Entrance Test
Eligible candidates need to appear for the written test i.e Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) conducted by the college.
Situation Test
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Situation Test based on the score obtained in CAT and GAT.

Admission is through counseling based on the rank obtained in CAT/ GAT or Situation test score and performance in Group Discussion/ Personal Interview. This is the best campus ever.

Placements: NIFT is providing good placements; in the past, they have also provided good placements. At Nift Kannur, we will get placements, but not for every student, and we will get a chance to work with a designer. In Nift Kannur, you can explore the companies and the job offers they are making.

Infrastructure: Our campus has a huge setup of Wi-Fi, and the campus also has the best facilities, but boys don't have hostels. The classes and campus are neat and clean, and the resource center has a collection of books. And the infrastructural structure of the campus is very nice; it's unique compared to the other campuses.

Faculty: The best area is that there are more practical classes, so it's very interesting, and the faculty are also good for teaching, and the lessons they are giving are also getting proper attention. And we have jury exams that are divided into three parts: midterm, end term, and final.

Other: I am in the 2021–25 batch of knitwear designers. Basically, we are learning everything about knitwear.

Our college has good infrastructure and the fee structure is a little high.

Placements: About 99% of students got placements. I don't know much about the average salary package offered. We can get so many designing companies. Nike and Lifestyle are some of them. Everyone in our college gets internships as it is compulsory for us. The roles offered are as designers, graphic designer, garment constructing, stylist, etc.

Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi in our college as well as in the hostel and other labs for every department For the knitwear department, we have a garment construction lab, a pattern-making lab, and a hand flat knitting lab. The quality of the facility is also good. There are different types and enough machines in the lab. We have food in our mess which offers good food that is suitable for north and south Indian people. We have a basketball and volleyball court. There is a doctor at the college on Wednesdays. Our college has all clubs.

Faculty: Teachers teach well and are very friendly. They give us practical and theoretical knowledge by making us practice everything and presentations. The curriculum definetly makes us industry-ready. We have all kinds of such facilities in the college. The semester exams are mostly jury. We have to present our work to the jury members and also exams for theory subjects. The pass percentage is 50% and 14 marks by 40 for the jury.

Not regretting one moment of the last four years!

Placements: Placement Rating Well, NIFT placements can be a little tricky. They have placements from a lot of companies. The order of placements plays a very crucial role too. They sent their students to Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, etc. But some people actually manage to get very high paying jobs.

Infrastructure: Hostel Rating The campus has hostel for girls and there is no hostel for boys. There are 2 hostels for girls. One inside the campus and one just right outside the college. The hostel has non-AC and AC rooms. They also have free gym services with a trainer. The hostel is pretty big and has a garden and all. The food is mostly north Indian food. Infrastructure Rating Kannur campus is the absolute best. It? S all in one big round structured campus. With 7 floors and a beautiful terrace with a pretty view, they also have garden in the terrace in the 8th and 1st floor. The most interesting thing is, you can be on any floor and you can SEE whole college. There is also an amphitheater and a fully air conditioned auditorium in the campus.

Faculty: Faculty Rating The faculty members were really good. Well, my department faculty members. They always want best for us and always supported us in improving ourselves. They all matched our vibe and supported us in academics and other co-curricular activities. We could always go to them for their guidance. Even the department assistants are very friendly and fun.

Other: NIFT Kannur gives one of the best campus lives. Every Wednesday, there is a DJ thing that is only in NIFT Kannur campus. We also have a college fest conducted by the students where people from outside can enter the college with a big concert night and everything. The students count might be less but that adds a plus point too. Everyone will know everyone. There is different clubs that conduct different fun programs every week. They celebrates everything. And since it? S in Kerala, Onam celebration is something no one wants to miss.
