NIFT Mumbai in a nutshell.
Placements: The placement in NIFT is not extraordinary in terms of package, but there are good companies that participate in the process. For internships and job placement, big retail giants like Reliance, ABFRL, Tata Trent, and Dmart come in. About 60% of students get help from the college for the same.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by NIFT are good. The hostel rooms are spacious and well-equipped. Food, on the other hand, is average. The classrooms and labs are well-equipped and add to the experience of doing everything hands-on and not just relying on presentations.
Faculty: Being in the textile design department gives you the best facilities. They're well-educated and all from different fields in textile. The curriculum is a mix of practical and theory in an appropriate ratio. The exams are tough but interesting to work on, and will give you an insight into professional presentation in front of actual industry experts.
Other: I personally chose textile design because it gives me a wider spectrum of fields to enter post-graduation. I'm more inclined towards the details on the surface than the forms. This course gives me the freedom to do just that, play around with fabric and different surfaces as well as different techniques to achieve that. I think the collaboration between different departments is something that can be improved, but the college is slowly moving towards it. The college life apart from that is very lively and eventful. There are amazing events, competitions, conferences, and opportunities that NIFT opens up to you.

It was not at all good enough because of its placements.
Placements: It was not at all a nice experience getting placed through the placement cell of our college because I got placed in a fraud company. There were no desktops to work, no office. It was a store without even a washroom to use. There were no head designers to guide me, and I had to resign it as there was no chance of getting any good exposure for learning any practical work. It affected my career very badly that I had to change three companies in the search for a good one, and I'm still looking for a good job now.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is nice. Washrooms are very clean. Classrooms are well maintained. Moreover, the canteen also offers a variety of things which you can order and eat, but the quality of food served is obviously not that good as compared to the outside food stores. You can have fast food and a proper main course for having a good meal there.
Faculty: Teachers in the college were helpful. Few of them were not having any idea about how to treat students and how to talk to them properly. There is always a practical exposure for giving you a proper idea about how this industry works. Faculty members were less as compared to the students. The course curriculum was useful but not that beneficial for getting high salary package placement offers.
Other: Events like Spectrum and other fests are conducted in the college.

Overall good experience, just not worth the fees we pay.
Placements: The in-house placements are not worth the fees we pay. A very small percentage of our seniors got good placements, or merely decent placements. Internships usually start after the 4th semester, but students are very active at NIFT; they find work outside the college themselves, which helps them in their portfolio.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent enough, the hostel facilities are good, but the food is okay-ish. The college has good Wi-Fi and water facilities. The classrooms are large enough, and the library is the best place in the entire campus; it is like a treasure for design students. The quality of food in the hostel mess fluctuates very frequently; else, it is fine.
Faculty: The faculty members are very helpful, and the curriculum is changed every year according to industry requirements. The faculty members help you anytime you reach out to them, and all of your concerns are brought to their notice. Teachers also consider your efforts rather than comparing them with others.

It is a good college for real fashion world experience.
Placements: Placements in the college were good as compared to our senior batch. Moreover, most of the students of our batch got pre-placement offers from their respective companies in which they were doing their graduation project. The highest salary package offered was ranged between 25-30 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was ranged between 15-20 LPA. Most of the companies were for styling and visual merchandising, and there were few numbers of companies for textile and fashion.
Infrastructure: All types of facilities are available on our campus. As it's India's one of the top fashion college, we get exposure to the real fashion world. We have plenty of good lecturers and assistants, who are always available for students. Hostels are located nearby the college to save the time of students so that they can participate in other curricular activities.
Faculty: Faculty members in the college are well qualified and helpful. The quality of teaching is quite appreciable. In some of our departments, we have practical classes for better understanding. The college offers a very eco-friendly environment. We have industrial visits for textile and fashion technology department. We have visits to fashion shows and many more for fashion and fashion communication department. You will get a lot of good opportunities here.
Other: Our college conducts several fests and extracurricular activities to engage every student in physical activities. The college fest named Spectrum, and the games fest named Converge are conducted here.

The best fashion college in India.
Placements: The placement percent is 70-90% and companies offer moderate to high salary packages. Well-known companies from apparel, export houses, and e-commerce companies visit for recruitment. Internship opportunities are wide only if you have contacts of your seniors, any company person, or mentors.
Infrastructure: Well-kept and equipped library. There is a basketball court and a volleyball court. There are air-conditioned classrooms with all the modern amenities for the students. IT lab, art lab, tie and dye lab, pm and GC lab, etc. are well-maintained and equipped. The canteen offers good food at a reasonable price. The hostel is amazingly well-kept. Very pleasant and designer-friendly campus.
Faculty: The majority of the faculty members are Ph.D. holders, well-qualified, know what they are there for, giving proper guidance and mentoring. Teaching methods are such that suit all the students and personal interaction is there. For teaching, the student-teacher ratio is 30:1 and for mentoring, the ratio is 6:1. Most of the teachers have contacts with the industry, if not they try their best to fit in. The course curriculum is well-programed, meeting the industry requirement.
Other: Thre college has strongly maintained the second position of 2nd best fashion college in India. Every semester, faculty feedback and campus feedback are taken for the better and scope of improvement. It was an amazing experience.
