Q:   Is B.A. at Meerut College worth the investment?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

After analyzing the reviews and feedback from current and former students of Meerut College's B.A. program, here are some key findings:

* Affordable Fee: The monthly fee of around INR1500 is considered reasonable by many students.
* Helpful Teachers: Professors are praised for being supportive, knowledgeable, and willing to clarify doubts.
* Decent Facilities: Although there is no canteen, the college has well-equipped labs, libraries, and sports facilities.
* Limited Placement Opportunities: Unfortunately, the college does not provide placement services, and students rely on external efforts to secure jobs.
* Good Scholarship Options: Economically weaker students and those from farming families receive scholarships to help with tuition fees.
* Diverse Curriculum: The B.A. course includes a wide range of subjects, such as English, History, Political Science, and more.
* Respected Degree: Despite limited placement opportunities, the college's B.A. degree is recognised and respected by employers.

However, some areas of concern include:

* Limited internship and job opportunities within the college.
* No placement cell or career guidance support.
* Few complaints about poor infrastructure and lack of modern amenities.

Ultimately, whether the B.A. programme at Meerut College is worth the investment depends on individual priorities and goals. If you're looking for an affordable, well-resourced institution with supportive faculty and a solid reputation, Meerut College might be a suitable option. However, if you're seeking strong industry connections and job prospects, you may want to explore alternative programs.

This college is value for money. Very good faculty and campus is very clean.
Placements: 60 to 70 percent of students get placement. The maximum package is 5 crores, while the minimum is 20 lakhs. Wipro is the top recruiting company. 70 percent of students got internships or placements. The top role offered in my course is data analyst in Wipro. Whoever studies better gets a better job from this college placement.
Infrastructure: Wifi is available on campus, and the library has two large libraries. The classes are clean, and all have new projectors. Labs are also very good. The hostel is also available in this college. Hostel food is also good in mess. Teachers have a friendly nature.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. The syllabus is very good, so exams make a student industry ready. Difficulty level is high. Pass percentage is 80 to 85%. All teachers are very friendly and support the students very well; our HOD is also helpful for students.

Infrastructure is very poor, and there is too much violence on the college premises.
Placements: My overall experience at Meerut College regarding placements was very disappointing, as I haven't seen any kind of company visiting the college for the placement of students. The faculty was not very promising regarding the placement opportunities for college students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Meerut College is really unacceptable, as the condition of the washrooms and classrooms is below average. The hostels are not properly maintained, and the grounds are not taken care of at regular intervals. I am really dissatisfied with it.
Faculty: In Meerut College, the faculty doesn't take classes at regular intervals, nor do they teach students anything that may help them in their extracurricular activities or the outside world. They only attend classes for their usual work.

There is no certain time for the exam.
Placements: There is no placement available at the college, and I am unaware of any information regarding the placement of college students. If you are interested in learning about the placement process, I suggest visiting the official college website where you can find comprehensive information on this matter. Additionally, you may also consider reaching out to them via email for further assistance.
Infrastructure: Our college boasts a plethora of essential amenities that greatly enhance the educational atmosphere for our students. Among these, the well-stocked library stands out as a notable feature. Alongside our top-notch academic and sports facilities, the college takes great pride in its lively event calendar, which offers a diverse range of activities throughout the academic year.
Faculty: Professors excel in their communication with students, demonstrating proficiency in teaching and fostering meaningful interactions. Additionally, a curricular course is included in each semester, ensuring a well-rounded education. The difficulty level of every semester is moderate, providing students with an appropriate challenge. Moreover, the passing marks for each semester are set at 40, ensuring a fair evaluation of students' performance.

The college is considered the best and provides value for money. It has a green environment.
Placements: No placement opportunities are provided by the college in any discipline. However, there are many options for traditional courses. The college offers other opportunities for self-development, such as value-added courses and personality development courses.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided by the college include value-added courses with vocational training, and proper labs like the botany lab, chemistry lab, and physics lab, among others. There is no canteen at the college. They encourage participation in sports like the All India University Games and provide daily allowances (DA) and travel allowances (TA) and other expenses when students travel for competitions. There are no Wi-Fi facilities available.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They encourage students to complete tasks and are willing to clarify doubts multiple times. They are always happy to assist students. Most of them are professors with PhDs who are approachable for any issues.
Other: I chose this course due to its curriculum, and this is the most famous college in Meerut, near Kutchery. There is a proper anti-ragging cell. The fee is very affordable, around INR 1500 per month. Scholarships are provided to economically weaker students and those from farming families.

Review of Bachelor of Arts from Meerut College, Meerut.
Placements: I've completed a Bachelor of Arts with Hindi Psychology and Defense Studies as subjects. Around 90% of students pass this course. This government college doesn't offer extensive placement opportunities but provides a respected degree, enabling students to apply for jobs at various levels.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was amazing, with all the basic facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, and classrooms, along with a well-stocked old library. Meerut College doesn't have a canteen facility but boasts 4–5 fields for sports and games.
Faculty: The teachers were professionals with extensive experience and knowledge. The B.A. course is comparatively easier than other professional courses, making it ideal for pursuing additional interests alongside the degree. Even an average or below-average student can pass this course with a decent percentage, provided they put in the required effort.

Dissatisfied because of no regular classes.
Placements: I have taken admission in 2020 in the B.Com LL.B. Programme in Meerut College, Meerut. I am passing out in 2025. The regular classes were held till the 5th semester. There are no placements offered in the Department of Law. Students get enrolled in independent internship programs on their own. No compulsory attendance issue. Students can attain practical aspects of law by joining independent internship programs.
Infrastructure: Seminar halls with good seating and sound systems. Library facilities are available. Students can issue books from the library for 2 months before the semester exams. The infrastructure of classrooms is average, just like government colleges. There are no hostel facilities. Students can get rented rooms nearby to the college. No mess. No canteen. Students can participate in different sports and games competitions. Cultural activities and competitions like debate, essay writing, poster making, singing, and theatre were held during the curriculum.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good, and teachers were quite supportive. If we talk about the semester exams, they are not difficult. Students having basic knowledge of commerce and law can pass the examination. There is about 90% to 95% passing percentage.
Other: To gain knowledge about commerce and law as it includes commerce as well as law subjects, which results in making a good career in law. Strength of teachers should be increased. Classes should be held on a regular basis.
