MITID DAT Counselling 2025: Seat Allotment Procedure, Merit List DATE, Colleges, Fees

The counseling for MITID DAT 2024 is conducted soon after the declaration of final results. The MIT Institute of Design releases the details at the time of the release of counseling notification. Candidates will be shortlisted for counseling based on their merit rank in MITID DAT 2024.

Note that the institute has released the FINAL merit lists for the B.Des and M.Des courses.

The MIT Institute of Design hasn't released any notification on the format or shchedule of the counseling for MITID DAT 2024. So, candidates are urged to keep visiting this space for the latest information on MITID DAT 2024 counseling.

The allotment of seats for MITID DAT 2024 is based on the merit rank of the candidate in the entrance exam. This means, candidates who have a higher MITID DAT 2024 merit rank will be considered first for seat allotment.

Candidates who have been allotted a seat need to pay the seat-acceptance fee and complete other admission formalities. In case the candidate doesn't pay the seat-acceptance fee, the seat allotment will be cancelled. 

To be considered for admission, the candidate must meet the cut-off criteria in their respective categories. If the candidate fails to meet the cut-off, he or she will not be considered for admisison.

The MITID DAT 2025 application fee for Indian application is INR 3000. However, candidates belonging to NRI, CIO, PIO, and Foreign national categories need to pay INR 4500.

The candidate has to pay the fee at the time of filling out the application form. Without the fee payment, the application process will be deemed incomplete.

The Design Entrance Test (DET) 2025 exam for admission to the B.Des and M.Des courses at the MIT Institute of Design will be conducted on April 6, 2025.

The entrance exam included a Design Aptitude Test and is the 1st stage of the two-stage admission process. Candidates who qualified in the DAT exam had to next appear in a Studio Test & Personal Interview.

The list of candidates shortisted for the Studio Test & Personal Interview will be announced on April 23, 2025.

MITID DAT 2025 eligibility criteria for BDes course is Class 12 pass from any stream, whereas for MDes course, candidates should hold an undergraduate degree. It is mandatory for candidates to meet the eligibility criteria for the programs they are seeking admission to; only they he or she will be considered for admission.

Note that any candidate who don't meet the eligibility criteria could be disqualified at any stage of the admission process.

MITID DAT has not released any official syllabus. However, candidates are evaluated on their analytical skills, drawing skills, communcation skills. Know more about the syllabus of MITID DAT exam 2025.

The candidate is also urged to prepare previous year's papers. Another useful tool is sample papers, which is easily available in the market for top exams like NIFT, NID, etc. Use these sample papers.

The Studio Test and Personal Interview for the M.Des programs was conducted from May 14-18, 2024. Candidates who have quaified in the written exams are eigible to appear in the Studio Test. 

The detailed shedule for the Studio Test and Interview is released on the admission portal of MIT Institute of Design. The candidate had to attend the exam as per the schedule and slot mentioned in the admit card.

The MITID 2024 final merit list for the B.Des program was released in May 15, 2024. The result will have to be checked online. In the log-in panel that opens, enter your candidate credentials.

The result will have the sectional and overall marks, and the qualifying status. Shortlisted candidates will be called for seat allotment.
