Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.A. students at Meerut College?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Success Rate of Placement Cell for B.A. Students

Based on the student reviews and feedback, it appears that the placement cell at Meerut College has mixed results in securing jobs for B.A. students.

* Some students reported that the placement cell was non-existent, implying that there were no formal placement opportunities provided by the college. ("There was no placements cell in this college.")

On the other hand, some students mentioned that the college did offer placements, although the success rate seems limited:

* One student stated that "around 30% of students got internships" with companies like Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, and Flipkart.

It's worth noting that the overall placement record for B.A. students is unclear, as only limited mentions of placements were made in the student reviews. Therefore, we cannot accurately determine the success rate of the placement cell for B.A. students.

In summary, while some students reported having received internships or placements, the evidence suggests that the placement cell may not be effective in securing jobs for all B.A. students. Further research would be needed to better understand the college's placement efforts and outcomes.

Q:   Is B.A. at Meerut College worth the investment?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

After analyzing the reviews and feedback from current and former students of Meerut College's B.A. program, here are some key findings:

* Affordable Fee: The monthly fee of around INR1500 is considered reasonable by many students.
* Helpful Teachers: Professors are praised for being supportive, knowledgeable, and willing to clarify doubts.
* Decent Facilities: Although there is no canteen, the college has well-equipped labs, libraries, and sports facilities.
* Limited Placement Opportunities: Unfortunately, the college does not provide placement services, and students rely on external efforts to secure jobs.
* Good Scholarship Options: Economically weaker students and those from farming families receive scholarships to help with tuition fees.
* Diverse Curriculum: The B.A. course includes a wide range of subjects, such as English, History, Political Science, and more.
* Respected Degree: Despite limited placement opportunities, the college's B.A. degree is recognised and respected by employers.

However, some areas of concern include:

* Limited internship and job opportunities within the college.
* No placement cell or career guidance support.
* Few complaints about poor infrastructure and lack of modern amenities.

Ultimately, whether the B.A. programme at Meerut College is worth the investment depends on individual priorities and goals. If you're looking for an affordable, well-resourced institution with supportive faculty and a solid reputation, Meerut College might be a suitable option. However, if you're seeking strong industry connections and job prospects, you may want to explore alternative programs.

College Review…………
Placements: As such, percentage doesn't matter for admission to my college. You just fill the form and wait for the merit list to come. Students get 20 Lacs P/A, and the lowest is 1 Lacs P/A. If your percentage is more than 55 percent, you are able to get your internship as well. You can get job roles like accountant, customer advisor, etc., in my course, which is Bachelors of Arts.
Infrastructure: Our college provides all the facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, library, and our library is very big as well. Classrooms are also available. Our teachers are very helpful and are available for you. There are different types of meals, and they keep changing the food as well. Our canteen is also very good; they give you hygienic meals, and the taste is just awesome. Medical facilities are also available, and a team of doctors is available in the college to help students if needed. In our campus, you can also play different games.
Faculty: Our teachers are always available for each and every student. Since our college is a government college, every teacher must give their government exam. If they pass the exam, they get the college position. So yes, our teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is fully relevant and makes you industry-ready, but you also have to learn some other good skills. The semester exams are quite difficult to pass, but if you are good in your studies, you'll easily pass your exams; you just have to study every day.
Other: The main reason I chose this course is that I love literature. However, nowadays, I think our course needs some improvement, like the books should be fewer. We want more images in our books so that we can easily imagine what we read. Events and fests are held in college, and we can participate if we want, like dancing, singing, and throwing parties for other students as well. Scholarships are also available for SC/ST students, and they get some concessions for their fests.

Placements in the computer science departments are excellent.
Placements: About 60-70% of students get placed with the highest salary package that ranges from 5-6 LPA. Bachelor of computer science professionals are in high demand across various industries, and careers in computer science often come with competitive salaries. Placements in the biotechnology and computer science departments are excellent. Companies and pharmacies including Tech Mahindra visit our college regularly for placements.
Infrastructure: The campus is very clean. Classrooms are also clean with new projectors. Labs are very good. The college was established in 1892 and has a campus of 50 acres. The college has a glorious history of achievements in academics and other fields.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful and friendly. They have great teaching skills. They are very friendly and supportive.
Other: Meerut College is spread over on 50 acres of land. I am satisfied to be a student of this college. Meerut College is a state-funded college in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. The college is affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.

Dissatisfied because of no regular classes.
Placements: I have taken admission in 2020 in the B.Com LL.B. Programme in Meerut College, Meerut. I am passing out in 2025. The regular classes were held till the 5th semester. There are no placements offered in the Department of Law. Students get enrolled in independent internship programs on their own. No compulsory attendance issue. Students can attain practical aspects of law by joining independent internship programs.
Infrastructure: Seminar halls with good seating and sound systems. Library facilities are available. Students can issue books from the library for 2 months before the semester exams. The infrastructure of classrooms is average, just like government colleges. There are no hostel facilities. Students can get rented rooms nearby to the college. No mess. No canteen. Students can participate in different sports and games competitions. Cultural activities and competitions like debate, essay writing, poster making, singing, and theatre were held during the curriculum.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good, and teachers were quite supportive. If we talk about the semester exams, they are not difficult. Students having basic knowledge of commerce and law can pass the examination. There is about 90% to 95% passing percentage.
Other: To gain knowledge about commerce and law as it includes commerce as well as law subjects, which results in making a good career in law. Strength of teachers should be increased. Classes should be held on a regular basis.

This college is value for money. Very good faculty and campus is very clean.
Placements: 60 to 70 percent of students get placement. The maximum package is 5 crores, while the minimum is 20 lakhs. Wipro is the top recruiting company. 70 percent of students got internships or placements. The top role offered in my course is data analyst in Wipro. Whoever studies better gets a better job from this college placement.
Infrastructure: Wifi is available on campus, and the library has two large libraries. The classes are clean, and all have new projectors. Labs are also very good. The hostel is also available in this college. Hostel food is also good in mess. Teachers have a friendly nature.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. The syllabus is very good, so exams make a student industry ready. Difficulty level is high. Pass percentage is 80 to 85%. All teachers are very friendly and support the students very well; our HOD is also helpful for students.

Infrastructure is very poor, and there is too much violence on the college premises.
Placements: My overall experience at Meerut College regarding placements was very disappointing, as I haven't seen any kind of company visiting the college for the placement of students. The faculty was not very promising regarding the placement opportunities for college students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Meerut College is really unacceptable, as the condition of the washrooms and classrooms is below average. The hostels are not properly maintained, and the grounds are not taken care of at regular intervals. I am really dissatisfied with it.
Faculty: In Meerut College, the faculty doesn't take classes at regular intervals, nor do they teach students anything that may help them in their extracurricular activities or the outside world. They only attend classes for their usual work.

The college is considered the best and provides value for money. It has a green environment.
Placements: No placement opportunities are provided by the college in any discipline. However, there are many options for traditional courses. The college offers other opportunities for self-development, such as value-added courses and personality development courses.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided by the college include value-added courses with vocational training, and proper labs like the botany lab, chemistry lab, and physics lab, among others. There is no canteen at the college. They encourage participation in sports like the All India University Games and provide daily allowances (DA) and travel allowances (TA) and other expenses when students travel for competitions. There are no Wi-Fi facilities available.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They encourage students to complete tasks and are willing to clarify doubts multiple times. They are always happy to assist students. Most of them are professors with PhDs who are approachable for any issues.
Other: I chose this course due to its curriculum, and this is the most famous college in Meerut, near Kutchery. There is a proper anti-ragging cell. The fee is very affordable, around INR 1500 per month. Scholarships are provided to economically weaker students and those from farming families.
