kind of standards. There is no place for doubt on the relevance of the course. Most responsible professions considered.

College life is good but could be better due to poor infrastructure.

Faculty: The college provides courses like MBBS, post-graduation, nursing, and paramedical. Teachers are well-qualified, but the teacher to student ratio is quite less. Innovative teaching methods are used like projectors, videos, and powerpoint. CMEs, quizzes, competitive exams are held regularly.

I can promise that you will not regret joining the oldest medical college in our country.

Faculty: It is impossible to find every professor amazing if the teaching techniques are concerned. So to be frank, barring some legendary teachers, others are quite boring. You don't have to worry about the student-faculty ratio. Recently, one of the best anatomy teachers in eastern India, Dr Swapan Kumar Saha has retired from our college, but we have few professors whose teaching is amazing. In case if you miss your dissection class, you can practice it later on your own.

Satisfied with the college as its placements, infrastructure and faculty are good.

Faculty: Duration of the course is around 4 and a half years and 1 year is dedicated only for internships. Professors are available for all the subjects. They used PPTs to teach us. The student-faculty ratio is 15:1. Mostly, the students of 3rd year and 4th year check the patients in the hospital. Knowledge regarding many instruments is also provided by the professors. No industry exposure is provided.

I love this college. This was my dream college and I feel lucky to get a chance to study here.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and obviously qualified and knowledgeable. They use projectors to teach us. We can visit them anytime to discuss about studies. Students to faculty ratio is quite sufficient. Kolkata is a metropolitan city, so obviously there is bit industry exposure. Obviously the course curriculum is helpful no question about that.

A Prestigious institution with good facilities, the oldest medical college in Asia.

Faculty: Faculty are best in West Bengal. Top most rankers in NEET UG from west Bengal can get chance in state quota. They are very helpful and maintain discipline. Student to faculty ratio probably 20:1. For pursuing MBBS it's the best institution in West Bengal in all aspect. Most of the students get chance in post graduation with good rank easily. Environment is too good to study here. Thank you and Welcome in our college.

I love our college and you will love it too. I'm very much satisfied. I could't expect more from it.

Faculty: Our teachers are indeed good though some of them are not that helpful as in many other colleges but they are knowledgeable and qualified. Blackboard and projectors are used during theory classes and during wards or OT direct patients are shown to students. Students to faculty ratio is quite sufficient. Kolkata is a metropolitan city so a little bit industry exposure is there but that is not enough to cause you any harm. Obviously the course curriculum is helpful, no question about that. It could have been a much better place provided there was not a serious space crunch.

Faculty: As in all institutions, we have a fair share of godly and horrible teachers! But thankfully the former far outnumbers the latter. We have had teachers who have single-handedly changed our ways of thinking. The classes are huge, as we are a batch of 250. So it was not always possible to participate in the classes as much as we would like to. This was somewhat compensated in the demonstration classes, where we were divided into groups of 40. Audio-visual was the main method, however, quite a few c...

Overall, it is a good college.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is average, so they are neither good nor bad. They use the projectors for teaching. The student to faculty ratio is a little bit less. We get good practicals and wards exposure.

Very happy with the College.

Faculty: The faculty is up to the mark. They put in all their effort to mould the best doctors in the country, and they are very well behaved. They focus more on teaching clinics to the students rather than teaching them simply for marks. The teachers guide you in case you are in any fix.

Medical College Kolkata - The oldest medical college of Asia.

Faculty: What to speak about faculty, the faculty like Dr BC Roy, Dr Nil Ratan Sircar, Dr RG Kar all have been the patrons of this college. The teaching has been the best the strongest point in this college, right from day 1 of each new admitted academic batch. All teachers are very helpful and easily accessible.
